Blue Heron Golf Course
About
Blue Heron Golf Course, formerly known as Carnation Golf Course, first opened in 1967 but underwent a major renovation, in addition to the name change, after it was bought in 2011. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, the course would occasionally be overrun by the Snoqualmie River but thanks to improved drainage and irrigation features added in the renovation, the course is able to drain remarkably fast. At just a few yards shy of 6,000 yards, Blue Heron G.C. is on the shorter side but that is no indication of its level of difficulty. Golfers will face a variety of challenges including an abundance of bunkers strategically placed throughout. One of the toughest holes is the par-5 17th, which is a blind tee shot where a long iron might come in more handy than a driver.

Great deal. Course needs improvement
Fairway and greens very choppy. Got an amazing deal on golfnow.com
Nice layout
Recovering from usual flooding. Should be in much better shape as it dries up and they continue to improve
barn yard course
This is the worst golf course in the Pacific Northwest. There is mud, water, little grass on the fairways and the greens had patches of no grass. It seems as if no one in the staff knows how to grow fairway grass or how to drain the course. The prices should be less than $10 for 18 holes for everyone due to the condition of this place. Never again.
Back 9 looked like a tornado was through
The front 9 was in good condition. They probably should have closed several holes on the back 9 or just let you play the front 9 twice since they were logging the back 9 and it was hazardous and difficult to find balls even in the fairways.
Lower rating due to prior weather conditions
The course was in fair condition.
Recent flooding was the cause of impact, vs, anything the staff could control.
The back 9 was closed due to flooding the day before. We ended up playing the front 9 twice.
The weather co operated and was very enjoyable.
Pace of play was excellent, as only a few players on the course.
The restaurant staff was GREAT, and food good! I recommend their Bloody Mary's!
Good things happening here
I had not played this course in years as it was somewhat on the downhill but boy have they changed this place all around. The clubhouse and restaurant have been renovated right along with the course. Only 31 miles from my house but takes about an hour to get there so was hoping that what I heard with regards to the improvements was true. It was! Course is in good condition and we had lunch on the turn and glad we did. The lamb burger is awesome as was the service. Glad I made the trip again and will be back in the spring!
It's out there....
and the fairways/greens reflected that. Had been recently Aerated which was not noted on Golfnow... but it didn't ruin the day.
Very friendly staff
We had a great time. Everyone was very friendly. Used to be carnation golf course. Upgraded and fun. The restaurant is great.
Not worth the gas to drive there.
Course was in very rough shape. Fairways almost non existent, greens were aerated and covered in sand (no mention of this when booking tee time) making them basically unplayable. Poorly marked distance points. This was my first time playing Blue Heron, and sadly I will not be returning any time soon.
Fun Friendly and Scenic
Friendly staff and course in good shape. A little hard to find balls with the leaves on the ground and they could mark the yardage a little better. But fun course to play and the price is right with the specials.
friendly staff
I had some problems on my car after my round. Under rainy weather, the manager gave favors for me, such as telephone, internet and even trying efforts to solve the problem himself. Nearly at closing time, I can drive my car home. He was a very friendly-minded staff.
Great Value, Great Progress
This course has the most interesting layout of any of the "valley: courses, excluding TPC and Aldarra. Water comes into play on several holes and there are nasty trees to contend with constantly. Its not a long course, but the greens are vastly improved from years past. This course was left to die about 3-4 years ago, and they have done a terrific job of making it playable again. The greens are fast and the club house is top notch. Come out and support them, in 2-3 years it could be the top value course in the valley. They have made some great first strides.
Fun Course To Play
Staff are very friendly. Greens are well maintained and ball rolls true. A couple of the greens had a rough patch but did not affect my play. The fairways are generally well maintained. The eleventh hole fairway is under repair so a little rough. Practice facilities are excellent. The scenery is incredible making for a relaxing round of golf. Very quiet on weekdays. Tee off early if playing a weekend. The new clubhouse is beautiful and the new owners are constantly making improvements. The restaurant has very good food at reasonable prices.
Goat farm
Greens are like putting on Costco floors. Fairways are chewed up. Seemed to be quite a bit of flooding going on seems to be sprinkler related but for 15$ you really can't complain. The food was good, but the waitress jacked out order up and they seemed to be out of stock on most the food on the menu.
Not worth it
The course is in a beautiful setting and could be a stellar course, but needs a lot of money. Its remote location will be a hindrance to getting traffic.
The current course is quite dismal. The fairways are just mowed farmland and really not a golf course. To make the course challenging they have fast greens and the pin placement makes it very difficult to get lucky.
I did enjoy being in the nature and listening to the birds and walking along the river. But I wanted to play golf and now take a walk in the park. It is remote so not quick to get to and the staff are average, not rude, but not overly friendly either.
A golf course that does not have air to clean your shoes and gear, has no business being open. You absolutely need it after walking through farmland.
I can't justify playing the course at even $20, because I'll still have a commute to get to it.
Fast hard greens
The scorecard looks like an easy course. I found the greens to be very hard and unreceptive to most shots. With some of the hole locations a missed 3 footer could turn into an 8 footer. The fairways were good for the most part.
worst course ever
This is the worst course ever. The course is poorly maintained. One hole we were hitting off dirt for almost 200 yards. The greens were very bad. I am sure glad I didnt pay full price. There where a lot of one and two players. The course didnt pair them up nor did they pair themselves up. People were jumping from hole to hole. Like they were twighlight golfers trying to get in as many holes as they could. One couple I talked to said they where on their second time around. The single behind us not only hit into us but drove the ball to where it almost hit me in the air. There is no marshal and a blatant disregard for golf acetic on this course. If you pay full price you are being robbed. We will never play this course again.
nice day in the rain
Rained off and on for the whole round. Course played well with all the water! Greens were wet but real fast still! Great time playing! Will be back soon!!
