Stonecreek Golf Club
About
The course is set on a 165-acre parcel off Hwy. 213 in Oregon City. Built at an estimated cost of $7.5 million, it features two distinct nines - the front half situated in a meadow-like setting and the back nine winding through towering Douglas fir trees and bordering wetlands. In addition to its namesake Stone Creek, the course has three lakes, four wetlands areas and 41 bunkers. There are four sets of tees, playing from 5,123 to the "Jacobsen" tees at 6,840 yards.
A full-service pro shop and deli are located in the clubhouse, which has a spacious outdoor deck overlooking the 18th green. Next to the clubhouse is a large tented area for private parties, tournament function, weddings and other catered events. An expansive 6 1/2-acre driving range with all grass tees and target greens serves as a convenient on-site practice area
Another unique aspect of Stone Creek Golf Club is the excellent drainage. Significant resources were expended to ensure the driest course conditions for year-round play. According to Golf Course Superintendent David Phipps, "At most courses in the Northwest during the winter months, the ball doesn't roll much, but here you'll see the ball actually bouncing down the fairway in January."
Two of the most scenic holes are par-3s. the 180-yd. No. 6 played over a lake from the Jacobsen tees, and the 141-yd. No. 14, which necessitates a drive over wetlands and consideration of a stack of boulders protecting the green. One of Peter Jacobsen's favorite holes is the par-4 ninth, a 397-yard challenge from the back tees with two fairways to choose from - an upper elevated landing area with a clear view of the green; or a lower approach through a narrow opening between bunkers.
After a round of golf, golfers can relax at the clubhouse with outdoor seating on a large deck overlooking the 18th green
With its large tented area for special events, Stone Creek Golf Club is a prime spot for hosting tournaments, weddings, corporate outings and other large groups.

After so much rain & this time of year - great shape fairways the greens were a bit ro
Good drainage after all the wet conditions leading to that day, and great pace of play. Overall really nice experience.
One of my favorite courses in Portland.
Very well maintained. 18 holes greens were if good shape.
Scenic and Challenging
Photo opportunities on many holes. This course is a a no nonsense fun course. Will be returning here often
Great GolfNow Deal
Stone Creek is a well maintained and challenging public coarse. Regular rates are a little high, but the GolfNow rates are fantastic.
Nice course, but backed up
Played for a really good deal on Sunday afternoon. Nice course, they had recently punched the greens so they were pretty much useless for a serious round.
That said, there was a youth tournament going on that was backing up the pace of play, probably due partially to the condition of the greens.
The ranger was really, really nice about it and came to apologize, and offered to move people around to make it better.
I'd go back. Nice course.
A bit expensive
This course is normally very busy, slows the pace. The back 9 is very scenic, but also more difficult. Condition is always very good. Without Golfnow pricing, we would never play here because of cost.
Spectacular greens
Poorly managed pace of play and seemingly uncaring staff when approached about it
Almost like two courses in one.
The front nine is open and airy. The back nine has some steep surprises and blind tee shots that require good placement. Next time I'll leave the driver in the bag for those...The greens were great, with nice roll-out consistency. Very enjoyable overall.
THIS IS THE NICEST PUBLIC GOLF COURSE IN PORTLAND

I like it!
My 2nd round here this year.
Faster greens than most local courses. Quite a few ball marks and divots, but greens and fairways in very good condition.
Staff is courteous, and start was on-time on a busy, warm weekday early afternoon. Ranger even came around with an ice water cooler for refills.
Most holes have plenty of room for missed fairway drives, though it is a bit tighter on the back nine.
I will definitely be back!
Pace could be a bit faster, our 4-some was 4.5 hrs...should have been no more than 4.
I would say it's better than average course and value for $.
Fun and challenging for all levels
Great staff, great course with a good array of difficulty. Some ravines to negotiate, only moderate altitude changes, wide open and then narrow fairways. 4 groups of 4 let me play through as I was by myself so my experience with the players was great. The fairways and greens are on the better side of conditions that I've played in. As a single with a cart, my PT was around 3.5 hours. Overall it's a great course for anyone.
I little of something for all skill levels.
Stone Creek is a great course for all skill levels. Most of the holes still require you to drive it straight, but if you are crooked, most of the time you can find your ball and still have a chance to advance the ball a fair distance. The greens were in great shape when we played. They also do a great job of not over watering the fairways. Stone Creek is very walkable with only a couple big climbs on the back nine.
Great value by using Golfnow
Price was right, but play was long. The course was well marshaled, but a bit slow. We had a great time anyway
Well maintained. Good value
Got an excellent deal through GolfNow. Course was well maintained and had a challenging back 9. Pace of play was fast. Would have finished in 3 1/2 hrs If not for backup around hole 14. Lots of bunkers surrounding greens which made bump and run shots very difficult on most holes. Played from the whites because the others in my foursome played from that location. Probably will play from the blues next time which would put the fairway bunkers in play. I hit my drives about 260yds on average which took most of the fairway bunkers out of play on most holes (could fly most of them with ease). Would definitely recommend this course.
Super Fun Course!!
The drive to Stone Creek took me about 35 minutes. I would drive further for this course. For a public course, I was very impressed with the maintenance and friendliness of staff. It was very well maintained, with all bunkers being well raked and free of debris. The fairways rolled very well and were trimmed tightly. Greens rolled almost perfectly as far as I'm concerned. Not crazy fast, but not laggy slow, either. Many of the greens were quite undulated. They had a heavy-to-light roll to them and given different pin locations, could have been very difficult. For someone of my skill level (novice) they were already tough. A couple holes on the back would have been much more difficult had I not been playing with someone very familiar with the course. There are some green locations and fairway slopes that would have ruined a couple holes for me.
The overall difficulty I would say was not easy, but certainly not difficult. Especially for a very skilled player. Many fairways were wide and forgiving, and if you're a long hitter many hazards can be carried off the tee.
I am really looking forward to going back to Stone Creek. I had a great time!!
Great Course
Received 5* service. This is an excellent course and challenging in places. Many Thanks to Davis in the pro shop. He was like our very own tour guide. We were visiting Portland from the UK and he kindly put together a list of must do's for us whilst we were out on the course. I just hope when he comes to the UK next year for the Open that the service is reciprocated.
Good luck first-timers!
If you like challenging tee shots with blind landing areas and tricky greens with sneaky subtle breaks, then this course is for you! It definitely helps to play this course a few times before knowing all of the intricacies. But beware of the back nine bottleneck that is created on 12-15 as you can expect a long wait on each of those holes (even on an average weekday). This absolutely ruined our round having to slow down and take 30+ minutes per hole down the stretch. And the "Player Assistant" did nothing to help groups move along quicker...just drove around real slow and waved at people? Also, make sure to call ahead and ask if they have sanded the greens -- this made the short game a bit unnatural feeling with the touch around the greens. Overall, this is a fun course to play and I will definitely be teeing it up here again!
Beautiful setting and a nice course layout.
Great views and interesting holes. Very fair golf course and in great condition. Greens put fast and true.
WOW
Great course in exellent condition. The greens putted
True and smoothly and a big plus with me.They had
enough sand in the bunkers to perform shots as they
are supposed to. Love this course shot a 75 on Sunday.
One of best courses in Portland area for cost and condition.
Course is in excellent condition from tee to green. Early morning rounds run between 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Appreciate the management running deals and not jacking the green fees up to $50.00-$60.00 for walking 18. Feels like a lot of courses have raised their prices searching for more profit. I get it, it's a business but how much money do you need to make?
