Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club
About
Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club offers the traditional links course reminiscent of those found in the British Isles, situated amidst Virginia's horse country. The club gets its name from the land's former use, a raspberry field. The scenic terrain overlooks to Catoctin Mountains and there are still a few raspberry bushes dotting the course. By far the layout's most formidable challenges come from the deep, stacked pot bunkers that make it truly feel like a classic Scottish golf course. There are also water hazards on a few holes. The course's signature is the par-4 third hole, which is long but plays downhill all the way. The 10th hole, another par 4, is one of the toughest. The landing area is generous off the tee but there is a creek and pond to the left and fairway bunkers on the right.

What a great course
This was a wonderful course, great lines and very challenging. The only downfall would be the pace of play which was a little slow.
Solid Course
Raspberry is one the best daily fee courses in the DC area. Course was in great shape but lots of mowed grass laying around. Seems like that is always the case out there. Guess they have to wait several days after a rain to mow. One of the biggest negatives with Raspberry is no half way house and you can't really go by Clubhouse at the turn. Very fun course to play though.
Great twilight deals for a great course
Each time Ive played here I've played discounted golf, most recently found a deal for a 4:20p tee time and finished my round in a little less than 3 hours, for $19. The course is always in great shape, greens are fast, staff is friendly. The clubhouse isn't amazing, but there is a good practice facility. Beautiful course.
very challenging and beautiful views
enjoy the course along with the pratice area. staff is very friendly and helpful. wished more golfers played it forward, course plays longer than the yardage indicates
Great course in very good condition. Pace of play was a killer though.
The course was in great condition and even though it had been raining most of the day, there were only a couple holes that were cart path only. Rain stopped on #7, there was never any build up of water, the course must really drain well. My only criticism is the pace of play. Over 5 hours to play and never saw a ranger or other employee trying to speed things up.
Not worth the money.
Nice layout but a little tattered around the edges. The greens were bumpy and in poor condition - a lot of patches of Poa Anna. Not sure this course is worth the money, especially considering all the other choices in N.VA. Since Raspberry Management runs a number of courses in the area you would think the course that bears their name would be in great shape. Maybe it's the economy, but it seems like they could be doing a lot more to make this a 'premium' course.
Really beautiful landscape and the course was great, challenging yet fair, greens were true for the most part.
Only problem was lack of attention to our need to get food and drink while playing. The cart path design causes players to not use the clubhouse when making the turn (probably to speed up play), but we only saw the beverage cart once all day and it was early in the round. So too bad for them; we would have spent more money if they had more beverage carts!
Very Nice Course!
The course is in very good shape! The greens are coming back in nicely from recent aeration.
Fantastic course
Single digit handicap - playing from tips was challenging and yet fair. Course in great shape for early season. A must play.
Great course!
Had not played this track in several years, good to to play it again. it is one of the better courses around. Well maintained.
The right mix of a challenging layout, and beautiful scenery!
We enjoyed our round yesterday and would have had a 4.25 hour round if the threesome in front of us realized that if you can't get to the green in regulation, you shouldn't be playing from the tips. As it was, with those jokers in front of us, it was a 5 hour round. Seriously, my regular foursome usually shoots between 85 and 90 and we know to play either the whites, or maybe the blue tees. Yesterday at Raspberry Falls, we had a threesome in front of us that was playing from the back tees, and they had no chance of breaking 100 given their lack of game and distance. Very frustrating to follow them and be waiting on every shot,. However, we still had very enjoyable round, and the course was in great shape.
Greens in good shape for early season..
Greens were in great shape...Although, golfers playing there should not be so lazy as to not fix their ball marks. How hard is it? Takes 20 seconds...
Fairways were nice as well...Good early season conditions...
A favorite course, early in the season, still coming in. Staff needs some attitude and customer service calibration.
I've played the course several times. Considering there was snow on the grounds two weeks ago, the tees and greens were in pretty good shape. The greens were sanded and bumpy, and the bunkers needed some work, which slowed things down for everyone. Regardless its early season and I would have rated them higher if not for the overly zealous marshal, who at 4 in the afternoon, suddenly invoked that if we weren't waiting in the fairway for the group in front of us, then we were too slow. This despite the fact that we had an open par 5 behind us, and people putting on the green of the short par 4 we were on. Three holes earlier he had stated we were in perfect position. We played in 4:38. Obviously marring an otherwise fine afternoon.
Gary Player, Gary Player
Gary Player's signature course. Some beautiful and memorable holes. The greens and fairways are well maintained even in winter. Yet it is not particularly a difficult or challenging course. It has a beautiful clubhouse, so it could be wonderful for corporate entertainment. It's not worth the retail high prices but was well-worth the GolfNow's special price of $20. Thank you, GolfNow.
I played when it was 35 degrees. It is one of the best public courses in NO. VA
The views from the 3rd tee are special. What I like is that none of the holes are anywhere near homes. It is the country club experience with a public price and the staff is grade A
Highly ranked, well deserved
I played in the middle of January so the course wasn't in the best shape which is to be expected but the layout was good and the surrounding were beautiful. Still a great course. One of Golf Magazines top public courses in VA.
Great layout, great price
Great layout, challenges you with difficult holes and gives you opportunities with moderate holes.
A good test with awesome views and vistas.
One of the better courses in the area.
With the GolfNow price just a great bargain!!!
This course has good features
