Decent public course
City owned public course. Fairways and greens were in fair to good condition. Bunkers are bad. Over all not to bad but at 41$, a little pricey for what ya get. They did have water on the course though- which is always good.
The Woman on staff was very rude and wrong.
The course was in OK shape, but there was a female staff member who was very rude and inconsiderate. She question me on whether or not I had paid to play. When I informed her that I paid already she flatly told me no I had not paid. And was arguing and very loud with me. She told me to scroll down on my reason and she would prove to me that I still owed the course money. When I showed her that I didn’t owe the course any money, she never apologized for her inappropriate behavior. I have worked for a golf course for the last four or five years and I never treated golfers like she treated me.
tates creek golf
tight fairways add unique challenges for the 20+ handicap. greens are in great shape as are the fairways, however, a wayward tee shot puts you in thick rough that sometimes make it tough to find your ball even when just off the fairway. overall very solid experience.
Great course for a game with friends
Tates creek is a great value for a challenging course. I like the course length and the size of the greens. Don't love all the trees but perhaps wouldn't mind so much if I could find the Fairway more often.
Rude staff and poor course conditions
The course was in poor condition in several areas. Fairways were spotty with lots of bare dirt exposed. The greens had been aerated with little or no top dressing. To make it worse, we were rudely treated by a course employee on the course, then followed to the parking lot to accuse us of paying for nine holes but playing 18. He basically said we were thieves. My receipt from Golf Now clearly showed that I had paid for 18 holes on a Hot Deal. I won't ever be back to this course.
1st time playing this course
Liked the layout. Needed more yardage markers. Rough around the greens was very thick. My twosome played 18 in 3 1/4 hour. Nice senior discount. Greens in good shape.
Wednesday afternoon round
Course fairways in great shape. Greens had just been airyated so they were very challenging on some holes. Overall Tates Creek is a great course.
Great round on a Friday afternoon
First time visiting this course. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Well maintained, not incredibly challenging for a beginner. Other players were friendly. We had fun on the front 9 and will definitely be back.
great muni course
the gentleman who was working , nice guy , i can't remember his name but he was 74.
he told me i would enjoy the course . it was a fun golf course to play
Right There for the Taking
I enjoyed the round. The three staff members with whom I interacted were very friendly. My first time playing the course - I would say this is a “get well” course. Not too many problems going around the course from a layout perspective to blow up the scorecard. Elevation changes and greenside bunkers were the primary defense. The layout did have a few fairway side-by-sides and blind shots so, as my playing partner said, keep your head on a swivel as errant shots from adjacent fairways was a regular occurrence.
Beginner Course
This is a good course to introduce beginners to the 18 hole game (I'd go to meadowbrook first). This is a place to bring your kids etc. The fairways are a little long, the layout is simple. I'd recommend going to one of the other public courses.
Good condition
Course was in good condition but pace was slow. To be fair, it was perfect golfing weather so it was a busy Friday.
