Very good.But..
Golf fees are cheap and the golf course is in pretty good condition. I'm still like there. The problem is that there are too many fruit flies. Especially around the green, it is difficult for fly flies to come into the face and mouth and concentrate on playing..
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback on course conditions. Unfortunately, the bugs can get quite bad this time of the year. The warm and humid weather combined with our proximity to the Potomac River give us a large population of flying insects. We recommend applying bug spray, specifically "No Natz" bug spray, which can be purchased at our Golf Shop. -Algonkian Golf Course Management
Greens need work
Greens here are so furry! You could learn from Brambleton whose greens are quicker and roll true.
Thank you for your review. The greens are mowed daily, however, there may be times they can feel a bit “furry” after recent rains. We are glad to hear your feedback about our sister course Brambleton’s greens. Algonkian’s and Brambleton’s green complexes are much different, leading to different playing conditions throughout the year. Soil type, grass species, weather, and many more factors play a role. Our golf maintenance team works tirelessly to maintain good playing conditions throughout the year, specifically on the greens. Grate value
Logw this course. In a quiet area along the Potomac, ezcept.fpe the flights landing at Dulles. So if you are a plane watcher, this course ia for.you. but overall, fantastic conditions for a public course. 4 hour round today.

Beautiful course but infested with water flies/insects In every hole!
Thank you for your review. Although we strive to earn greater than a 3-star rating, we appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about bugs. During the Summer, our hot and humid weather and location next to the Potomac River provide us with many bugs such as mosquitos and gnats. As with any other wildlife, this is their habitat. Mid Summer Review
This course over the years just gets better and better. The course is in great shape (dry but that’s bc we haven’t had rain in a while). Rough was cut down nice, tee boxes and green were excellent! I know they are working on the range area but the need new turf mats, I was standing in craters! That the only bad thing I can say. I got a deal for $30, so I’m beyond happy with the course!

Keep Pace
My played11:40-12P. I arranged this outing for my birthday and all started well, but quickly became an annoyance when the Course Marshall was consistently hovering and harassing us..claiming that we needed to keep pace. This is false because my group was on pace and even playing scramble. The group in front of us are our friends and they let us know it was the group in front of them where one guy took multiple mulligans..but they weren’t bothered. Even at the midpoint, my friends went in to grab food and were told “you guys should take your food to go and play to keep pace”..whilst the group in front of them were sitting and eating in peace? Feels targeted. I just wanted to share my experience and disappointment. It’s a nice course, but hold the hovering and harassing, makes us very uncomfortable. Please train your staff to do better. Just because we are a group of women doesn’t mean we don’t know how to play. Your staff member/course mashall..whatever they are called kept harassing my group at least 5 times and stuck around to watch us play..no thank you.

Excellent Condidtion
I thought the course was in excellent condition. While the greens were slow, they were very receptive and rolled true. Given the amount of play the course gets, I was shocked to see how great the greens were. The layout was not super difficult, but the course has plenty of challenges.

Beautiful course wish I got what I paid for.
This is a great course. One thing that I can't stand is when they make every group a four some to get extra cash. If you're gonna do that charge less. I wanted to golf with my dad just us, that's why I paid for 2 people if I wanted to play with 4 I would've brought friends. $135 let me just play with my dad and keep to your tee time schedule cuz next time I'm walking off and demanding a refund.
Thank you for your review. As a public golf course, one of our goals is to create as much access to the course as possible. One of the ways we do this is by pairing players into foursomes. It is standard operating procedure for the course to pair players into groups of four, especially on busy days. If we did not do this, it would reduce the availability for other golfers to be able to play. You played on 6/15, which was a Saturday. Saturdays are very busy, which means it's especially important that we operate this way. Unfortunately, there are not enough tee times during the day to be able to accommodate starting only twosomes or singles.
