About
Blue Heron Golf Course, formerly known as Carnation Golf Course, first opened in 1967 but underwent a major renovation, in addition to the name change, after it was bought in 2011. Located in the Snoqualmie Valley, the course would occasionally be overrun by the Snoqualmie River but thanks to improved drainage and irrigation features added in the renovation, the course is able to drain remarkably fast. At just a few yards shy of 6,000 yards, Blue Heron G.C. is on the shorter side but that is no indication of its level of difficulty. Golfers will face a variety of challenges including an abundance of bunkers strategically placed throughout. One of the toughest holes is the par-5 17th, which is a blind tee shot where a long iron might come in more handy than a driver.

Yet to see a Blue Heron
1) Pro shop staff (James?) top shelf.
2) Coures layout perfect for walking.
3) Greens a little rough in shape
4) Friendly patrons here also
Ok Course for practice
The course is a OK course for practice. The rate is very good through GN. Condition is so so. A lots of leaves on fairway and side. Very easy to lose balls. Green is kind of slow nor consistent. A lot of places missing right grass but replaced by weed. Obviously lack of maintenance staff. It is not crowded at all so play pace is really good. Terrain has some interesting points. No bunkers. There is some big water area at some holes. This course can be a beautiful one if well maintained.

Nice golf course
This golf course is tougher than it appears. I am a mid-distance hitter off the tee & straight. If you're a long-hitter who is not down the middle, you can find some trouble. Fairly narrow fairways that are tree-lined, strategically placed tall trees keep you honest off the tee. Not a lot of bunkers. The greens appear easy, but many are diabolically difficult to read!!! Overall, a very satisfying course to play.

Blue Heron GC is improving
Blue Heron grounds crew has been working hard this summer to clean up the course, cut back overgrown areas and they've done a good job. It's not in perfect condition but is getting better. Overall, it's a decent course and a reasonable value. Driving range is on grass which is nice.

Fine for a quick affordable round
Course has some rough spots but they have been working on improving it. Very playable 6100 yard from the tips course. Greens had some bare spots. Finished in 4 hours for a fair price. Very buggy due to the river surrounding it. Didn't get bit by any insects but if you are playing during probable biting insect times wear pants and bring lots of bug spray!

course is pretty rough. Carts are in bad need of maint. Our parking brake was broke. the only other one available would not go in reverse.

Great Beginners course
Very casual with no pressure from golfers like other public courses pushing to go faster.
Great bar and restaurant as well. Very friendly staff but beware, they have been low on power carts if one is needed. Call ahead.

Disappointed
Friendly staff, restaurant is good, overall no complaints with service, but the course conditions are simply below average at best. For $50 a round, it’s just not a good value when you compare it to neighboring courses. All members in my group struggled just to get a tee into the tee box. Despite these challenges, I shot +6 over for the round. So I should be happy right! Signed disappointed.

Cart Included but not available and had to wait for 30 mins to get pull cart
I reserved with Cart. When I checked in they informed me that no cart available. And their attitude was like do you want to play or not. if you want just take pull cart which they offered. Guess what no pull cart available for at least 30 mins. Course was extremely and hard as concrete. ball bounced all over the course. many greens were damaged but not repaired. bunkers were over grown. Terrible course.

Beautiful setting, but….
This course has so much potential. The setting is worth the effort. Course upkeep, though…. Where do I start? The rough isn’t too bad, but there is no distinguishing between the rough and the fairway — which is to say, on most holes there really is no fairway per se. Greens are very inconsistent - baked dry on one, soft on the next. I had to rent a cart (bad knees) and the first one was dying from the moment we left.
Having said that — personnel were trying hard. Great group of teenage boys on the August weekend we were there. The grill was actually nice. All in all, though. Lot of improvement necessary before I will drive out to Carnation again.
