Lakeside Municipal Golf Course

Played Lakeside on Saturday and had a great time. Play was slow on the front nine but it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon on a public course, so I would expect there would be a crowd so play would be slow. Back nine was not nearly as crowded and took no time at all to play. The course is in great shape. Both fairways and greens were recently mowed and looked beautiful. Greens were a little slower than they usually are but that was just something we had to get used to. I recommend spending an afternoon relaxing at Lakeside anytime.

Booked a tee time at midnight the night before on golf now. Had me pay the booking fee around $5.00 dollars and pay the greens and cart fee at the clubhouse. Show up to pay and assistant club pro so called Gentry was a douche right from the start as soon as presented my military ID card. Said we can’t honor the military rate because I booked through GolfNow. I advised him I’ve been doing it this way for 15 years because military discount cant be done through GolfNow. I’ve done it 3 times this past month at the same course. Dude said I got over? I left in frustration and had my wife go in 35 minutes later them not knowing it was my wife was talking about me right in front of her for about 5 minutes. She didn’t say anything and just let them talk about me in a negative manner. At one point this Gentry douche was laughing saying I wasn’t a scratch golfer etc? Which has nothing to do with anything; it was a rebuttal to him saying he was the assistant head pro. The fact they claim they can’t change the rate before the point of sale is so backwards. The fact they were making fun of me in front of my wife and saying slanderous things not knowing it was my wife is beyond unprofessional. First off instead of everyone sitting around collecting city tax dollars maybe go rake the bunkers Mr. Golf pro. I don’t recommend this place because of the staff. Str8 awful experience over a military discount. The Gentry dude needs suspension or fired period. The simple fact of acting like that in front of my wife along with his subordinates is lack of leadership and management. So unprofessional! Won’t be back. I’m contacting the mayors office as well as the office above parks and rec and discuss my experience as a patron and as a veteran. Pathetic!

As Usual, A Well Maintained Course, Pin Placements Fair

I booked with a cart fee included, but the conditions were no good that I had to carry my bag throughout the round. I would like the cart fee refunded.

Due to the course conditions, I was unable to use the cart. I had to carry my clubs, so I would like a refund for the cart fee.

It had been several years since I played Lakeside. Even with the lack of rain, the course was in great shape, especially the greens. And by making our reservation using GolfNow, the deal I got was a great value.

When we arrived there was thunder. They asked that we wait 15 minutes before playing. The rest of the evening turned out perfect. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable,

Fiest time playing here. Thought the rough was a little long and full of clover which made it hard to find your ball. Greens were in good shape, but a little slow for me. Also, they had some undulation that was a little hard to read. Not a bad course, just needed to make finding ball in rough not an issue.

Was surprised how busy it was on a Monday morning. Other than that for a city course it’s in great condition!
