It is a good course to playy
I would Diff. go back and play that course again. The yardage of course was short but well worth Playing it.
nice challenge for the size of course
Would gave been great to have a discount for persons with military ID. "REMEMBER ALL GAVE SOME BUT SOME GAVE ALL."
cold golf
It was our first time out this year, but the weather was cold with 10 mph winds and gusts.the course was in great shape considering the winter we had.
Great shape
The course was in great shape after a terrible winter. The staff were very accommadating.

Price is right
$24 weekday twilight single walking - the price is right! Been coming here since 2010 and try to make it once a week. Convenient as I work nearby and can usually get a full 18 holes in 3 hours. Course is kept in good shape, I make it a point to fix fairway divots and repair at least a couple of ball marks on the greens during my round. Very friendly staff, lost my putter cover one time an notified them. It was found and returned to me the following day!
Short but sweet
I never considered playing here in the past due to the short yardage 4K something. But I was tired one day and was hoping to get a 9 in. Came across this and decided to give it a go.
There are a lot of difficult par 3s and decent length par 4s here. The course is pretty hilly and with the elevation its not as easy as one would expect. The grounds were in good shape for a city course.
The staff were really nice and helpful. The pace of play was great as we were the only group out at the time, lucky for us. But this is a city course so expect long waits as others have mentioned.
Magnificent Surprise
This was my first time to play at Kissena. The
location was very accessible. Course conditions superb. For my level of play it is
an exceptionally challenge but manageable.
It was a very fun, rewarding experience.
Great Day of Golf
Played on Sunday, its was great. Played with my son. The people at Kissena Golf Course are the best , love playing there, from the club house, starter to the concession stand. They are great. will keep going back.
Old time favorite.
This is the only course I played on for the first five years I played golf and I always come back every year to play it. The course was in the best condition I can remember. The course is short but all the bad lies caused by the hills makes for a fun time. I will come back every year if the course is always this good.
Slow Play
For an short course such as Kissena it should not take more than 3-1/2 hrs. It took our foursome more than 4-1/2 hours to play. I would not play this course again
SHORT BUT TRICKY
SHORT COURSE ,BUT HILLY. REQUIRES SOME WELL PLACED T SHOTS.
Uphill challenges
I played this course twice so far. As a walk in I dropped $47.00 for one with a cart and that's alright for where I live but then I booked here and played for $19.00 yesterday and again today for even less.they always have hot deals and it's a great course. Longest hole is a par 4 390 yards so it's great long and short game.
Great course to play
Great course and the grounds are well maintained. Keep up the great work. Had an excellent day and great game at 88!!!
Would play again
This was our first time playing this course, so we don't have other visits to compare it to. But it was a nice enough afternoon for us to return for another round. We booked thru Golfnow.com and had a noon tee time. We were set off by the starter before our time which was fine. The first few fairways are close to each other, so if you hit it o/b they encourage you to bring it back to your fairway, no problem. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough was a bit high, but due to several days of rain in the area this was expected. But, they were in the process of grooming the course while we were playing and we're not in our way. The sand traps we in bad condition, again due to the heavy rains. My only complaint would be the cut grass that was left on the course after being mowed. They were huge clumps of grass, almost like hay. This was left on the fringes of some greens which did effect play. Over all it was a pleasant afternoon for our first time there. The staff was friendly and helpful. We we'll come back again to play this course.
Kissena is OK
NO Sand Trap Maintenance... otherwise, course was generally well tended. Some of the ROUGH was a bit gnarly.
A bit of the slow play is due to 2-3 really poor choices on Tee Box Placements that are right on top of Previous greens. Hitting an approach shot (and even some tee shots) is irresponsible on several hole where the following tee box is right on top of the previous green.
It's a short course, but a beginner/iterm. will use most clubs. Generally, a very attractive stroll!!!
Hit "Chinatown Fluishing" on the way out---makes a nice day!!!!
A pleasant surprise
Being early in the season, I did not expect the condition to be good as experienced in other NY City courses. I was pleasantly surprised that the greens and fairways were in very good condition considering the pretty bad 2013 winter months. Kudos to the Supt. and the staff. Well done!
Min Chun Hsu
The course is good, it's good for new player too. But, the course needs to have more sign to show the route, hole to hole, We a little lost from 11 hole to 12 hole.
