Nice views Photo submitted by cadizgolf on 08/15/2013
Very friendly staff and well maintained course, especially for late fall
Our entire experience was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel welcome and appreciated. The course was very playable especially for late fall and after a fair amount of rain. This is a course that is easily walkable, very peaceful, and encourages a great day no matter what you shoot! I will return.
Nice course, greens recently punched, sanded :(
Well worth money! We will play again when greens are recovered
pace was slow, but the course is beautiful
Avalon is one of more attractive courses in the area. Is expensive for the novice golfer (unless you use golfnow). There are three fairly challenging 9-hole arms available, My fav is the South course because of the amazing views of the Skagit Valley. I've noticed the pace has been a bit slow probably because it is a popular course. If you enjoy peace and quiet, you'll love this course. The only sounds come from mother nature,
punched greens
I haven't played here for awhile and it was nice to see that they have opened up the course in places. Avalon is a relatively short course that is very tight in places. The three diverse nines
make for an interesting day regardless of which ones you play.
It's over an hour drive for me but at the hotdeal rate it was still a bargain in spite of ongoing maintenance.
excellent all around course
even after a big overnight rain the course was in excellent condition.. greens were fast and smooth.. nice collars around the greens.. friendliest and most helpful proshops around.. an all around enjoyable round again at Avalon golf course
Well run course.
Excellent course for winter play... mostly dry and not too windy.
A great day in the forestlike golf experience
This 27 hole facility is a must play with a wilderness setting and
good conditioned course with great greens that are plenty fast.
Although a cart was included in the GolfNow offer, Avalon is one of the best walking courses in western Washington!
The GolfNow offer was irresistible! I'd played Avalon several years ago and liked it then. My return reconfirmed my enjoyment of the course. Nice layout with three distinctly different sets of nine holes (this time I played the North course — my favorite of the three nines; and the West course — nice, but I think I like the South better). The greens are pretty fast with tricky lines and take some getting used to, and three-putting can happen easily (the practice green provides a good preview of what to expect). Very easy walking course, though a cart was included with the offer, which I took advantage of. Their play-all-day offer is also a great value. While it was just over a one-hour drive for me each way (from Shoreline, just north of Seattle), it was worth the drive. I went as a single and was fortunate to be paired with another friendly single who also took advantage of the GolfNow offer, had a great time playing together and spoke about what a great deal it was, which made the outing all the more satisfying! Completed the round, then the rains came an hour later, so it was good timing. All in all, a great day of golf!
3 different 9's, South, North and West courses. Flat and forgiving
The front desk was very welcoming and helpful, providing little bits of info on the course as well. The club house is nice and laid out well. The course is spread out into 3 different 9 holes. G;ad I got a great deal on Golf NOW, as the course is not the most challenging if you were to pay full price. I played on a weekend and I think you get a few of the local crowd out on a Saturday as we ended up skipping holes because of slow players. We missed 3 holes on the first nine, and decided to race to the next nine to get ahead, but only ended up behind the slowest 2 guys ever, were drunk and took 15-20 per hole sometimes longer. We really could not go past as there were All in all, not a bad course, but go on week day to avoid crowd and get a good deal if you can. foursomes ahead, and when we did get the chance, we flew by and they shouted some poor vocab, and we decided to just jump holes again and play the last couple with no one around.
Challenging Greens. Good distance. Nice Scenery
Greens difficult. Fairways Moderate Width. Would Recommend
Great course
Love this 27 hole course. I drive from Mukilteo just to play here. Very nice and enjoy the quietness of the place.
well worth the money
It was a fantastic day weather wise and had a very fun round with my son. The course was in great shape. My only complaint was that the ball plugged in middle of the fairway on the 10th hole at 3 in the afternoon. It has been a warmer and drier summer than usual. It is still the result of over watering.
This course is always in great shape!
We play this course 2-3 times per year and it is always a treat...service is great, the course is always in great shape and the pace is always comfortable.
Beautiful view
Courses greens are pretty bouncy. It's like 50/50 moss/green. Other than that it's great
Great value and well kept surfaces always keep Avalon toward the top of my list.
Always well maintained with the exception of bunkers that need some sand and consistency. Different depths of sand and rocks in some was a bummer.
Very firm quick greens were a treat/challenge to land your approach in the right place.
Course was in good condition and the greens rolled true and speedy.
Nice set of tee boxes for all level of golfers. Staff was really friendly.
Had a great time Great golf course. would play it again
Had a great time Great golf course. would play it again
Great time sun and fun
Speedy greens...
Love the 27 hole layout so it feels like your playing 3 different courses. Although rated most difficult of the nines, prefer the South course so I can bang away with the driver. Best to keep with a 3W or long iron on the other two. Hard to keep a ball on the green so bring your approaches in high. Rough is usually deep and difficult to get out of and the speedy greens can be tricky when your above the hole.
outstanding condition
Courses are in excellent condition; greens were fast and challenging; the bridge delay on I5 is minimal! One of our favorite places to play and worth the trip from the Seattle area
A fun course
The greens were in very good shape as were the fairways. I was pleased the course was dry no muddy areas as we have had a lot of rain. I hope to play this course again soon.
