The Cascade at Gold Mountain Golf Course
About
There are two championship courses available at Gold Mountain Golf Club, the Cascade and the Olympic. Taking advantage of the dramatic Pacific Northwest surroundings, the courses offer stunning views from nearly every hole. If the dramatic elevation changes of the Olympic Course are overly intimidating, the more walkable Cascade Course will be ideal. It may be less challenging but that doesn't mean it's easy. The openness of the golf course is misleading, if you want to score low you will actually need strategic, well placed shots on each hole. There are some tricky holes but overall it's a course that will appeal to players of all skill levels. Ample driving areas frame the tree-lined fairways and the player-friendly greens are open and inviting. Gold Mountain's Cascade Course is often the top choice for tournament play.

Tough to beat Olympic
I'm such a fan of their Olympic Golf Course that I never play Cascade. I finally couldn't pass up a great Golfnow.com deal and locked down a Cascade Tee Time. The course is in great shape, greens included. Pin selection was devilish to say the least. I'll give them the fact that the Husky Invitational was coming up but about 6 pins were literally on a slope. One of the Par 3's had major traffic because you'd putt at the hole and the ball would just roll right back down. Gold Mountain is by far one of my favorite city run courses in WA. If you haven't checked it out, do yourself a favor and do so! Both great courses Olympic is much much harder although Cascade has its challenges.
Good Challenge & great price
Played the Cascade course at Gold Mt. (9/10/2013) Plenty of dog legs to test your skills. If you made it to the second cut of ruff you payed the price (very deep). The greens were very putt-able. Nice layout & no matter what tee locations you hit from a good challenge.
Note: Price $18 W/cart
very nice course
very nice greens and course is well keep up. Restraint not the best food and menu need some work and better choices need new cooks.
first time to play but enjoyed with good partner
Golf shop staff arranged to play with good player who knows well about this course ,so i enjoyed playing and partners.
Great fun course
The Olympic grabs all the glory but Cascade is a fun course in its own right. Every hole has its own charictor andd greens are just as well kept as the Oly course,
Great day of golf
Good course with appropriate challenges. Many holes that local knowledge would be beneficial.
This course is well run
From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff was friendly, happy and very welcoming. The course was in great shape, the greens fast and beautifully maintained. I would play here again.
SC
Excellent course!
It was a great day on the course at Gold Mt.'s Cascade 18. Met 3 other golfers and despite my inexperience we hit it off pretty well. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Overall I would play there again and I highly recommend this course to any golfer who wants a great time on the links.
First time @ this course - good value.
Challenging greens with a lot of slope - get on the wrong side of the hole and an 8-foot putt can turn into a 3-putt green. Too much 'brown' bare spots in the fairways, maybe grass cut too short for this time of year.
Picturesque and forgiving.
Loved the course, staff friendly, greens wickedly fast and undulating.
Nice track
This course gets a lot of play, so it is typically very busy, so rounds take a bit longer than normal. I enjoyed it, as it is a fair test, with no really tricked up holes.
Open course but challenging.
Beautiful course which has pristine layout. Course is open but is very challenging. Would return again.
Excellent .
Seems like underrated compared with Olympic Course, but it has it's own charm and excellence.
tough course bring your a game
I found a great deal on golfnow.com 30.00 bucks for 18 (walking) this course was in great shape, perfect fairways and pristine greens that were fast but soft so your ball will bite. Parts of this course are pretty hilly so walking only adds to the challenge. Worth twice the price
Timeless Classic
There is a reason Gold Mountain has garnered the national attention it has in the past 10 years and the Cascade course is a large part of that. Forgiving tee shots to challenging greens makes this course fun for everyone. Greens are in excellent shape and played fast.
Very playable at any level of skill.
Always one of my favorite courses in the northwest and its companion course, Olympic, is just as much fun.
First time on the Cascade course
We have played the Olympic course at Gold Mountain many times, but have never gotten around to the 'other' course.
My usual 4some was down to 3, and we loved it. We are all mid 50's and the walk was great. There were a couple of very uphill fairways to get up, but it's good for the legs as my friend kept telling me...
We liked it so much we have a 36 hole day planed next week! Both courses - only this time with a cart and lots of water...
Bad round on a nice course.
Courses ought to be required to notify you when they have a tournament going on. Such was the case on the 6th. The staff at Gold Mountain did not inform us ahead of time, nor did such information show up on a GolfNow booking page either. So we had 5 hour and 45 minute slog playing behind a large group with many intoxicated players. It was maddening.
One of thje best values
Well maintained course. Cascade is shorter than Olympic, but very challenging from the gold tees! No houses! Staff is very friendly. Not too many frustrating holes where you lose many balls. Not a lot of water or bunkers, only rabbits. More relaxing to play here than courses in the city, where there are a lot of distractions. Pluses are the grass driving range, chipping and more practice putting greens I've ever seen! I think I will play here every 4th of July. Don't forget the $5+ toll over narrows...my only negative...
