Beautiful course, challenging greens, difficult forward tee placements
First of all - the signage is somewhat spartan, it's confusing navigating the course. This would be an easy fix, and obviously not a problem for experienced members. We missed several holes and had to track back.
I really liked the course, but others in my foursome did not, primarily due to the placement of the forward tees for the ladies. While there is plenty of room to place these tees elsewhere, the forward green tees played very long for seniors/ladies, to include a few par 5s at around 450 yards. The course is challenging, often hitting over water or scrub areas, which likely further contributed to the sentiment. Course conditions were great, and the staff was extremely friendly even as we were on a preview round. The greens were definitely challenging due to tabletop and sloping designs. These contribute greatly to the slope rating.
Despite all the above, I would definitely recommend.
Pace of Play 5:30
We quit after 9 holes. Pace of play was going to be 5:30. Called clubhouse to speed up but nothing was improved.
Lovely course
Played Applecross yesterday for the first time. I played solo on a Monday afternoon. The course conditions were very good for this early in the season, and there was hardly anyone on the course, so I played a round in two hours, with scarcely anyone in sight. The course has a nice layout with a variety of holes and some good risk and reward decisions. Definitely a place I would recommend and play to return to play again. I didn’t spend much time in the clubhouse or restaurant, but it looked nice and it’s clear the club is well kept and re-investing in itself.
The hot deal was a good price, but was disappointed to learn when out on the course that 4 holes were completely closed and two more holes had multiple tees closed.
Applecross
It would have been nice if GolfNow or the course itself would have posted that 4 holes were closed and 2 tee boxes were closed!
Holes closed and no one told us!
Overall it was a good day out. At check in we weren’t told about the 4 holes closed which was a little disappointing as we weren’t actually sure how many holes would actually be open!
Great first round of the year
4 holes closed. Allowed us to play holes over again to make up
For it. Course is in way better shape then expected considering weather in the area recently. Everything considered, a great day to scrape some rust off. DEFINITELY coming back this season to get to play the entire course.
4 holes were closed, fairways were under water
They should disclose that 4 holes are closed. Cart had to be swapped out on hole 3 because it wasn’t working. Fairways were completely drenched. Coarse should have never been open
Hidden Gem
Absolute great course. I hope I can get a chance to play this course in the spring when it’s warm outside. I was surprised how good of shape this track was in the time of year it is right now. Played in low 40’s in December and if I wasn’t an hour and a half away I would definitely be looking at membership. Great course and layout! Hopefully can play it again!
Applecross
This course was in excellent condition. Greens were a bit rough with un-repaired ball marks and somewhat slow but expected with recent hot weather.
Sending out singles, twosome and threesomes randomly doesn’t help much for pace of play either. We had a threesome behind us who was offered multiple times to play thru but instead chose to wait for every shot and make us hustle. Was super annoying and irritating.
Great play
Fun layout and can be very difficult at times with elevated greens and tight fairways

We found out the 4 holes were closed and we were not informed either on Golfnow or at check in. Also, a couple of tee boxes were also closed with a mat to hit off of. I expected more from this course. The course was in good shape though.
