Lake Isle Country Club
About
Located in the heart of Eastchester, Lake Isle Country Club is a facility that is owned by the town and offers a swimming complex with five pools and a tennis center with eight courts in addition to the 18-hole, championship golf course. Opened in 1926, the course is one of the oldest in the area and it is still a local favorite. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the course may be on the shorter side but it still offers some challenging holes. The layout is mostly reachable par 4s as well as a few tricky par 3s and only an occasional par 5. The golf course has a classic design that is approachable enough for a range of skill levels to feel comfortable tackling the layout.

Very nice course, not crowded
The greens were perfect, the pace was fairly fast for a weekend afternoon and the value through golfnow discount was fantastic. The two issues I had were with the bunkers which were very dense and their very short driving range and extra light range balls (I'm sure they have an actual name but as beginner I'm not sure what it is). Overall experience was very good. Will certainly play again.

Much improved
The course has been improved dramatically over the past few years. Strongly recommend
OK
The course was decent, but had many very easy holes. Bunkers could use some more sand and rough had some bare patches. The greens were good.
Pace of play is the only plus
Fast paced only because no one ever plays. For a young player like myself the source was terrible. It's a very short course very straight forward. The land needs to be twicethe size to be a real golf course.
Fairways , Bunkers and Greens are in excellent shape
Fairways, Bunkers and Greens are in excellent shape.
Pretty Good Shape
Course still recovering from the winter as all courses in the area are doing. Greens were in pretty good shape. Most of the aeration holes closed up. As all courses in the NEEDS some Sunny, Dry days. Very friendly staff and pace of play was good. No concession on a Friday morning which was a little perplexing. Definitely play again
Great value
Anytime you can play this course for $50 or under it's a great deal. The staff has been friendly every round I've played there. The pro is super nice and he took the time to chat with my group while we were waiting for our tee time. They do their best to accomodate you here, which I appreciate.
The course was in good shape considering all the rain from the last week. Fairways here are fantastic. Greens are quick. There were a lot of workers out laying new rough around the greens, but they were courteous.
Only two drawbacks I can think of really. One being a temporary thing. They were spraying some chemical to head off a mosquito problem from all water on #12. The smell was pretty bad for several holes. The other being the sand traps. They were all really muddy and the sand itself is not the fluffy type. I played with guys that consider that their home course and they told me Lake Isle is looking into fixing this as soon as the money becomes available.
The amenities were good. Golf carts are new and very fast. They have a little range with free balls. The caveat being irons only and the balls are some composite ball not a real golf ball weight. Still it does the trick if all you need to do is get loose.
The course itself is always pretty and offers different challenges. A bland course this is not. Plenty of good scenery and if you like various kinds of birds, you'll see quite a few. First couple holes are short and offer chances of low scores, but there are some real test holes. Meaning you have plenty of doglegs and changes in elevation. You don't have to hit the ball a mile to play well here, but you must shape shots and land greens because there is trouble if you miss by more than a few feet.
If you can hit an iron off the tee 190-220 straight you won't need to pull driver more than a few times. Putting greens are fast, and some of the pin placements are extremely tough.
Overall, I highly recommend this course. It's affordale considering the area and always an enjoyable round. That value is hard to match.
Loved the course.
Very nice course. I know the conditions will only improve as the weather improves. Sand traps are not at their best yet. Greens were good but will improve as season continues. I recommend this course.
Nice layout
Everyone from pro shop, course rangers, and fellow players were great. Practice area was a bit small but not a deal breaker, course was fun, fair and you use most clubs in your bag.
Love Lake Isle
Great place, never too crowded. I am tempted to write a bad review to keep it that way!!!
Nice and well maintained
Went on a weekday so empty and finished in 3.5 hours. Course was very well maintained and it is not too difficult so me and my wife enjoyed a nice round. We took a cart but definitely walkable course. Will go back again for sure.
Coming back when the weather breaks!
Played here on a foggy/misty Sunday in Nov. We showed up an hour early and were told we could tee off whenever. Course provided a really fun interesting layout. Fairways and greens were awesome. I could not believe how well the greens were rolling considering the time of year. Staff did a nice job with all the leaves as well. My only issue was with some bare spots in the rough, can't stand to hit off hard pan dirt lies! Will definitely return here. Location super convenient for me coming from Westchester.
The course is short but challenging.
Surprisingly the course was in great shape. The greens especially, rolling very good.
Great course layout
I was pleasantly surprised at the large size and layout of this course. The staff was super friendly took time to show us the course lay out. The value was great and we took advantage of the sales in the pro shop.
Course is tight need to be accurate on your drives
Lake isle is a nice course well kept for October not many leaves. The front 9 was just air raided and were in good condition
Wonderful value
Country club no but better than most
Just below but great value
just ok
Confusing for first time play. greens were a bit dry. Slow players in front.. Not one of my favorites but would play again for the right price.
The course is a great value.
Just like every time I come to Lake Isle, the staff is always cordial and professional. It is always a easy feeling when you show up there and you never feel rushed. The course also plays great and the greens being in good shape most of the time is a rare feature in Westchester public courses.
Fair course with varied terrain and very fast greens
Staff is friendly. The course is varied with up and downs plus doglegs, long par 3s and tree-lined fairways. The greens are extremely fast. The pace of play was moderate but with golfers letting faster players go through. Overall the course is somewhat dried out. A picturesque course.
Has the feel of a private members-only club.
Great course and well maintained. All the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great conditions, even for how late in the season I played. It sure does have a private club atmosphere to it. The course runs some short par 4's, but don't let the yardage fool you, they are some challenging holes. 3 of the par 3's run at 200+ yards making them very challenging also. Overall I enjoyed this course and hope to go play it again soon. The golfnow hot deal was at a great price too.
