great day we had the coarse to our self,the greens were in perfect shape
Good Course, but it's been better
Fun layout. Makes you think about risk/reward. Good pace of play. Played this course in May and September. It was perfect condition in May. Course was still in good shape in September except there was hardly any sand in the bunkers.
Avalon Golf Links is a fun place to play.
My wife and I played the South-North combination at Avalon and enjoyed it very much. The greens were very good, the sand was consistent and the layout was interesting. You have room to play away from trouble on every hole, but a bad shot is punished appropriately. This is a 27 hole facility and I also played 5 holes on the West nine before we ran out of time. They also have the new golf cycles to rent and this is the first time I had ever seen them. I am going to have to give them a try next chance I get.
Avalon conditions
Not a great winter course. Without the discount from GolfNow, I would never play this course in the winter. The greens were average but not pretty. Send traps were unplayable. The fairways were marginal. Even in the winter you would expect more from a course that charges the rates that you charge. Super friendly staff.
Solid as ever
Always a beautiful challenging course. In particularly great shape this year considering the beating from the inclement weather especially compared to other courses in western WA. Greens are true and gorgeous. Good shots are rewarded.
Enjoyed it
Greens were very fast. Dan, the Marshall, was very helpful in pairing me up with another gentleman. Course was in great shape especially since it is winter. I expected wetter conditions but the drainage was great. I will play this course again.
Challenging greens
Avalon is in good shape. The greens are nice and roll smoothly. There are subtle breaks on the greens which makes reading and making putts difficult. I sure haven't figured them out yet, but I'll definitely be back to try again.
Best greens this year
This was my 15th round of the year and 5th in 2 weeks and the greens were far better than any of the oki courses I've played
Some of the best greens in WA!
Avalon has some of the best greens in the state, but make sure you have some time to practice before you play as they are firm and fast!
Fun course with interesting holes on all three 9's. Play South/North if you want the biggest challenge.
It's never a bad day...just ask the bald eagles nesting between holes #5 and #6 on the west course!
nice fast greens even after the rain
I've played Avalon quite a bit over the years. it's a great course. They have made the course a lot easier by taking out a lot of trees and under brush . Opening the course up quite a bit.
Just keeps getting better!
Avalon continues to get better year after year. Fairways are very nice. Greens are typically fast but are pretty true. This is a "Player Friendly Course"!
Great that all 3 nines are open in December
I picked the perfect day in December to golf at Avalon.
Limited amount of golfers on the 3 nines.
The 3 1/2 hour pace is always welcome for 18 holes of golf.
The course was in very good condition for winter golf.
