Hot Times at Timberlake
First, that staff was very friendly and advised that the course was very dry because of the lack of rain. WTBS, I was only disappointed as the layout of the course was very inviting and appeared to be a great challenge to play. However, the fairways were extremely dry and grass was thin and brown. The front nine of the Pines, greens appeared to be in the better condition than those on the back nine, the Magnolia.
My departing impression of the course was, wish I was here to play when the course was in a better condition.
As a side note, the day we played at 1000 temps had already reached 90 degrees on it's way to 102...
The routine maintenance, cart paths, shrubs and tree trimming were in great need. Some cart paths are in dire need of repair or replacement
Poor experience
The greens on this course were extremely poor with some having dirt patches. No water throughout the corse and nobody coming around to offer drinks. There is a drink machine on one of the holes but it doesn’t work. Sand traps were hard and the course seemed like it hadn’t been watered in weeks. Will never be playing at this course again. Food was good though.
Two completely different courses
Played Pines on the front nine and the greens were in good shape. Not the case for Magnolia on the back nine. Crabgrass and bald spots made putting erratic.
A shell of it''s former glory.
What an embarrassment,! This used to be a solid Four star course with great customer service that everyone wanted to play. Now, I would rate my overall experience at one to two stars at the most. The greens are in horrible condition, the course is poorly maintained and manicured, the cart paths are in terrible disrepair and border line dangerous to drive on in many areas, the dated, motorized golf carts looked like they were purchased used at an auction to save money, and the staff in the pro shop looked like they were recruited from a biker bar. We only saw two other singles playing on the course the whole time that we were there, and I can understand why. The only redeeming qualities for the course that I can think of are a nice club house, and the driving range/practice facility which has a section that is covered to protect you from the weather, and has table and chairs to rest and have a beverage. Oh, and the final insult was that there was not one drop of water to be had on the entire course or in the club house on a day where the heat index was well into the 90's. This place is in serious need to new management.
Same as Last Time
Sand traps and greens need attention… few yardage markers on fairways…driving range nice but putting greens closed…staff friendly and efficient
Great time!
This was my first time on this coarse. I had a great game. Love the layout. Some greens dry but overall for the value I think it was worth every penny. I had lunch and it was great. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely return
Greens need some work
Didn't complete round got rained out after 6 holes completed.
Great day of golf
Was a little leery because of the reviews I read. Glad I came. Had a great round and the people were friendly and helpful.
If you’re looking for a PGA or a Troon course then you’ll leave a bad review. If you want a good day of golf this is the place.
Grilled chicken sandwich is the best in town!!
Great Layout
Great layout but needs some serious love. Greens were spotty at best. I am sure in its heyday it was fantastic.
Enjoyed Playing the Dogwood/Pines Courses
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant and Proshop well maintained. Tee time on schedule....beverage cart on course. Driving range was nice but putting greens were closed. Greens and sand traps needed work but overall course was average shape for this time of year. I’ll be back..
The greens really need works bad.
Most of the green were bares, little grass left, there was no true roll.
