About
Blue Heron Golf Course, formerly known as Carnation Golf Course, first opened in 1967 but underwent a major renovation, in addition to the name change, after it was bought in 2011. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, the course would occasionally be overrun by the Snoqualmie River but thanks to improved drainage and irrigation features added in the renovation, the course is able to drain remarkably fast. At just a few yards shy of 6,000 yards, Blue Heron G.C. is on the shorter side but that is no indication of its level of difficulty. Golfers will face a variety of challenges including an abundance of bunkers strategically placed throughout. One of the toughest holes is the par-5 17th, which is a blind tee shot where a long iron might come in more handy than a driver.

Need more maintenance
Lost many balls because of fall leaves on the fairway. Player don't repair green therefore putting is challenging.

Blue Heron
Overall a fun day of golf, the weather was not as nice as expected. Because of recent rains and morning dew it was very wet. Expected the weather to improve over the round, but it stayed cloudy and dew remained on the greens even to the 18th hole.
Still a good course and would play again.

Ok Course for practice
The course is a OK course for practice. The rate is very good through GN. Condition is so so. A lots of leaves on fairway and side. Very easy to lose balls. Green is kind of slow nor consistent. A lot of places missing right grass but replaced by weed. Obviously lack of maintenance staff. It is not crowded at all so play pace is really good. Terrain has some interesting points. No bunkers. There is some big water area at some holes. This course can be a beautiful one if well maintained.

Nice golf course
This golf course is tougher than it appears. I am a mid-distance hitter off the tee & straight. If you're a long-hitter who is not down the middle, you can find some trouble. Fairly narrow fairways that are tree-lined, strategically placed tall trees keep you honest off the tee. Not a lot of bunkers. The greens appear easy, but many are diabolically difficult to read!!! Overall, a very satisfying course to play.

Blue Heron GC is improving
Blue Heron grounds crew has been working hard this summer to clean up the course, cut back overgrown areas and they've done a good job. It's not in perfect condition but is getting better. Overall, it's a decent course and a reasonable value. Driving range is on grass which is nice.

Fine for a quick affordable round
Course has some rough spots but they have been working on improving it. Very playable 6100 yard from the tips course. Greens had some bare spots. Finished in 4 hours for a fair price. Very buggy due to the river surrounding it. Didn't get bit by any insects but if you are playing during probable biting insect times wear pants and bring lots of bug spray!
