Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club
About
Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club offers the traditional links course reminiscent of those found in the British Isles, situated amidst Virginia's horse country. The club gets its name from the land's former use, a raspberry field. The scenic terrain overlooks to Catoctin Mountains and there are still a few raspberry bushes dotting the course. By far the layout's most formidable challenges come from the deep, stacked pot bunkers that make it truly feel like a classic Scottish golf course. There are also water hazards on a few holes. The course's signature is the par-4 third hole, which is long but plays downhill all the way. The 10th hole, another par 4, is one of the toughest. The landing area is generous off the tee but there is a creek and pond to the left and fairway bunkers on the right.

Bad greens
They had recently aerified the greens and they were not done the best Made the whole round a bad experience. Would def go back but not for about 3 weeks
Nice course
They had just punched the greens two days prior. Greens were rough. Would have been nice to know they had just punched them.
Worth your time
Good course and always in good shape. Generous fairways but play this course for the greens. Usually very fast and not a lot of flat putts. All the scoring is in the putting here. A must play for VA golfers.
Perfect Course at Price-Drop Tee Times
I played this course with a couple buddies before everyone was heading back to college and it is totally worth the $35+ for the greens fees and everything else. As someone playing an expensive game on a budget, I try and get the most bang for my buck and this course did not fail to impress. Greens in great condition, rough was trimmed, bunkers were great, everything about this course was great. It is a challenging course those bunkers WILL GET YOU if you are not careful. Play here no matter when you can it is awesome.
Raspberry falls
This golfing experience is wonderful every time. Staff is friendly. Course conditions were excellent even though it rained hard the night before.
Great time
It poured the whole way to the course. Once we got there it stopped. Not a soul on the course. Best I've had in a long time
Nice but two bad things
We followed a junior tournament which we did not know about. This caused the round to be very slow. Overall the course was very nice and challenging and several sets of tees allows you to pick how hard you want the course to be. However, while on the back 9, I found my ball on the edge of the cart path, as I approached the ball, a large PitBull and another large dog came running at me full speed from one of the houses along the course. The house had no fence and I was in trouble. Luckily as the dog got right up to me, the owner was able to call him back. Could have been a bad scene. Also, on the final hole, the tee boxes are up on a huge cliff (at least a 40 ft drop down to rocks). There was no fencing or guard rails or anything. My son was standing on the right side of the tee box and lost his balance a little and nearly stumbled over the cliff !!! My son could have died simply waiting to tee off. This is unacceptable in every way and I will never play this course again unless that gets fixed. Totally irresponsible.
High expectations!
After reading all of the reviews and coming highly recommended I was a little disappointed with the course conditions. Greens were peppered with ball marks that were not repaired and rough was turning brown in several areas. Tee boxes were thin and bunkers were inconsistent. The value for the amount charged just was not there. Has the potential to be a great course and facility. Staff was great and friendly and would be the reason I would return.
Love this course!
Perfect day on a beautiful course. Love playing the Raspberry Trail and love getting free golf after playing three!
Not worth the price
Really disappointed with the course for the price. Most the bunkers are lacking sand. Don't even give you enough sand in the divot replace canisters so it is impossible to help take care of the course. Just the look of the course is not as nice as I would say. Very dry so the course is very dry. I just don't see where the money hoes for the price. Would rather okay multiple other courses for about the same price.
A great afternoon!
Pace of play was just under 3-1/2 hours. Given the dry weather conditions we are currently experiencing in the region, the course was in really good shape. We will play again SOON!
All the great things I have heard fell incredibly short.
I am totally envious of those who play this course on a regular basis. There is not a course in the area that comes close. Only Bull Run & Augustine can even be considered. I can't wait to find another great deal like I got Sunday. This course may cost me a day or two from work to get a weekday deal.
Great views, fun challenging course!
I've played Raspberry Falls a few times this year. Course is usually in good/great condition. Pace of play has always been great. The views are amazing! The only negatives, tee boxes could use a little work, bunkers were not in the best of shape.
If your mid-handicapper 12-20+ hdcp play the blues or the whites. Under 11 the golds are a nice challenge. I'll def come back and play again.
Pretty Course But......
My friend and I played here yesterday and had a twilight tee time. Through the first 5 holes or so, the pace of play was ok. Once hole 6 came around, we started playing the waiting game. It wasn't bad at first, maybe 10 minute waits to tee off and to hit your second shot. However, once we got to 10, the wait became really bad. It took us a little over an hour just to play holes 10 and 11. Getting frustrated, my friend and I decided to try to skip several holes to see where the back up was. There wasn't any. We took notice of all of the foursomes plus two FIVESOMES that were in front of us. Now just being very angry, we just left the course only playing only 11 holes.
Raspberry Falls is a very pretty and challenging course but for the price, it is not worth the wait to start the next hole. Unless they get a marshall to keep pace of play moving or lower the price, I cannot see myself going back there.
Still an excellent course and staff
Perfect weather and good course conditions despite 3+ inches of rain the day before. Only problem was cart-path-only which is difficult for 3 men between 75 and 82 years old. There are some very wide fairways and hills.
Raspberry July 14th
I was a little disappointed that there was no one at the bag drop to greet us at the very least, let alone the big delivery truck that was blocking the area. There had been some rain the day before so the course was cart path only. However, after playing a few holes, it was apparent to our group that it did not need to be so we were burdened with playing the course leashed to the cart path. But, I digress. We did not get to finish our round because it started raining VERY hard at 13. However, even though this was not my best experience at this course, I would definitely play it again.
Slow play but fun and scenic course
The course was in good shape. Beautiful views on several holes. I played from the yellow tees. The course is forgiving on drives but can be tough around the greens. The course of play was pretty slow but otherwise a great course
Great Layout - Poor Conditions
I am a fan of this course. There are plenty of holes that you can score on. Beautiful surroundings and course layout. What I didn't like was that no one apparently fixes their divots or ball marks on this course, what a shame. Some greens are rough because of the mall marks.
sand?
Always in great condition. Very fair. Greens are well kept. Ball marks: repair mine and at least one more. Sand? You will score well as long as as you don't find the the beach.
gnats
Wow the gnats were a little troublesome. Otherwise nice . a bit slow for nine holes then pace picked up thank you Marshall.
