Good course!
The course is improving. Aeration slowed the green for now, but definitely the course is getting better!!
Has issues but still good
The greens are rough but they’re getting better. I always go pretty early and the pace of play has always been great, and the staff are extremely friendly. So yeah it has issues, it’s not the best but I come here often and I still say it’s pretty ok/good. Oh and besides the greens being regrown, and the tee boxes being rehabbed, when it rains there are a few holes that get pretty nasty flooding
Course in terrible shape / 5.5 hour round
The fairways are non-existent - high grass, low grass, huge mud spots and pot holes. The greens have almost as much sand on them as the bunkers, which are mostly large holes full of rocks and mud. Lots of tee boxes under construction also means the tee boxes are just dropped in random dirt spots in the rough.
Much improved
I have been playing at this course for a while. But stop going there since 2022 due to the poor green conditions. Now the fairway green condition is much better and in the process of aeration in putting areas. Has beautiful bridge views. Staffs are much more friendly. Will definitely go back.
Awesome change
I have been going here for over 30 years. What I feel with this change in ownership is that they are making a huge difference. I applaud the cleanliness and change for the better. However, it is not as professional as Douglaston Golf Course. Why does this place require a receipt for the starter? I don't know if they do, but in other places, apps like Golf Now make booking very easy by checking in via phone.
Not up to par
I played mid-March on a Saturday teeing off early afternoon. Took 4 hours and 40 minutes. That's probably an average time for NYC/Long Island public courses - which is not good. The two staff members we interacted with were friendly, nice, and helpful. There's just nothing to the course and its just beat up, which I was expecting, although I have not played here in at least 7-8 years. It is spring/pre-season so I didn't expect the course to be in great shape - and it wasn't so there's hope it will improve in the coming months. If you're looking for a course to go out and learn the game or just get in a round and don't need a beautiful course, then this is fine. We took a cart but many on the course were walking - which would've been fine because we waited on maybe 1/3 of the tees to play the next hole. I would rate this below Douglaston, all 3 Eisenhower courses, and the Bethpage course I've played.
