Lake Isle Country Club
About
Located in the heart of Eastchester, Lake Isle Country Club is a facility that is owned by the town and offers a swimming complex with five pools and a tennis center with eight courts in addition to the 18-hole, championship golf course. Opened in 1926, the course is one of the oldest in the area and it is still a local favorite. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the course may be on the shorter side but it still offers some challenging holes. The layout is mostly reachable par 4s as well as a few tricky par 3s and only an occasional par 5. The golf course has a classic design that is approachable enough for a range of skill levels to feel comfortable tackling the layout.

Nice Layout but
The layout is nice greens are good, tees and faiways okay but go off a little in the rough and there is just dirt in many places very dried out needs some work in many places.
Beautiful shape
This course is always in beautiful condition. the greens run true and are not difficult to read. The pace of play is usually good and play under 4 hours.
Short & Dry
It's amazing what a little rain can do for a golf course. We played Lake Isle on what has been the hottest and most humid day of the entire year and that may have actually turned out to be a good thing (at least for this review)
For the first 12 holes, I found Lake Isle to be a short, rather average course that was marred by large areas of burnt out rough, tee boxes and dry crusty greens. Then came the rain!!! Fortunately, there was no thunder or lightning so we were able to take refuge under some canopy for about 20 minutes. When we re-emerged, we found a much nicer, more lush course that was obviously very badly in need of some water. It was like a magic wand had come and changed the course into, what I have to assume, it is normally like. the greens suddenly became receptive to well struck shots, the fairways looked much greener and thanks to the temperature dropping few degrees, the rest of my round was very pleasurable, including witnessing my playing partner's first eagle, which he holed out from about 75 yards.
Overall, I would give this course the benefit of the doubt and play it again, the layout was typical for a NY/NJ course, the price was good and there were many other country club like amenities that can be taken advantage of.
Nice day
i wanted to play over the weekend; i checked the weather which indicated good conditions for Saturday. I booked at Lake Isle online. It turned out to be a great day.
I was paired up with two other players (nice company) and the weather was great. I had a nice time out.
Not impressed
The course left a lot to be desired. Course looked like a muni course I played in the Bronx. The other parts of the country club seemed really nice but the course was not maintained well. Fairways were patchy in some parts, the greens were in great shape though. Tee boxes were from poor to good condition. I wouldn't return.
Nice course
A good round of golf. Starts a little short then gets more challenging. Not quite country club quality, but well maintained.
Take a pass
Course not in very good shape. A lot of burned spots. Pace of play was SLOW.
Lake Isle
Great course. I'd much rather pay an extra $15 to play Lake Isle than play one of the county courses. Considering joining the course in future years if I'm able to play enough. The pace of play, even on weekends is typically no more than 4.5 hours. Compare that with one of the Westchester county courses, there's simply comparison. The course is in great condition. Relatively short par 4's, but most of the par 3's are quite long. The par 5's are reachable in 2 but are challenging.
Bogey Golf
The course plays short. Should be played from the tips
Lake Isle
Course was in great shape & we teed off on time. Only issue was no alcohol being served as they are going thru new ownership & have not yet received their liquor license.
Nice Course for the Money
No food or beverage on the course, No 19th hole. Having a lounge would make the overall outing much better.
Great pace of play excellent price
Great value for the money. Better then any other public course in westchester
Comfortable Course
Lake Isle is a good course for higher handicaps as it is pretty straight forward and not overly long.
Novice Golfer
Had a wonderful experience at Lake Isle. My first time playing 18 holes, have been taking lessons and have only played 9 previously.
Found the Staff very friendly and helpful. They paired me with others and I was pleased to keep up with them. Have to say that I picked up the ball on the greens a few times.
Look forward to going back again.
Great Roumd
our tee time was 12:23, We stated Playing at 12:00. First time playing this course so we where learning as we go. The course needs better signage so you know what hole you are playing. Overall we had a great day.
Good Value
Nice course greens and tee boxes in great shape. Friendly staff. Sand traps need work but overall a good value and course in much better shape than nearby westchester muni courses.
Very nice but had no beer at the snack bar...
Very nice course...keep it in fairway and you can score well...The greens were on the fast side but we'll kep...tee off @ 3:15 and pretty much had course to ourselves....
Lake Isle for first-timers
Fairways and green were in great shape. Course is short so it is more target golf than anything. However, there are many tee shots that make you think, which I enjoyed. You can't be afraid to use an iron off the tee on several par 4's to give yourself a good second shot.
Overall, definitely worth a trip if you have never played there before.
Short but tough
Find a 3-4pm tee time and you'll finish in 3 hrs. Course in really nice shape! Short par 4's and long par 3's. Lots of hills and some blind tee shots. Severe dog legs. You could play this course without a driver if your pretty good. Not the best design but a few really beautiful holes. Me and my brother got a 4PM tee time and finished at 7:15 for 40$ each. Can't beat that in westchester! Golfnow.com for tee times because it's a semi private club for eastchester/tuckahoe.
Nice track
The starter is awesome gets you out right on time, the course is in tremendous condition despite the rain. The greens were a little bumpy. But I has a great Father's Day round.
