Stonecreek Golf Club
About
The course is set on a 165-acre parcel off Hwy. 213 in Oregon City. Built at an estimated cost of $7.5 million, it features two distinct nines - the front half situated in a meadow-like setting and the back nine winding through towering Douglas fir trees and bordering wetlands. In addition to its namesake Stone Creek, the course has three lakes, four wetlands areas and 41 bunkers. There are four sets of tees, playing from 5,123 to the "Jacobsen" tees at 6,840 yards.
A full-service pro shop and deli are located in the clubhouse, which has a spacious outdoor deck overlooking the 18th green. Next to the clubhouse is a large tented area for private parties, tournament function, weddings and other catered events. An expansive 6 1/2-acre driving range with all grass tees and target greens serves as a convenient on-site practice area
Another unique aspect of Stone Creek Golf Club is the excellent drainage. Significant resources were expended to ensure the driest course conditions for year-round play. According to Golf Course Superintendent David Phipps, "At most courses in the Northwest during the winter months, the ball doesn't roll much, but here you'll see the ball actually bouncing down the fairway in January."
Two of the most scenic holes are par-3s. the 180-yd. No. 6 played over a lake from the Jacobsen tees, and the 141-yd. No. 14, which necessitates a drive over wetlands and consideration of a stack of boulders protecting the green. One of Peter Jacobsen's favorite holes is the par-4 ninth, a 397-yard challenge from the back tees with two fairways to choose from - an upper elevated landing area with a clear view of the green; or a lower approach through a narrow opening between bunkers.
After a round of golf, golfers can relax at the clubhouse with outdoor seating on a large deck overlooking the 18th green
With its large tented area for special events, Stone Creek Golf Club is a prime spot for hosting tournaments, weddings, corporate outings and other large groups.

Best Value in Portland
Great course with wide variety of hole design. Fairways fast and firm. Greens excellent. A fine challenge for low handicappers. Best value in the entire Portland metro area. NOT a course for beginners or high handicappers...do not play here if you shoot in the 90's, you will not enjoy the difficulty. You will lose balls and have difficulty with the numerous deep sand bunkers.
Good course, great practice facilities, friendly people, overall good value.
Good course, ample fairways, great greens with good speed. Nice country setting so fairly quiet when compared to a city muni. All the practice facilities you want, including grass driving range.
Very Enjoyable Course
Staff was friendly, helped with pace of play. Finished in 4hrs and 15 min., very good on a busy weekend. Course was in good condition, always a joy to play. On 15, be sure to aim right of center over the white stake on the hill to insure you stay out of trouble on the left. One of my top 5 courses in the area.
This course has a great twilight rate.
$31 with a cart for a twilight time is an amazing deal. To top it off the course is super nice which makes the deal a very good deal! Overall Stone Creek is a wonderful place to play. If I had to say something negative it would be about the sand in the bunkers. The sand seems wet even when we've had dry days for weeks. Personally, I don't like the bunkers watered, but if you stay on the fairways and green then you'll do great! Cheers
Tough But Fair
Good placement makes for a good scoring round. Many of the greens have sand in play. Lots of drinking water placed on the course along with port-a-potties. Drains really well during the winter.
Had a great day of fun with friends.
Course was challenging in that you have to stay in the fairway (like many other courses) but the set-up on most holes is fun and the course is very well kept. The long rough is NOT fun.
My favorite local course - 6 handicap
I am obsessed with this course. It's always an extreme challenge every round. If it's not the weather and subtle winds (which most people neglect to take into account), hard greens or difficult driving holes on the back 9, it's the actual reading of the greens that will get you. Don't over read greens on slight breakers but DO over read greens on the obvious big benders. I've played this course a 100 times and the greens still baffle me. Great condition. Great staff. I don't want to play anywhere else locally.
Challenging course with great scenery
Played at twilight and easily got in 9 holes in 90 minutes. Fairways and greens are in great shape and bunkers are too (unfortunately spent too much time in them as they are plentiful)
Good year round course, some challenging holes.
Course was in good shape, greens too firm to hold, some of the back 9 holes require accurate drives to survive.
Stonecreek
Very enjoyable. Great condition. Staff very nice..
This Golf Club has a private club "feel"
This golf club is a real gem. Warm and friendly staff greets you in the pro shop. I am a senior and the fees are very reasonable. The golf course was maintained remarkably well and the greens were fast and true. An official starter met us on the first tee and Marshall's were visible periodically during the round maintaining pace of play. We finished in 4 hours and then relaxed with a beer on the outdoor patio.
Clearly the finest public golf course experience of my life.
So slow!
Tee times every 9 minutes makes for a very long round. Had to wait nearly 10 minutes every shot. Course was in amazing shape. If I play here again it'll be in the middle of the week
Stone Creek
Very well kept course. Greens all played true. Best value around.
Beautiful Layout
Stone Creek is a beautiful layout. A REAL golf course. The conditions were excellent and staff was friendly. A couple of blind shots were disconcerting, and one par three was only 75 yards.
My foursome had a great time.
Great variety for a local course'
Love the views. Love the challenges of each hole. Only wishi had more time in my day to play again!
Sunny & hot
We were in the *90s when we started and though it was too hot for most, and the course was wide opened the four of us had a great time. The fairways was green and lush and the greens was quick. I really like this course!
Greens in great shape
The course is in perfect shape at this time of year. Fairways and greens are perfect. Greens are fast which makes it easier to see the break and hit your putts.
The pace of play was also perfect with all the groups moving at comfortable speed. I never felt rushed or was hitting into anyone.
Overall I thought this was one of my better days at this course.
I'll be back.
Stone Creek
Great course, it is a fair test for all skill levels. I had a great time and look forward to playing it again.
awesome
Love this course... beautiful, challenging, and VERY well maintained. The twilight rate is the best value around in my opinion!
One Complaint only
We were surprised when we showed up to a packed course, and found that we'd been inserted smack dab in the middle of a shotgun start tournament. It was kind of unsettling, and we felt a bit out of place at the start. Though it ended up working out okay for us, I think that's really something that should be noted when offering the discounted green fee.
Yup, greens too firm to hold unless you use high spin balls like the Pro V series. Otherwise you're chipping all day
