Fun course
The course has been in great shape every time I've played it. Fun layout. Just one really stupid hole. 15 I believe it is. Don't expect anything from the clubhouse because there is almost nothing there. The par 3 course is a great course to take kids to.
Long and challenging
Half this course is open and very fair.
The other half really challenges your tee shots, with woods on both sides, blind shots, and difficult sight lines.
I love the challeges and the views on this course.
It was a VERY WINDY day!! The course was in very good shape!! Fairly busy! For the FIRST time I conquered the15th hole!! It made the rest of the bad shots worth it!!
Priced to high for location
Course condition was above average. 45 minutes south of the twin cites and way over priced for the time spent to get there. even at the discounted price that I paid I would not make the drive to ply there again. Absolutely no amenities and only one staff person available to take care of things.
the summit
the summit is a great designed course, challenging and plays well
Summit review
A very fun layout and the course was in good shape. The only problem is the lack of management presence. My wife and I have played there twice in the past two weeks and both times there were groups allowed to jump in front of us on hole #10 which slowed play to a crawl on the backside. We quit early because of it. Management needs to prohibit people starting on the backside.
Good Bargain
I have golfed the Summit golf course about 5 times and will continue to go back. The course has always been in great condition and the course is challenging, but not terribly difficult. There are some nice signature holes on the back nine with elevated tee boxes. I would recommend visiting this course if you never have and enjoy a nice round of golf!
The Summit review
I liked the course layout a lot it was challenging, but I still had fun. The course provided scenic views and wildlife, there were two deer running across the first fairway. The fairways, greens, and practice facilities were all well kept. There are a few hills on the back nine that make the back hard to walk, but the front nine was relatively flat, if your planning on playing all 18 at least have a push cart. Overall the only downside was that the clubhouse didn't have much more than a few candy bars and drinks for after the round and there wasn't any water on the course.
Awesome course
Worth the drive, the course is in great condition.
Great course just south of the Cities
Summit Golf Course is a wonderful course that is very playable and has a good mix of holes to keep every golfer challenged. Pace of play is very good. We got around the course in 3.5 hours.
There's only one hole (the 15th) that isn't so good (they should probably make it into a par 4) - but really a fun course to golf.
Beautiful course!
My two adult sons and I played the Summit to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. We had a great time. We are not great golfers, so the course was a real challenge for us, but the Summit is a beautiful and well-cared for course. We could not have enjoyed the round of golf more.
Good Shape
The course was in very good shape, the tee boxes should have been cut shorter…greens in great shape..one weird hole #15 par five not a good setup…target golf all the way to the green…otherwise liked the layout..
Challenging course and it is in good shape.
The course was in good shape and the greens were very nice, the only downside was the club house, it could use more food and snacks sold there.
No water on the course to drink so you have to buy at the clubhouse.
Pace of play
Very impressed with the pace of play on a difficult back nine
Nice variety of holes, hazzards & greens
The front nine is more open and allows for a nice way to get into the swing without getting lost. The tee boxes open up to wide fairways with appropriate challenges & hazards for all levels. The back nine starts out similar to the front nine, but drops down into the valley and becomes more challenging, with narrower fairways, blind approaches etc. It was a nice course to get the season rolling. I'd say if there was a downfall of the course, it's the lack of a pro shop or 19th hole. It's ok if you need a glove, tees or sleeve of balls, but not much else.
Hidden Gem
Great course for the money....front nine is pretty wide open and the back is far more challenging. We played the back tees, which added significant difficulty on the back 9. Greens rolled pretty true and my favorite part of the course is that it offers unique holes you don't often find at other courses. I have been to this course 3-4 times now and have no problem recommending this to anyone. Definitely worth the drive!
One last round
We froze, due to high winds and 50 degree weather. Always have fun playing this course. Wide open front 9 with target golf on the back.
Best buy on Golfnow in the Metro Area
We just returned from a golf vacation in New England. Played 7 different courses and I can say none compared with the Summit for value. The Summit offers challenges, scenery, and elevation changes similar to one's in Vermont and New Hampshire.
A fun round
Overall, I'd say it was a decent course with good value and great views. The greens were in great condition. Other than the layout on the score card, there is no information about the direction of the fairways - with some serious doglegs & hazards, this would be helpful. We got behind a slow group - this made for a long and frustrating round. There was no drinking water on the course and a limited selection of food and beverages in the clubhouse. I'd suggest this course for someone who likes to play unique courses, but I likely won't make the drive again.
Hidden Tresure
My girlfriend and I played this course recently and loved it. The elevated tees on many of the holes presented breathtaking views. The course was challenging, but not too long. The pro shop guy was really nice. We will definitely be back.
