Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club offers the traditional links course reminiscent of those found in the British Isles, situated amidst Virginia's horse country. The club gets its name from the land's former use, a raspberry field. The scenic terrain overlooks to Catoctin Mountains and there are still a few raspberry bushes dotting the course. By far the layout's most formidable challenges come from the deep, stacked pot bunkers that make it truly feel like a classic Scottish golf course. There are also water hazards on a few holes. The course's signature is the par-4 third hole, which is long but plays downhill all the way. The 10th hole, another par 4, is one of the toughest. The landing area is generous off the tee but there is a creek and pond to the left and fairway bunkers on the right.

Raspberry Falls - fun and challenging and no 2 holes alike!

Played on 11/25/2012
Golf now tee time price of $35
Course was in great shape, greens were fast and tricky. No straight putts. Course is very pretty and wavy. Almost no flat lies to be found. Par 3 #12 is the best par 3 in the NOVA,/MD area.
Back 9 is 5 shots harder then the front 9 (or so it seemed)
Overall a great course to play,. If you like a challenge with great conditions and beautiful holes then this is the place to play.

Good shape. Nice course.

Definitely recommend if you can get a little bit of a deal. Rack rate is relatively steep.

a gem in Virginia

I last played RF about 6 years ago and it remains in absolutely beautiful condition; easily one of the best in the State.

Great Course...Bad Timing

We played this course on Sat (Oct 14) with a Hot Deal that we found on Golf Now for a 1:50 PM tee time. When we arrived at the course, we noticed that there was also a GolfNow AM Tour event that was taking place and found out that we were the 1st group to tee off that was NOT part of the event. Needless to say, there were some SERIOUS hackers out there that didn't know course etiquette and obviously didn't care about losing daylight. It took us 2 hrs 58 mins to complete 9 holes! The course marshalls did the best they could, but this was ridiculous! The total round took 5 hrs 42 mins and we finished the last hold in the dark. This is one of my favorite courses in the area, so I am certain that I will play it again....just not if there is an event going on prior to me teeing off.

AWESOME!!!

Challenging but not overly challenging. Avoid the bunkers, there are plenty of them in the fairways and protecting the greens. Although it is a joy hitting it in one of the very deep bunkers. Its much like the links courses played in the British Open but without the strong winds.

Beautiful Scenery

I am always curious to play non-private courses that I would consider pricey to see if it is worth the money. Raspberry Falls costs more than most of the courses I usually play in Northern Virginia, but I think they are worth the price. They have a well maintained course, beautiful background, and a private course feel to it. The fairway is forgiving as it is pretty wide open, but they have some of the deepest bunkers I've seen. Luckily, I didn't land in the sand traps when I played. The marshal was very friendly and gave tips on playing some of the holes when he would pass. What really stood out to me about this course is the gorgeous background. I recommended this course to my friends and they all agreed it is a very nice course. Again, it is pricey but worth checking out at least once.

Is this course slipping?

Played in early September. Kind of an imperfect storm - heavy aeration around the greens and recent rain made most lies very bumpy and muddy around the green. Hopefully they will get this course in better conditon. Definitely not anywhere near good condition.

Treat Yourself.

Excellent layout set in an outstanding environment of rolling hills and beautiful views. An extremely well maintained course with super competent pro's to hone your game skills.
Outstanding practice facility at the ready before your round, or pay a small fee and use it for as long as you like for the day.

What course is this???

This course used to be perfect. Great greens, perfect fairways and Navigation units on the golf carts. Now none of the above. If you pay full price for any tee time, it's a waste of money. $25 is the max anyone should pay for a round.

Nice layout.

Course has a great layout and fun to play. Generally the course is in very good conditon. This time I followed a rain storm so it was pretty wet.
