Bear Creek Golf Club - East Course
About
Bear Creek Golf Club's East Course is considered a tad more difficult than the West, with tighter fairways and smaller greens. Fourteen of 18 holes dogleg, so its label as a target course is accurate. Elevation changes make club selection a challenge, and the par 5s are tough to reach in two. No. 5 stands out on the front: a 385-yarder that doglegs left and involves an approach over water. No. 8 is longer (418 yards) and features water in the fairway landing area and along the right side. On the back, no. 15 is the signature, playing 432 yards and tricky because of the blind approach shot.

Lots of trees, good grass, bad bunkers
This is one of the best bargains for golf in DFW. Good grass and good greens. What is not good is the play from the bunkers. There is not near enough sand in the bunkers. It feels like hitting off of concrete.
The carts are good with a small screen gps, but there are no signs that tell you when to get off the fairway so they shut down without warning and make you do the backup of shame.
Great condition
Course is in really good shape. Rough is tall and you’ll easily lose a couple balls in there if you’re not paying attention!
Challenging and fun
Challenging, well maintained course. Large aircraft landing add a surreal extra level of difficulty on East. Level of players and pace of play has always been proper and fun. Staff is great.
Good Day
Course in good condition, except for traps being thin on sand. Too many holes roped off for cart path only.
Great day!
Played NC West and course was in excellent condition. One hole had a temporary tee box but that should be resolved soon.
Beverage service came around a few times to help quench our thirst.
Pace a little slow on a few holes but we think it’s because they wanted to pull pin out every hole. SMH
Friendly staff.
Definitely return.
Will Play Again
Everything was good except tee boxes need some work on East course. Would play again and recommend
Good course, practice green is much different from the actual greens
The course was nice. Got piled up really bad because of some blind tee shot holes. Other than that it was good took about 5-1/2 hours to play this course which is bad but the course was in decent condition and the staff was amazing, also the putting green was very VERY slow compared to the actual greens so it was a surprise when we got to the first hole but other than that it was nice
Wouldn’t complain if the pace was better.
Only thing bad about the course is the sand could be softer. The real complaint is that it should not take more than 5 hours to finish. Had to wait 10-15 minutes to tee off on a few holes but that is not the clubs fault. Players need to drop and hit if they can’t find their ball after a couple minutes of looking. Quit wasting everyone’s time behind you.
The greens were not consistent and were bumpy due to brown spots/cuts on greens
West course in really good shape
The course was in really good shape. Specially the fairways and greens. Bunkers were a bit washed out, but that was understandable because of a pretty big storm hitting just the day before. Tee boxes were a bit worn out. All in all, the course played fine and pace of play was decent, considering the amount of play this course gets.
Top 5 Course in DFW
I absolutely loved playing Bear Creek West. The conditions have been spectacular during the fall winter and now spring. The staff is always friendly and the value is above other courses at a higher rate.
