Good condition for March
Greens were in excellent condition (except for 14, looks like someone drove an ATV across it). Some areas around the greens and fairways have some bare patches and weeds, but overall very good. Can't beat the value on this course. The driving range could use some improvements, but that might already be in the works.
Well...
What's left to say. It's December and we are playing golf, comfortably. Course is in great shape especially considering the cold mornings as of late. P@LW better watch out. If the improvements continue the course will become a not so hidden gem. Greens while slow, rolled true as usual.
What a day!!
When I got to the course they were still undecided about opening. The weather was not ideal however I made the choice to play and eventually they did oblige. What a day it turned out to be. Had the course to myself, not seeing anyone until I made the turn. Course was in amazing shape especially for December. The weather actually gave me some extra focus and I absolutely took advantage. Can't remember the last time I made so many long putts. To only hit 7 greens and still card a 79 in those conditions made that my favorite round of the year. Thanks to the crew at LW for getting me out!!
Nice track, great condition
The course is in excellent condition for late fall, especially on the greens. Pace of play was slower due to a group of 4 that would not allow smaller groups to play through, but that happens when there are no marshalls to help.
One minor addition would be some tees on the mats at the range. You can step off the mat to use a regular tee but it's not level and not much grass.
The Pines at Lindsey Wilson
My brother and I like this course because it is halfway between where we live in a good meeting area. The course is lined with pine trees where it gets its name and is a very nice track with postage stamp green. It is definitely challenging at times! Trees are 90% air except for pine trees, they are 90% pine!
Great condition in November
Played on a hot deal, and the price was so good I expected the course to be a goat track. I was completely wrong. The course was in great condition, especially for November. The layout is not the most difficult, but there were a couple of short par 4s that were fun and interesting. The only negative would be the clubhouse and lack of amenities, but the nice course and great value make it a great place to play.
Back for more
Ten days have passed since my last visit and I'm happy to say things are definitely getting back to "normal". By normal I mean the greens were rolling deceptively fast and true, despite some remnants of the recent (albeit necessary) maintenance. Fairways were cut as well since my last visit. As I stated before it seems like they are heading in the right direction. The unwillingness of some golfers to fix their pitch marks being the only complaint. That's not exclusive to P@LW and seems to only be an issue at courses that fall in a certain price point. I hope all you lazy "golfers" understand that being a good tenant of the course only serves to maintain and improve conditions. If you have the energy to perform a physically violent act like striking a golf ball surely you can bend down and make a simple repair to the green. You know who you are...
Anytime I'm in the area I'll be playing P@LW, hopefully the improvements continue along with some golfer accountability.
No notification of course maintenance
Played here a few weeks ago and the greens were great. Faster than most courses in this price range and above. They rolled true as well. Today I got there and the front nine was closed. They recently punched and sanded the back. I completely understand it's that time of year for many courses. My complaint stems from no notice on Golfnow or the course website.
The course has great potential and it seems like they're putting in the work required to fulfill said potential. Today was only frustrating bc of the aforementioned foolishness. Can't wait to see where they go. I will definitely be back.
Wash the carts
Plenty of help on site. They do not clean carts as they come in. Really need to clean the carts before sending them out.
