Great time, great course
Had a great time playing yesterday. It was my first time and I was very pleased. Staff was super helpful and very friendly. Had a top notch experience.

Good Value
Course conditions were not bad considering the recent weather. This course attracts a lot of beginning and slow golfers. We saw one twosome of young men drive their cart round the back edge and right edge of #16 green when there was no reason to do so except for laziness. An occasional appearance by the marshall on duty would have helped.

Very good.But..
Golf fees are cheap and the golf course is in pretty good condition. I'm still like there. The problem is that there are too many fruit flies. Especially around the green, it is difficult for fly flies to come into the face and mouth and concentrate on playing..

The warm and humid weather combined with our proximity to the Potomac River give us a large population of flying insects. We recommend applying bug spray, specifically "No Natz" bug spray, which can be purchased at our Golf Shop. -Algonkian Golf Course Management
Greens need work
Greens here are so furry! You could learn from Brambleton whose greens are quicker and roll true.
Thank you for your review. The greens are mowed daily, however, there may be times they can feel a bit “furry” after recent rains. We are glad to hear your feedback about our sister course Brambleton’s greens. Algonkian’s and Brambleton’s green complexes are much different, leading to different playing conditions throughout the year. Soil type, grass species, weather, and many more factors play a role. Our golf maintenance team works tirelessly to maintain good playing conditions throughout the year, specifically on the greens. Logw this course. In a quiet area along the Potomac, ezcept.fpe the flights landing at Dulles. So if you are a plane watcher, this course ia for.you. but overall, fantastic conditions for a public course. 4 hour round today.

Beautiful course but infested with water flies/insects In every hole!
Thank you for your review. Although we strive to earn greater than a 3-star rating, we appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about bugs. During the Summer, our hot and humid weather and location next to the Potomac River provide us with many bugs such as mosquitos and gnats. As with any other wildlife, this is their habitat.
