Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club
About
Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club offers the traditional links course reminiscent of those found in the British Isles, situated amidst Virginia's horse country. The club gets its name from the land's former use, a raspberry field. The scenic terrain overlooks to Catoctin Mountains and there are still a few raspberry bushes dotting the course. By far the layout's most formidable challenges come from the deep, stacked pot bunkers that make it truly feel like a classic Scottish golf course. There are also water hazards on a few holes. The course's signature is the par-4 third hole, which is long but plays downhill all the way. The 10th hole, another par 4, is one of the toughest. The landing area is generous off the tee but there is a creek and pond to the left and fairway bunkers on the right.

Beautiful, challenging Raspberry Falls
It was a great day to be playing golf. The staff made it a better experience by treating us well when we arrived and checking on us throughout our game. Don't lose your focus on this course because the back 9 are as interesting and challenging as the front.
Raspberry Falls - Challenging but fair to the player
Played on July 4th and flew through the course. No one in front or behind my twosome.
Good Value with the Teetime discount. Probably would not have played without the discount.
Rough and trap make this a difficult course. The wind on this day made it even more difficult.
Staff very good at register, starter, and kids cleaning clubs.
18th tee box is a great view and good finishing hole.
Great Course, Great Value
Great Course in excellent shape. Played late in the day (5pm tee time) so greens were starting to get bumpy. Played front nine in 90 minutes, then got behind a slow foursome on the back. Finished in just over 4 hours. Tremendous value - especially starting in the late afternoon. Of course, finished 15-20 minutes after sundown.
Don't Pay Full Price
GolfNow deal was a decent price, but course is otherwise overpriced and not so special to justify full price. Greens could be in better shape. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Poor Condition for the Price...
This course is one of my favorites in the NOVA area, but sadly, it's gone downhill within the last year. The greens were dimpled with brown spots, no sand in the traps, tee boxes were bare and and 18 was simply dirt... This course used to be worth the $100 you pay on the weekend for 18, but it's barely worth $50 in its current condition. Such a disappointment...
Excellent Course and Pace of Play
Had a 3 hour round and the course was in great shape. The price is high, similar to Westfields, but without all the perks of Westfields.
Great view and nice condition
It was my first visit at there. The course condition is very good, and view is great. Front line is better than back line. But 18th hole gave me great view and experience.
Great course - tee times smashed in
As the heading says...great course. Beautiful views (including the nice cart girl), great layout, perfect conditions. Only issue was the pace of play. Hard to get into a groove waiting 5-10 min every shot. Definitely worth the money though.
Great layout and pace
Played solo at 3pm on a Monday... Wide open, played through 4 twosomes and finished in 2 hrs
Nice Layout Nice Course
Played here for the first time, got a good twilight rate. Very nice course in great shape. Played well and really enjoyed the course. I will be back.
Great course conditions
The course is in great condition. The ruff is deep so grab an extra club. Friendly and attentive staff. I love playing this course
Course in the Country
Weather was not very good so playing late in the day we essentially had the course to ourselves. Finished up almost in the dark. Course was in good shape. The only draw backs for this course is there is essentially no sand in most of the bunkers and a few holes are always cart path only which slows down pace of play.
AWESOME GOLF COURSE!
AWESOME GOLF COURSE! AWESOME VIEW! AWESOME STAFF! AWESOME LOCATION!
Wet but wonderful
Lots of rain in the area preceding the round. Cart path only slowed pace of play. Otherwise a beautiful course.
Great views and condition
This course has great views and is always in good condition. Somewhat expensive though.
This is a go to course in Northern Virginia.
Can't go wrong with this course no matter your skill level.
Great Views!
Beautiful course with fantastic views from spectacular elevated tees. Course is very well maintained and landscaped. I really liked that there were very few homes on the course and it was very peaceful setting.
Staff really treats guests well!
very fun course
Very fun challenging course with some nice scenic views. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I will defiantly play this course again.
Fast greens and long rough made for a challenging round
Fast greens and long rough made for a challenging round. We were able to get through 18 holes in just under 4 hours on a Saturday. Great pace of play.
Great value - after 4 pm
I would recommend this course to anyone in the DC metro area. The pace of play was awesome since it was late in the day, and we got a $35 rate to make things even better. I know I would not pay $105 to play this course, but anything in the $50 to $60 range to me is worth the price if you know you can finish all 18.
There were some issues on a few fairways that had excessive wet spots (even at 7 pm) after several days of no rain, but the greens were in awesome shape and roll very true.
Bunkers are as others mentioned are both nice soft white sand, while others are red clay. I really don't understand this either, and thankfully I avoided all of the hard-pack ones.
I'll go play another round...on the cheap!
