Lake Isle Country Club
About
Located in the heart of Eastchester, Lake Isle Country Club is a facility that is owned by the town and offers a swimming complex with five pools and a tennis center with eight courts in addition to the 18-hole, championship golf course. Opened in 1926, the course is one of the oldest in the area and it is still a local favorite. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the course may be on the shorter side but it still offers some challenging holes. The layout is mostly reachable par 4s as well as a few tricky par 3s and only an occasional par 5. The golf course has a classic design that is approachable enough for a range of skill levels to feel comfortable tackling the layout.

not a championship course
plays like a municipal course and doesn't feel like a championship course at all. strange layout, mud traps (no sand) and no rhythm to the course. i got a great deal on golfnow so i tried it out, but i doubt i will return.
Yardage
Could use yardage cards to show how far from center of green the hole is located
Terrific
Course was in good shape,
The staff was very good, pleasant and helpful. I will defiently go back there again.
Good for the money
Lay out is a bit quirky to start. Alot of short par 4's
Make it fun. The par 3's are the most challenging part of course. Played from back tees par 3' avg about 185 yards.
best part of course where the greens. Even aerated
a week before they run fast and true.
Lake Isle Country Club
With our group spread from Staten Island to Eastern Long Island to Stanford, Ct., Lake Isle is a fairly good compromise for a group of ole' buds to meet several times during golf season.Lake Isle is an easy track to play on. Midweek, it is not too crowded, and the course is usually kept in decent condition. There are some link-style holes which are a bit confusing (and the biggest downside to the course). Nevertheless, your bang for the buck is very good. There are also locker and pool facilities on the premises. Although you have to be a member, you might be able to sneak a quick dip on a hot summer's day (so bring an extra b-suit. Moreover, The Brasserie is an excellent restaurant close by to enjoy cocktails and a late lunch/early dinner with the boyz!
We always have a great day when we visit Lake Isle!
A fall afternoon
We had a most pleasant experience there this week...Foliage abounds...
Fall Trees were scenic
Fairways ok, greens slow, rough hard and patchy grass, pace 4:45, course tight, lots of mature trees....that sums it up.
Nice Layout but
The layout is nice greens are good, tees and faiways okay but go off a little in the rough and there is just dirt in many places very dried out needs some work in many places.
Beautiful shape
This course is always in beautiful condition. the greens run true and are not difficult to read. The pace of play is usually good and play under 4 hours.
Short & Dry
It's amazing what a little rain can do for a golf course. We played Lake Isle on what has been the hottest and most humid day of the entire year and that may have actually turned out to be a good thing (at least for this review)
For the first 12 holes, I found Lake Isle to be a short, rather average course that was marred by large areas of burnt out rough, tee boxes and dry crusty greens. Then came the rain!!! Fortunately, there was no thunder or lightning so we were able to take refuge under some canopy for about 20 minutes. When we re-emerged, we found a much nicer, more lush course that was obviously very badly in need of some water. It was like a magic wand had come and changed the course into, what I have to assume, it is normally like. the greens suddenly became receptive to well struck shots, the fairways looked much greener and thanks to the temperature dropping few degrees, the rest of my round was very pleasurable, including witnessing my playing partner's first eagle, which he holed out from about 75 yards.
Overall, I would give this course the benefit of the doubt and play it again, the layout was typical for a NY/NJ course, the price was good and there were many other country club like amenities that can be taken advantage of.
Nice day
i wanted to play over the weekend; i checked the weather which indicated good conditions for Saturday. I booked at Lake Isle online. It turned out to be a great day.
I was paired up with two other players (nice company) and the weather was great. I had a nice time out.
Not impressed
The course left a lot to be desired. Course looked like a muni course I played in the Bronx. The other parts of the country club seemed really nice but the course was not maintained well. Fairways were patchy in some parts, the greens were in great shape though. Tee boxes were from poor to good condition. I wouldn't return.
Nice course
A good round of golf. Starts a little short then gets more challenging. Not quite country club quality, but well maintained.
Take a pass
Course not in very good shape. A lot of burned spots. Pace of play was SLOW.
Lake Isle
Great course. I'd much rather pay an extra $15 to play Lake Isle than play one of the county courses. Considering joining the course in future years if I'm able to play enough. The pace of play, even on weekends is typically no more than 4.5 hours. Compare that with one of the Westchester county courses, there's simply comparison. The course is in great condition. Relatively short par 4's, but most of the par 3's are quite long. The par 5's are reachable in 2 but are challenging.
Bogey Golf
The course plays short. Should be played from the tips
Lake Isle
Course was in great shape & we teed off on time. Only issue was no alcohol being served as they are going thru new ownership & have not yet received their liquor license.
Nice Course for the Money
No food or beverage on the course, No 19th hole. Having a lounge would make the overall outing much better.
Great pace of play excellent price
Great value for the money. Better then any other public course in westchester
Comfortable Course
Lake Isle is a good course for higher handicaps as it is pretty straight forward and not overly long.
