A Public Gem
Great course! Tough course! The undulating greens reminded me of Old Bridge CC and will test your putting skills. One of my favorites in NJ so far.
Difficult but Great Course
This course was in great shape for May. The layout was unique and very challenging. Not a lot of flat lies out there (even if your in the fairway). Great driving range and warmup facility. Overall, this is a challenging but fun course to play. Highly recommend

Amazing experience from the moment we arrived until we left. Great course, great staff and worth every penny spent. Strongly recommend this course.
As Good as it Gets
Pristine doesn’t even do justice to the condition of this course in mid-May. It was immaculate, exceeding many high end private courses. Greens were fast and smooth as a pool table. I typically like to fix extra ball marks on the green when I have the opportunity to do that. I couldn’t do it today because there weren’t any ball marks to fix.. The course design is unique for this area. Not a bad hole on the course. And number 9 is undoubtedly the most dramatic par 5 in South Jersey. Just an exceptional all around experience. In a region with many high quality public offerings, Shore Gate is among the very best.
Shore Gate Never Disappoints!
This course is a beast! The layout is challenging and the greens are in great shape! Hands down one the best courses around.
Greens and fairways plugged
Course was very playable even though the greens and fairways were plugged recently.
Beware of the bunkers
There are 88 bunkers throughout the course plus tons of waste area making for a fun challenge. Despite the greens being punched and sanded earlier in the week, they still ran true not making aeration much of a factor. The cart girl, halfway staff and attendants were all very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back to pay here
Treat yourself!
Challenging. Pretty course. The attendants aren’t too attentive. Plan on setting yourself up coming and going, unless someone happens to wander over.
Super Nice
This is not too easy of a course. Beautiful with many many sand traps and large waste bunkers. Near top tier for public courses.
Shore Gate
course in good condition, they were over seeding in areas, not an issue. This course requires you to think about every shot, and you will use every club in the bag.
Not often you will have a flat lie, many downhill, side hill or up hill. I need to play this course more a lot to learn where to hit it off tees and the greens have plenty of slope. Bunkers a plentiful and difficult.
What was your time?
Course was in great shape for early in season. Starter was more worried about wiping clubs for tips than having any idea about handling his starter tasks. Guy asked everyone person what time you got and what's name again about 10 times then ran inside every time he got frazzled to guess ask what to do. Maybe new guy. But shouldn't be the starter and your first experience at course. Everyone is there to make as much money as possible. Just don't be so obvious and good at that task only. And buy yourself a watch with tips. Lol.
