Great course
Great course for your every day golfer. Course condition was really good and pin placement was fair, no crazy layouts. Would highly recommend playing this course at least once.

The course was overall in the best shape I have seen it in for a little. A few tee boxes need some love and whole 16 we in really bad shape. It was nice that the rough was cut down (I played Mountainview the week prior and it was awful). Playing as a single I got stuck behind some slower groups that didn't let me play through which was annoying but totally understand as that happens with a single. The reason it just isn't a 5 star is just that its a great course, just not a 5 star course, nothing bad, I'll always play it and for the price I'll always be back!

I’ve played Lakeview, numerous times over the past years and never know what I will find. This was first time for 2021 and the fairways were great, the greens were fast, but the cart paths bordered on nearly undriveable and the bunkers sucked. The “Staff”, who appeared to be comprised of WVU students, seemed to be more focused on their cell phones than their guests. I’m sure Governor Justice wouldn’t approve of them acting like I was inconveniencing them with my questions of them!
We encourage you to bring up these type of issues to our golf course management while on property so that we can address your concerns and discuss the details of your experience.
Sand traps tough to play
Fairways very good; greens fast -best to be below the hole because there is very little chance to stop a putt from above the hole
Condition of most sand traps was Only thing keeping this from a 5 star.

Has potential. Greens in good shape
The course was not in very good condition, especially the traps. The fairways were in bad shape, hopefully they will improve after spring rains.
On # 10, we were getting ready to tee off when a single came down in his cart, jumped on the tee and hit his ball. As he got in his cart, he smiled and said sorry. Then as we were on #12, 3 kids in two carts came out of nowhere, blew past us (twosome), went to the next tee, jumped in front of us and teed off. I've been on public courses where this never happened. I guess people who live there think they can do what ever they please. Not a professional outfit.

Good course
Nice course. I played here about 7 or 8 years ago and it was better than I remembered. Picturesque views of the nearby lake and a good mix of easier birdie holes and tougher challenging holes

A shame
This course and mountainview used to be great.... they are now awful. Lakeview is the premier course with mountainview being less nice sister course. If you want to play lakeview on a weekend it will cost about $75. I wouldn’t pay $20 to play a course in this condition. The employees act like it’s in great shape and a hidden gem, 15 years ago that was true now it’s complete trash. I was terribly disappointed they let a beautiful course fall into unplayable shambles. The next day I tried out mountainview and the person working the counter recognized me. He wouldn’t even accept my money, let me play for free because of how terrible it was. In the back to back days I spent on the courses I didn’t see a single person working on anything, not a single lawn mower running. It’s a shame but find somewhere else.

Mishandled review
My initial review of this days experience at Lakeview was a result of me jumping to conclusions about the interface of Golf Now ant Lakeview reservations.
This facility has always been great to me. The Staff is friendly and caring and the experiences have been outstanding.
The course has been in good shape through a tough year and while every course needs some attention to some areas of play, overall they do a nice job.
I want to apologize to the staff and management of the resort as a result of my intemperate review as it was the rantings of a frustrated golfer on a frustrating day rained out by the golf gods.
I would hope that I can eventually have my initial review removed.
