Heatherwood Golf Club

About
Heatherwood Golf Club is the sister course to the Pine Hills Country Club, which is a 30-minute drive away in Manorville. It is a short golf course at a little over 4,000 yards but the layout offers excellent short game practice. It is also a good test of your iron play. There are no par 5s but the golf course has an interesting variety of reachable par 4s and challenging par 3s. Mature trees are abundant throughout the course, specifically concentrated along the fairways. One of the most unique holes is the 11th, which features an optical illusion that causes players to line up in a way that makes their balls go to the right. The trick is to adjust your stance slightly left but even if you are still off the green is mercifully large and forgiving.

Challenging Executive Course
Always a fun and challenging executive course to play.
Course is in great shape. Greens track well..
Plays in under three hours.
One of my favorites
HeatherWood Gf
A great executive course - mostly par 3’s but a few nice par 4’s - well laid out. Excellent course to practice on the short game - enjoyable.
Great short course to practice your iron play. Only 2 maybe 3 holes you can pull out your driver. Played an early morning round was done in a little over 2 hrs. Greens where great only thing that needs work is there bunkers which where rock hard.
Going to be missed!
Whenever they decide to close this course for development it will be a sad day; great course for beginners through seniors.
Home course
Great executive course, my go to. Always in great shape. On a good day can be played in under 3 hours. Might be last year as 18 holes, it's going condo. Heard it is going to be cut down to 9 holes. I am going to miss it.
Disappointed
We found this on Golf now. It was 4 stars and not sure why. We played this as far back as possible to get it to 4,000 yards. I will say this was our fault for not looking further into the details.
We were a threesome and asked if we could take three carts to speed up our round as we came for the PGA. We are already pretty good fast golfers and thought we could finish the round in 2 1/2 hours getting up to Bethpage sooner. The staff member said no. Must be expensive to run them. Lol. The carts are from 1950 or so. The layout was ok but not something we would ever do again after being there.
I’m sure the guys that want to hit a driver twice in a round out like this course.
Should have closed
The course was supposedly closing last year. It should have since they are not maintaining it.
Great course in top shape
The staff was very friendly....The course itself was in beautiful condition after such a heavy rain the day before...Love the course..will be back over the spring and summer.
A disappoinment
This used to be a fun, challenging little golf course. As they use to say "A diamond in the rough" It is still fun and challenging but the condition has deteriorated since I last played last December and I'm guessing it is because it is scheduled to close this year(when, they still don't know) and they are not too concerned about maintaining it and probably don't have the bucks to do so. What a shame. I don't plan on playing again unless the condition changes. It reminds me of Rolling Oaks only because that is another small local course that has seen better days and also one that I don't plan to play again because of its neglect.
Review of Heatherwood Golf Ciurse
The course is in very good shape. No problems at all.
