Blue Heron Golf Course
About
Blue Heron Golf Course, formerly known as Carnation Golf Course, first opened in 1967 but underwent a major renovation, in addition to the name change, after it was bought in 2011. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, the course would occasionally be overrun by the Snoqualmie River but thanks to improved drainage and irrigation features added in the renovation, the course is able to drain remarkably fast. At just a few yards shy of 6,000 yards, Blue Heron G.C. is on the shorter side but that is no indication of its level of difficulty. Golfers will face a variety of challenges including an abundance of bunkers strategically placed throughout. One of the toughest holes is the par-5 17th, which is a blind tee shot where a long iron might come in more handy than a driver.

Big surprise
A totally shock to see the conditions of the course that was so badly maintained and the back 9 holes are closed. No grass on fairways that are covered by leaves all over. The green is bad too. Will never play there again.
Dry fairways and bumpy greens
The fairways are super dry not sure if they even water them, impossible to pull a divot. The greens are nearly unplayable the ball bounces in all on the holes on the greens. If that isn’t bad enough the pace of play was even worse no marshal to be found. I’ve been golfing for over 20 years by far the worse course conditions I’ve seen. Quit round half way through.
Maybe next year
Compared to the other courses I've been playing at in the area this one is in by far the worst condition. Couple that with the added remoteness of the course makes the slightly cheaper greens fees not worth the trip. I would recommend the course only if you really want to get a round in and couldn't even get a tee time that worked for you anywhere else.
Great fun.
This course needs some tlc and some weed killer. Greens are nice. T boxes and fairways need some care and attention. Course conditions really did not effect shots. Mature course.
Not worth it
There is a reason this course is always available on GolfNow and it is because it is so overpriced. They should figure this out. But got stuck there because GolfNow has such crappy selection of courses in the area. Best thing is that it was only a 3 hour round since others don't want to pay even more to play there. Paved cart paths for most holes are new but tee boxes were grassless and extremely hard, tough to get a tee in them. The weeds were mostly green so not completely dried out. Should be about $20 to play.
Blue Heron Adventure
The course was in great shape. It is so much improved from years past. Located on a flood plain, it requires lots of love from the superintendent and greens crew. They sure did provide it, well done! It was a nice quiet day with pleasant people. The restaurant staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The Pro Shop staff were every bit the same. Thank you for a great day.
Nice day of golf
Nice course for mid-level players...not real long. Best to stay on the fairways, though, finding wayward balls isn't easy! Greens were slow, but well groomed and consistent.
A fun course
It's relatively short on flat ground near the river's edge.
awful course management
We left the course after Hole #15, that took us 5 hours!!!
The tournament players in front of us ...were so drunk, laying down on the tee boxes, stumbling around.
We reported this to the club house, and they did nothing ....only served more alcohol to the players.
They have a nice clubhouse, sorry to say that their is no management that cares,
We will never play there again !!
They served me the wrong breakfast, and still charged us, that should have been my 1st clue
What happened to this place?
I grew up out in the valley and have played this course hundreds of times. This is not the course I grew up on. The tee boxes were overgrow to the point that I felt I was teeing up in the rough. The greens were super slow and in desperate need of a trim. The fairways were full of old grass clippings.
Please fix these issues as I really love this course and think it is a really fun place to play.
The all course was and still underwater but Golfnow continue to sell rounds.
Decent Course
This course is great for the money. However, the condition is not great. The greens are full of speed bumps and very rarely do you have a putt that doesn’t hit some rough patches. The back 9 was finally open, often times gets flooded out from the Snoqualmie River. The fairways were in the best condition I’ve ever seen here and are aguably in better condition than some of the more expensive courses around. I will definitely play this course again.
Hidden GEM
First round at Heron and loved it. Nestled along the Snoqualmie River South of Carnation. Had the course to myself and was most impressed with how quiet it was the entire round.
it would have been alot better if you told me the course was so wet the front nine was closed from a flood so i'm not happy with your part in this it cost me 60.00 for us to play a 9 hole swamp !!!!!
Never again
I thought I would give Blue Heron a try again to see if it had improved since my last round there a couple of years ago. It hasn't. The fairways were about as long as you would expect the rough to be and the greens were longer than you would expect a fairway to be. I realize that it is winter and maintenance is tough but this really was a waste of time. No roll whatsoever in the fairways and the greens were patchy and long. The greens were so bad you could hit a chip exactly where you wanted and it was likely to hit a bad spot and kick 90 degrees to the side. I won't be back.
Blue Heron is a Great Value
New ownership transformed this course into a very playable, and enjoyable experience. They fixed the flooding problem that used to make it unplayable in winter and spring. Now it's dry and very well maintained. They changed the course layout
and there are several interesting and challenging holes. This course is for all skill levels. The clubhouse is new and includes a wonderful restaurant and bar for inside dining or on the large deck overlooking the course. I have to travel 15 miles to play here but it's worth the drive. The entire staff is very friendly.
Back 9 closed
Back 9 closed since last Sunday. Greens were not cut. Slowest green I have ever played. Fairways were not cut. Constantly looking for my own ball on fairway. Too much fallen leaves. I lost many balls in rough and fairway. Too many golfers because back 9 were closed. It was complete waist of my time and money. If I knew the back 9 were closed, I did not go there. I want my money back.
