Excellent course that is always in as good of shape as any in the area
The course has several risk/reward holes with firm, fast greens that are challenging to read. You can find your ball in the rough, but will be penalized for hitting it there. One of my favorite courses to play in the Lexington area.
This golf course has a great design and offers many different holes to blend a golfers shot making opportunities.
I thought the golf course was well maintained and greens were any good shape, maybe a bit slow to what I enjoy playing. Golf course offers a golfer many different shot making opportunities and is layer out very well. I would recommend this golf course to a friend.
great course
The course is beautiful with nice fairways and receptive greens. The layout makes you use your head and better plan your shots. Rough is tough to play out of. Great all round coursr
Just a great day of golf..
I have played the Bull many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. This was my first time using golf now to book tee time and everything went perfect. I've noticed with some of the other course in the area that you are not always treated as nicely when you use golfnow but that didn't happen at the Bull. The gentleman in the proshop greeted me as soon as I walked in and even let me get off a little earlier to get in front of a couple of foursomes. Just a great experience. Course looks great right now, green are fast and true.
great round of golf
other than the cartpaths being a little beat up, the course and greens were in great condition.
The course has a great layout and was in very good condition.
The course was in very good condition but the roughs were so thick it was often hard to find your ball. Greens were very good. Overall I would give the course a 9 on a scale of 1 - 10.
The course is well maintained and professional looking. The staff is very friendly. We will return!
The course is well maintained, very professional. The fairways and greens are a pleasure to both view and play. Staff is very friendly. The night we played they even had live music at the clubhouse.
Fun but average.
The course was well maintained. The front 9 was just average. Nothing special. The back 9 was much more challenging. I really like the par 3's. The cart paths are like a roller coaster. They need some attention. . My son and I probably won't go back. It was worth playing once.
greens are slow
The greens are running about 6, if you want to play faster greens I would wait until later in the summer. They claim it was for poe, but there was very little on the greens compared to other places. pace of play was really bad several groups wasn't even good enough to play a par three. The round should never take that long on a Tuesday.
Great Course
I consider this course my "home course" as it is the one I have played the most and the one I prefer for the money.
The course is always well maintained (except for the cart paths, and honestly who cares about that?).
The course has a nice mix of challenging holes and holes that raise your confidence. The par 3s are a lot of fun.
Some water, some bunkers, some foliage on either sides of the fairway, some areas where house hitting (and window breaking) are possible with a lack of focus (yeah...I've done it.)
Overall great course for the money, well-maintained, challenging, fun and nice environment.
Nice course, good overall experience.
Glad we looked past critical reviews to play the course. The course is quite pretty and moderately challenging. I thought it was in reasonably good shape except for cart paths which are quite rough. Looks like a lot of nice courses with economic limitations.
We got off behind a men's group of some kind (4 foursomes) which played very, very slowly. It appeared as if the 90 degree rule in effect the day we played did not apply to them, nor did the usual expectations to rake after a bunker shot.
They were friendly and forgiving, however as I hit my tee shots a little close to them a few times as they were playing their 2nd or 3rd shots. It was just my wife and I and we did indeed have all day, so no serious problem for us. I just find it terribly hard to wait a bunch on the vast majority of shots.
Great place to play
This golf course had the feel of a Pete Dye design, visually intimidating. Extensive practice range. The greens demand respect. I played early in the season, the course was just coming back to life. But still a good value. Very close to I-75 so this would be a great place to stop going and coming while traveling.
Nice course, a little rough this time!!
I've played this course many time and it is usually in good shape. This early in the spring the grass in just starting to grow and the greens were pretty bumpy. I fully expect the course to be in its normal shape with time.
Excellent bang for the buck!
Despite the lack of spring, the greens were in excellent shape. If you like to putt on fast greens (as I do) this is an excellent choice. The staff is always super friendly.
I have always found the course to be in great condition and I like the layout of the course variation of holes
One negative that we found was that the pin placement on two tiered greens was in an unfair Position neither on upper or lower level but in between which was very difficult to get close to without rolling back to the lower side, ridiculous placements
course in great shape with every kind of hole design; water in play on two holes
pace of play fast along with the greens, nice fairways to hit second shot . greens roll fairly smooth.
A course with a lot of slope and a tight back nine.
In October the fairways were a little spoty. Greens were fair having been recently airriated. The courses offeres some intereresting drop down holes on par threes. The back nine plays pretty tight but not all too long. This course offers alot of slope.
Make sure you get a deal if you are going to play here.
I was able to book a tee time on here for $20 with a cart on Sat afternoon. I told my playing partner that was all I would pay to play this course in the condition that it is in. I had always heard great things about the course and was disappointed. The greens were ok but the fairways lacked grass and/or were brown in numerous places. The cart paths were filled with potholes. While I normally don't care what a cart path is like since I am there to play golf, it got old being thrown around the cart or kicking up large clouds of dust from the gravel.
Typically like this course when it is <$25
The houses and views are pretty solid at this course; however, there is a lack of paved cart paths making for an occasional bumpy ride. The greens could be slightly better maintained but there is not a signficant complaint. Still would play this course everytime I see it for a <$25.
