Definitely a must-play for the DFW-bound golfer, Cowboys Golf Club is first-class all the way, and fortunately void of the cheese that you might suspect from an NFL-themed course. In this location next to the Grapevine Municipal and the Lake Grapevine dam, Jeff Brauer created what might be his most impressive design. The design rolls through some impressively wild terrain that is loaded with every species of tree imaginable, creeks, 100-foot elevation changes, and thick habitat. Fingered bunkering gives the golf course a MacKenzie-like look, which goes well with the natural setting and traditional design. One of the better holes at Cowboys G.C. is no. 2, a skinny 376-yarder that plays over a creek and features a spectacularly difficult green that is bisected by a pesky ridge. Watch the pin placement here and keep the ball below the hole, or you'll end up with a 5-putt.

Decent course, friendly staff don’t ever need to play again
Course was ok. Greens were punched but were healing just fine. Fairways and bunkers were in good shape. Paid 80 bux total but coming from the east coast there are plenty more options for this price range that are more interesting. I’d describe the course as I high end muni. Complete with 5 somes, tee shirts(different groups) and balls flying all over the place. Had I paid rack rate (180) I would’ve been sorely disappointed. At 80- meh no biggie but don’t ever wanna go back.
This course is great for a quick after work round
Great course with their discounted tee time rates. Don’t think it’s worth the full price of $130 until the course conditions are better maintained. Great that food is included in the green fees though.
Always enjoy playing Cowboys
Staff very pleasant. Course was in good shape. Carts and GPS were perfect. Can't beat the value price of $70.
Slow
Pace of play is about 6 hours. No Marshalls anywhere
Not the cowboys we’re used to seeing
We play this course pretty regularly. At this point in the year, I’m not sure why their fairways are so thin, the rough is almost dirt... and the greens were slow and bumpy. I would not play this course right now... almost all the public courses are in better shape. We all know this place knows how to present a great golf course...i would give them some time to get back to doing that... unless you think you can eat $179 worth of food :)
Maintenance cutbacks?
We’ve played this course regularly over the past 2 years... this is the worst shape I’ve seen it. At this point in the year, there isn’t much reason for the fairways to be this thin... the hills on the sides of the holes to almost be bare... and the fairways aren’t really that green. The greens were slow and bumpy. We know this course knows how to present a great course... so we’re going to give them some time to figure it out before we go back again.
I really enjoyed the course.
Was a very pleasant round of golf. Fairways are generous and greens roll well. Food and drinks are offered for free on course. Pace of play was good. Course was in good shape.
