Twisted Dune Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Twisted Dune Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses. Located right on the Jersey Shore, Twisted Dune Golf Club is popular for it's beautiful views and challenging game. The deep ravines and grassy hills provide picturesque scenery and they also create interesting hazards for a good game.
Twisted Dune Golf Club lives up to his name with its twisting links-style layout, elevation changes, and rolling fairways. The golf course has par-5 holes that stretch over 500 yards as well as several par-4's and par-3's. The course also has wide fairways and large greens of bent grass.

Worst course in the area
Tee boxes a mess. Slow rate of play. No rangers to keep the pace up .SAND TRAPS ARE LIKE CONCRETE PADS WITH FIST SIZE ROCKS. Cart paths the worst condition I have ever seen. NOT WORTH THE GREENS FEES. Starters were nice pro shop personal not so nice.
Hard work shows
Played this course a couple of years ago and found it to be very unfriendly. Rough very high shore grass everywhere even on good shots you could lose a ball played today the difference in the course was great shore grass cu5 back, rough trimmed and the fairways in beautiful shape will be playing again very soon.
September 4
Nice layout, links style was fun tee boxes were rough greens rolled well pace of play was bag only completed 16 holes.
Disappointing
I had heard from a few people that Twisted Dune was a fun track and was very excited to finally play it, but left feeling very disappointed. It's an interesting layout and is challenging, but it's hard to have fun during a round that takes over 5 hours. Waited on every single shot. Didn't see a ranger the entire round. When we finished, bag guys didn't even acknowledge our frustration with the pace. Tee boxes were in horrible shape. Divots all over the fairway that weren't even half filled. Bunkers full of big rocks. Save your money and play elsewhere. Definitely not worth $100.
Awful pace. Cart path only - beautiful day. No ranger. Need more assistance from the pro shop to keep the pace moving. Ridiculously slow. I’ll pass on playing here in the future.
Poor Communication
My brother in law booked a 1:42pm tee time (we both use this app). The course was backed up 1 hour due to a 20 minute thunderstorm that had rolled thru - which is understandable. BUT they were also hosting a tournament and there was no warning of this.
So far, we've played 3 holes in ONE HOUR! Had a 40 minute wait on Hole 3 and so far a 40 minute wait on Hole 4! One of the golfers two groups ahead of us was actually permitted to walk thru the course - and it's a pretty long course. It's been absolute disgraceful. We've been looking forward to this course for months and our outing has devolved into aggravation and frustration. I would hope for a refund or an offer for a free round on an upcoming Sunday... but that's probably asking too much. It looks like a beautiful enjoyable course to play ... on a normal golf day.
Great to play
Fun links style course. Despite a heat wave lasting weeks and horrendous rain the last two weeks the course was in great shape. Well designed holes that are challenging but fair. Highly recommend it to all.
Very Disappointed
Always looking for new challenging courses. twisted dunes had tons of hype and want to be fair on certain things. course layout design beautiful, staff and amenities top notch. On the actual course conditions this is where we were extremely disappointed. tee boxes were destroyed, around greens ripped up and filled with weeds, zero effort to maintain anything besides fairways which were perfect. The greens however were slow and the cups looked like a kid cut them. Ripped edges and we were in the am so can't blame other golfers. Was fun day just wasn't up to the top 20 golf course in state vision had of place. Seemed more like abused county golf course with some great holes.
Good course, good experience, except one
I had an early morning tee time and found the facilities and experience fantastic. Unfortunately it had rained quite a bit in the past couple days, so the fairways and greens were extremely wet and mushy. Nevertheless, the course was in great condition and the layout was challenging,.
The staff were great, super friendly even in the early morning, except for one ranger who left us with an unpleasant experience. He was an older gentleman who came around a couple times to check on pace of play. At one point, we had fallen a whole hole behind, however, we were still on pace to finish within four hours and the group behind us were still a hold behind us as well. He stopped by and watched us take our shots, we audibly heard him refer to us as a "bunch of Chinese guys" over his radio and proceed to tell us we needed to catch up. Nothing major, but just felt it was in poor taste.
Course Needs Work
Played here last week and was very disappointed. Every single bunker was full of water or totally washed out. For a course that has been around so long, I would expect they have figured out how to to deal with their bunkers when it rains. It was clear the cups haven’t been moved in a few weeks as they were all overgrown around the edges. Lastly they would be smart to cut back some of the waste areas of bushes and trim down the fescue. When cart path only you had to climb through a jungle on some holes to get to the fairway.
