The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Blue Heron
I like Blue Heron. I play White tees. I think the course is challenging yet fair. Conditions both when I played Friday and over the summer are always good. My problem with BH is every time I play it I say I’m not coming back because the round is so freaking long. Every hole a wait. 5 hour round, again. Doesn’t matter what time I play. Early or mid morning. Same thing. I come back thinking it will be different but it isn’t.
FRUSTRATING
Everything was really good about the course and conditions including the weather. However, we were put out behind a group of 20+ extremely slow playing golfers! It took almost 3 hours to play the front nine! We made the turn in hopes that the group was only playing nine, but there they were, 100 yards up the fairway… We left frustrated and disappointed.

Great place - nice course - little slow play though - over all good
Nice layout
Course was in good condition. Greens fast and well manicured. Starter was pleasant and shared all pertinent information.
Aeration Notice
Between all the rain making the course soft and the aerating of the greens it was tough to judge the course, Played here before and everything was solid. I expect in a couple of weeks that will be true again.
Pace of play
Pace of play was absolutely terrible. Couldn’t finish 12 holes.
The course is designed well.
TheTees, greens and fairways were all in great shape. I plan to play there again.
Quality Round in Atlantic City Area
Definitely would say this is an above average course and one of Jaworki’s better locations. First time and here and will definitely be open to playing again when I’m in the area. Mostly a good experience- they keep it in prettt good shape. My only comments are the 10th hole and back 9 got backed up and the greens were very average speed for some reason despite not raining. Slightly disappointing as one of my favorite aspects of a golf course are challenging, quick, true greens. Would come back another time to see if they're rolling better.

Suggestion. Would have starter tell players to repair ball marks. Leave green the way u found it
Pretty Nice
Course was in excellent shape. Played the front in 90 minutes than ran into a logjam on 14 so the back took a little longer. Ranger informed us of the issue and it was a one off that could not be controlled. Still a beautiful day

Amazing clubhouse with driving range and putting green located directly adjacent, friendly accommodating staff, course is in great shape, greens are pristine.
Great place
Great round, not my score but Blue Heron, first time there and it was outstanding. Wide open holes, nice layout. Highly recommend
