Tee-d Off, and not in a good way!
Pace of play too slow and that is now happening more regularly and no push from rangers. Couple of greens were in bad shape. Some of the tee boxes also in poor condition.
Bunkers looked like they took they had been shelled by the USS Nimitz.
To cap it all off, no 17th hole due to maintenance and only $5 taken off for this unannounced news. The re-View is Clear, steer clear of Clearview until management focuses on improving their handicap.
An oasis in the shadow of the Throgs Neck Bridge
I enjoyed playing yesterday. The 10th hole was closed for renovation making for a very long walk from the 9th hole to the 11th tee. I checked in on Golf Now, received a confirmation, but the starter did not accept it, forcing me to waste time by checking in anyway.
A Value Course
Not fancy but for under $50 I’d say it’s worth it. They are clearly working on improving the conditions and that takes time. Some holes are in good shape. Others need more work. It’s a pretty true par 70 unlike some courses with several par 4s under 375. I liked it.
Picturesque Well-Maintained Oasis
I enjoyed playing here because it provides a challenge that does not overwhelm me with difficulty. The Ranger informed us that a group had cut in at the turn. Instead of informing us, he should have ejected them. Instead the back nine took ten minutes longer and the young perpetuators looked like they urinated around on the green at the 14tb hole.
The course have been improved
The place of play is still too slow.
3hrs for 9 holes is just too much, I quited after 9 holes.
There are few new tee boxes but they don't bother to water it. It is bone dry and you need a hammer to plug the tee into the ground[ It felt Iike winter golf again].
The green are getting better but it needs more work.
Overall, I am glad the new management put in the work to improve the course.
Course conditions
The course greens and fairways are in terrible conditions on half the holes. You don't want to pay for a course and have to experience greens you can't really play on.
If you're just looking to get out and swing your clubs and not keep score, then things a decent track.
close, but not close
Quick beef. Trying to make me share the cart i paid for with a random golfer. I understand economical...but im knocking knees with randos for 6 hours...
Did i mention the pace is slow
Also the rough is way too long
"Yeah, they need to cut it. Machine is broken"

Still on the way - improving.
On this visit, all tee boxes and all greens are now completely open. Conditions-wise, the rough is still VERY long, probably a bit too long. Fairways are decent. Bunkers were piles of sand under repair a few weeks ago, now the sand is down, though they can still use some work (and rakes!!) Greens were rolling very slow and they were fairly bumpy. Better than last year, better than a few weeks ago. Still needs work, but improving.
Overall, layout is fine, not particularly exciting. Most holes are fairly straight, a few blind shots. Beginner friendly for the most part - can get away with topping the ball and having it stay in play, and almost no forced carries.
