Blue Mash - Lovely Courae
Excellent course and nice layout with mix of parkland and at times links like. Course was in great condition - only criticism would be some bunkers need more sand and players need to repair pitch marks on greens!
Just about perfect!
10 minute stagger tee times is a plus!
Starter was a gent from the UK and couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful!
Greens were punched recently. Had called about a week prior to our tee time and they stated they had not punched and did not plan to anytime soon so that’s disappointing
Course conditions
Its a shame golfers here don’t fill divots, repair ball marks or rake bunkers at Blue Mash.. I’ve never seen Any courses in this kind of shape due to golfers neglect. Just a shame because its a nice layout.
Great condition, fast greens with considerable break
I played here about 8 years ago and it was in excellent condition and it still is. very challenging, some long par 4's, reasonable per 3's, fast greens with considerable slope. I played with another single and a two-some, all were good players, which was nice. Shot Plus 3 on the front and Plus 5 on the back.
Awesome course
I thought this course was challenging yet rewarded good shots. Conditions were great, however you can tell it gets a lot of play from “hacks” who don’t repair pitch marks. Not the courses fault per se, but the idiots who don’t fix their pitch marks. Greens were a 7 1/2 to 8 out of 10. I liked the course and I’d definitely go back
Pace of Play/Course Difficulty
This golf course is a great challenge. I really enjoy playing it once a year.
Having said that, I was off at 8:20 am on this day, so the 4 some I was with had to be one of the first 7 or so groups off. Even with that scenario, the round was still 5 hours. I shudder to think how long the afternoon folks had to wait. The course had at least 5 different marshals on the course TRYING, and I emphasize the word TRYING to speed up play.
Personally I think more marshals and a 4 hour round standard isn’t going to help this course. I think they simply have the course set up too difficult. I understand you want to keep the course as close to scorecard as possible but on weekends and days you have a full tee sheet I think pulling all the tees up 30 yards will def help. This course always plays longer than the yardage anyway so moving tees up will not affect the landing areas or fairway bunkering at all. Just my two cents.
