Stonecreek Golf Club
About
The course is set on a 165-acre parcel off Hwy. 213 in Oregon City. Built at an estimated cost of $7.5 million, it features two distinct nines - the front half situated in a meadow-like setting and the back nine winding through towering Douglas fir trees and bordering wetlands. In addition to its namesake Stone Creek, the course has three lakes, four wetlands areas and 41 bunkers. There are four sets of tees, playing from 5,123 to the "Jacobsen" tees at 6,840 yards.
A full-service pro shop and deli are located in the clubhouse, which has a spacious outdoor deck overlooking the 18th green. Next to the clubhouse is a large tented area for private parties, tournament function, weddings and other catered events. An expansive 6 1/2-acre driving range with all grass tees and target greens serves as a convenient on-site practice area
Another unique aspect of Stone Creek Golf Club is the excellent drainage. Significant resources were expended to ensure the driest course conditions for year-round play. According to Golf Course Superintendent David Phipps, "At most courses in the Northwest during the winter months, the ball doesn't roll much, but here you'll see the ball actually bouncing down the fairway in January."
Two of the most scenic holes are par-3s. the 180-yd. No. 6 played over a lake from the Jacobsen tees, and the 141-yd. No. 14, which necessitates a drive over wetlands and consideration of a stack of boulders protecting the green. One of Peter Jacobsen's favorite holes is the par-4 ninth, a 397-yard challenge from the back tees with two fairways to choose from - an upper elevated landing area with a clear view of the green; or a lower approach through a narrow opening between bunkers.
After a round of golf, golfers can relax at the clubhouse with outdoor seating on a large deck overlooking the 18th green
With its large tented area for special events, Stone Creek Golf Club is a prime spot for hosting tournaments, weddings, corporate outings and other large groups.

2 completely different 9's
Front 9 is relatively easy, gentle rolling wide fairways - 2nd nine - narrow, very hilly and tough - like 2 completely different courses
5-Somes????
I love this course but couldn't believe they would allow 5-Somes on the course, especially on a busy day.
Great course
Course is well maintained and an all around fun track. Back 9 is much harder than the front. Greens are good and fairways are great. Sand traps need to have better sand and more of it, especially for how much time you spend in them at this course if your not on your game.
Great Find in Oregon City!
I was down in the Portland area on business, and wanted to play a different course. Based on the reviews on GolfNow.com, I decided to give Stone Creek a go, and I'm very glad I did. Stone Creek is a challenging track, yet it rewards well-placed shots. Local knowledge is a real plus here; fortunately I was linked up with a group of golfers who know Stone Creek intimately, and were of a similar skill level to me. (Okay, they were better overall) Greens were mostly fast and pretty easy to read, but a number of hole locations were just plain nasty. Fairways were very well maintained. I really appreciated the many yardage markings on the cart paths and in the fairways, because a number of distances were deceptive if I had gone by visual estimate alone. Golf carts are silent, smooth, and in great condition.
As other reviewers have noted, the staff at Stone Creek are outstanding! Every single one of the employees I encountered were friendly, helpful, and focused on doing whatever it took to enhance my experience. By the way, it was a hot, humid afternoon when I played, but there were plenty of ice water coolers positioned around the course, and the refreshment cart made regular appearances throughout the round. Golfers here take the pace of play thing very seriously, which meant our foursome rarely had to wait on the tee, and when we did, it was a minute or less.
Always good people
You always have nice people to play with here. Course is in great shape. Can't wait to go play again...
Great course
The course was in excellent condition and very well maintained. Very good bargain
very friendly staff.....one of my favorite courses
I always enjoy Stone Creek......the staff treats you very well unlike other courses where they are indifferent or stuffy.....the course is well kept and the setting is great!
Great Course.
Great Course, Good conditions, Beautiful views. Back 9 very challenging. Don't miss this course.
Best Value!
This course is one of the best in the Portland Metro area. Always well maintained and fun to play. Staff are always super friendly and when you compare green fees to other courses, you'll see this truly the best value in town.
Great course, great value, slow play
Greens and bunkers are as good as any around. Great features and aesthetics. We get backed up almost every time we play though.
Poor customer service can be overlooked by good course conditions and a fun, challenging track
When I arrived at the course to check in I had to deal with two difficult people in the pro shop. Neither person believed me when I told them about the 2 for 1 coupon and booking on golfnow.com, and they tried to make me pay again at check in. Finally they called in one of the higher ups and I explained I had booked using golfnow.com and had used a 2 for 1 coupon I received at the golf show. His comment to me was "we didn't give anything like that out at the golf show." It wasn't until I could find my confirmation email on my phone (thank goodness it was still there), that they relented and allowed me and my partners to check in. And even after I showed them the confirmation email there was no apology for their rude attitudes. Very frustrating.
At the first tee the starter informed me the longest turn time of the day was 2 hours and they expected us to keep pace. I questioned him about a group playing as a five-some in front of us and he said they do that every Friday but they "play quick." Our turn time was 2:20, and the back nine took longer. There were some slow groups in front of the five-some, but I don't think letting five guys out was helping the lack of pace.
The overall course conditions were great. Longer grass outside the rough made shots severely off line penalized. The greens were fast and nearly completely recovered from plugging and sanding late last month. Fairways and rough were dry and without soft spots. The front nine is significantly more open, with the back nine forcing you to make quality golf shots and hit your targets. Stone Creek is a great course once you get passed the lack of friendliness in the pro shop. Definitely one of my favorite courses in the valley.
Fun Course
Stone Creek is a fun course that was in very good shape when I played. Greens very smooth, fairways tight, lush rough, all bunkers raked. It has a bit of everything; easy par 5's, tough par 4's and tricky par 3's. Played from different tee boxes, it will be a challenge or relaxing round of golf. Good views of Mt. Hood and very peaceful setting. The focus is on golf with good practice facilities. If you are looking for a fancy clubhouse, this isn't the place. If you want a fun day of golf on a well maintained facility, this is the ticket. Advice: For your first visit, seek out info on holes 12, 13, 15 to avoid trouble, these are a little tricky and require precise distance and accuracy off the tee. Hit 'em straight.
Amazing course!!!
The course layout is interesting! Very challenging. Greens were plugged and sanded a couple weeks ago but still ran fast. Great course would play there again in a minute.
Great Public Course
The staff was super friendly. Course was in amazing shape and pace of play is always good at this course. One of the best public courses I have played and always look forward to my rounds at Stone Creek.
Greens were bad!
This is usually an excellent course but they failed to notify when booking a tee time that the greens were punched and sanded last week. The greens were terrible!
A great challenge for any golfer
The course was in great shape. It has some very deep green side bunkers which can be very challenging. The greens ran very true and they were fast.
course in great shape for March, draining well.
Expect a lot of play, partially because it is one of the best draining courses in Portland. But the round was still right on , they kept it moving nicely.
Amazing Track, loved my time there!
It was another wet rainy day in Oregon, but Stone Creek is not only a wonderful design it's also a well built course. It drains well and offers you playability even in adverse conditions. I would highly recomend this course for players of all levels... however if you can play on a dry day I'm sure it will be even more enjoyable!
Guys in Pro shop need to learn some manners and being polite
In my opinion Any person behind counter represent the business and they need to be properly trained or at least try not to ruin golfer's day from the pro shop.
This course plays good all year around
This course drains well and is playable year round, it is challenging greens are will graded by deep bunkers, greens roll true.
has beautiful views of Mt, hood, very walk able . it takes just about every club in the bag to play.
one of my favorite courses
