Fun Golf Course! Excellent Value from Golf Now tee time!
The course was in great shape! Well worth the 45 dollars I paid for my dad and I to play 18 holes with a cart. The grass was recently mowed and very thick which made the rough shots tougher but fair! The fairways were absolutely beautiful, and rolling, well worth hitting (easier said then done tho) :/
One thing right off the bat however that really seemed odd is that there are no signs really showing a picture of the holes and the yardage!?! This seemed really odd you have to look at the score card, but I would recommend getting an app called GOLF PAD when playing it, it keeps track of scores and uses GPS to show you distance to back, middle and front of the greens. Then it also has google maps button on the top right so you can see which way the hole goes, and know the distance to the bunkers!
Another thing I did notice however is that the putting green was in super condition but the greens on the course were just good condition. Some where faster then others, and some seemed a little slower! There are TONS of what appeared to be old divots on the greens that really made you think if you ball was going to hop when putting. The greens were very fast however and some very very tricky putts. Many times it breaks more then you think!
The back 9 I was told was the harder course which I played better on! HA, but it was very very fun and scenic. really can blow you away for how different the course is from front to back 9. However many holes play pretty short so I would recommend you to not use driver on some of the holes to keep it straight.
Overall I would play this course again for how cheap of tee time it was and I thought it was a lot of fun!!!
I like the greens here. You can judge the speed well and the balls usually hold.
I noticed that alot of golfers here don't repair their balls marks. Maybe they could put a few signs to remind golfers to fix there ball marks. The other things is fixing their divots as well. They should provide the sand/grass sees bottles to fix your own. Other than that I really like the course.
Great Course
Don't be fooled by the not so exciting sign when you pull in and by the small clubhouse. It's obvious that they put all of the money into the course because it is spectacular! I will admit that when I first pulled in I was wondering if I was at the right spot. I would recommend this course to anyone! The conditions were great, the course was definitely challenging and the staff was tremendous! I believe it was at the 6th Tee I ran into a worker named Tim. We had a short conversation before he headed off to greet others. After the 18th he came up to me to grab the cart for cleaning and referred to me by my first name. I know how I am with names and for him to remember mine after probably talking and greeting 30 some odd golfers after me I found that to be excellent! In the end if you haven't played the Summit it is a must try hands down! I'm going back in the fall because the views with the changing leaves I imagine is breathtaking!
Great shape but tough course bring extra balls
The front seems like it should be easy but isn't - tha back looks tough and it is. A good challenging course.
pace
Booking time seemed to be too close together kept running into group ahead which caused group behind always being there when we were teeing off.
Course was in great shape.
Bring your strongest bug spray. Tons of gnats on every hole. Other than the gnats the course overall was in great shape. They just need to enforce a raking trap and fixing ball mark policy.
the summit is worth it
It is a tale of 2 courses front nine Mn farmland golfing back nine decends into valley and is challenging and spectacular. The greens are receptive and above average fast, small spots of winter kill on a few greens. This course is fun! There are lots of great places 3 miles away in Cannon Falls after the round. We went to the winery downtown and to the restaurant across the street Downtowner and both were great. Fun bar right around the corner and down a block too.
summit value
Best value around for a great track. mixes links style with treelined fairways and elevated tees. Greens were very slow, they .were much faster in the past. Wish i was closer, i would play there a lot more often.
summit
nice layout, loved the elevated tees, roughs were tough and looks like some of the greens on the back had to be resodded. love the flagstone features
Nice course, OK value
I received a "hot deal" and paid $33 for 18 and cart. It's normally $42, which I believe would be a bit high. The course is in nice condition but for those that don't play it often, you have several shots that require a different choice of clubs without knowing it. I would recommend that the course gets a better score card with yardages or better signage showing you distances and obstacles that are hard to see.
Some very challenging holes
The back 9 demands accuracy off the tee box to score at all.
Like playing two different courses
The front 9 is very open and forgiving. The back 9 sends you into the hilly and tree lined holes that are very interesting and challenging. I have always enjoyed playing here because of the variety.
The tips are a monster....
All was great. I will play the next tee up next time. Fun course great shape.
Almost great
Overall this is a very good course. The only thing that keeps it from being a great course are a couple holes on the back nine are design wise a little sketchy. I still recommend it. The staff is nice and it always seems to be in good shape.
We will be back.
The lady in the clubhouse was friendly. She immediately made us feel welcome. There are some cool holes on this course. The front nine doesn't punish crooked tee shots but the back certainly does. A few of the greens had some burn from the winter but it didn't bother me too much.
Staff was excellent.!!!!!
The back nine made my long drive to the course all worth it. Stunning views and challenging holes make this course worth playing. I will be back in the future.
Good value on great course
The staff was very friendly. The course was difficult but in great shape. Good value!
great course
ever best course any other golf course i recommended my friends and neighbor i want to play more summit golf course
The views on the back nine are stunning!
I got a decent deal on golfnow.com. I'm new to the area and love to travel around and play different courses. Golfnow.com is a great way to accomplish that!
