Broad Run Golfer's Club
About
Designed by Rees Jones, Broad Run Golfer's Club boasts one of the best layouts in the area. The course sprawls across over 370 acres of rolling hills countryside. The dramatic elevations are definitely not something you would expect from a golf course that is conveniently situated so close to downtown Philadelphia. The elevated tees feel as though they're in the clouds and mature trees frame most of the holes. There are hazards lurking throughout the golf course including swampy marshlands and tall, dense grasses that are all just waiting to swallow errant shots. It is a challenging layout no doubt but it is made more player friendly with generous fairways and Jones was also light on the bunkering. One of the most difficult and scenic holes is the par-5 15th. This hole plays uphill, featuring a blind tee shot to a plateau green surrounded by trees.

Great Course
I've played this course twice this year. I drive an hour to get there, and it's worth it. The course is beautiful, challenging, and always in perfect shape. To me it’s a little bit like a cross between a mountain course and a links style course. It’s very playable, the greens are huge, and views are awesome. It’s some of the best public golf around.
Beautiful Course
A friend of mine recommended this course to me about 8 years
ago. Unfortunately for me, I didn't take his advice. Wow, what a beautiful course. I was paired with a couple of guys that play here regularly, so I was able to avoid some of the subtle challenges that a first-timer here may face. I didn't realize that this area had the elevation changes that this course has. I felt like I was playing on one of the mountain courses in Pa or Virginia. Definitely, a great experience and I may have found a new favorite course.
Nice longer afternoon
Nice course, no walking as it traverses through back hills. Varying hole layouts, but typically straight tee-to-green. Seems to get backed up, not sure if its the layout - probably the clientele playing to bogey golf
Great layout and conditions
I was really impressed with the conditions, especially for the week of Thanksgiving. Challenging, but fair layout, lots of elevation change. keep it in play and you can be rewarded, but if you miss you will leave strokes out there.
Great layout and the course was in good shape.
Some of the fairway bunkers were not maintained at all - I'm guessing due to the time of year and post-hurricane Sandy damage. Can't complain though. Got a great deal online at a course with a spectacular layout and views.
Interesting course, great layout
I would recommend this course to anyone. It's a very challenging round. The front 9 consists of almost all par 4's and the back has a ton of par 5's and 3's. Prepare to spend a whole day playing here though. The course is very spread out and it's almost guaranteed that you'll be waiting at some point.
Course is in great shape for November!
Thanks-I had a great afternoon. Wish the sun had stayed out longer so that I could have finished the round. Will be back!
long , challenging and scenic course
One of my top 3 courses in Chester county. holes 1 & 2 come right at you from the start. Big course with 350+ acres. GPS on carts eliminates some guesswork. Greens are usually fast. Many interesting positions to manage. I play Broad Run several x's a year. Only complaint is players neglecting to repair ball marks : ( ...... course is a great value when booked as a hot deal on golfnow (no , they ain't paying me)
Great Track!!!
This is not your typical track. Lots of uphill shots and a few blind shots. A very fun course to play with some unusual holes. If your the type of golfer that likes the traditional golf courses then this one is not for you. But I thought all in all it was a challenging course that makes you hit all of your clubs in your bag. I have not used my 3 wood and 4 iron that much in a very long time but you will need them. Lots of long par 4 and 5 holes.
I like this course for the layout and the views
I played 2 days after hurricane Sandy and the course was in great shape and the grounds crew were doing a terrific job.
Really great course. Unique layout, scenic holes, challenging layout. One of the better tracks around.

great setting...enjoyable golf
Have been playing here since the course opened under the Tatttersall name. Under the new name Broad Run,,, the conditions are just as good and the price is much lower. You wont find a more picturesque course in this area and playing in the fall is truly spectacular with all the colors.. The front nine is by far the easier nine and plays relatively short.. The back nine is highlighted by the very tough uphill and long par 4 14th hole.. A par on that hole, and you'll be smiling all day.. The 18th is a wonderful par 5 finisher... You also get the benefit of the Garman yardage video system in your cart here.. Not too shabby..
This course allows you to use all of the clubs in your bag. Didn't feel like I was hitting driver pitching wedge all day.
Very well Maintained, extremely good value for the price!
Always fun to play this course, particularly in the Fall
This is a challenging, but interesting course, particularly the last four holes. The course was in good condition with the exception of the binkers which need more sand.
Nice course. Greens are well guarded by bunkers or elevated.
I played from blues. Course was well maintained. Hitting the greens is a challenge due to well guarded bunkers and elevated greens.
Fairways can be narrowed on some holes. This course require you to be on your game.
Cons: I payed for cart, but they made me cart up with another guy who was off his game, thus causing both of us to slow down the pace of play.
Very nice!
I really enjoy this course. It has amazing views of the surrounding areas. There are multiple holes that could be considered "signature." If there was a complant, it would simply be that my golf game isn't good enough for this place. There is fairway, and rough, and then deep rough, and some "don't-bother-looking" rough as well... If anything could use improvement, the only thing I can think of is the bunkers. Shockingly I didn't find myself in them much, but my playing partners spent a decent amount of time in the beach and apparently felt like there were a few too many "rocks" and not enough sand. Also - this is NOT a walking course. I don't mind that, but it's good to know before hand. The course could practically be considered a mountain course and some of the green to tee treks are a bit of a hike. But if you're in the area, this is a great course with amazing views and is kept in great shape. do yourself a favor and play here!
Great course, great food,great staff
True hidden gem in the hills of Chester county. .incredible views, extreme elevation changes make it a challenge .quick greens, and lush fairways. I really should not be writing this ,cause if you come once, you will come back. would hate to see it get crowded, but they deserve the business. Ken the GM is doing a great job. He has hired an excellent chef, and the entire staff treats you like a king. My wife is not a golfer, but she drove the cart around as I played. could not get over how gorgeous the course with it's views ,is. We had dinner out on the patio. nice band playing, fantastic food and atmosphere. We are going back this weekend
Will definitely go back again and again
Has some quirky holes but for the most part a nice challenging course. Worth a trip.
Great course
Wonderful course...challenging, great condition. Given the price the Golfnow deals are perfect for this place.
Beautiful course, ,aerating while we golfed
This is a great course however they were currently arerating the couse that day and you couldn't play 2 holes. This was not clearly stated on Golf Now that day.
