Like putting on sand
The greens were aerated and putting on sand with holes caused many missed putts. The tee boxes were also aerated. The golf course didn't warn about the aerated greena.
Love playing on this course
I love playing on this course because it is challenging although it is short course. I recommend to an everyone play on this course.
Short But Challeging!
Kissena is a fun Golf Cours .Short par 4s and difficult, uphill par 3s. Course is in ok Condition.
Kissena looking a little rough
Tucked into a busy suburban NYC neighborhood Kissena offers a short par 64 course that is often not too busy midweek which is rare for Queens. The tee nieces and fairways had tons of crabgrass and were in rough shape. The greens were solid but far spectacular but all in all not a bad little mini given where and what it is.
Well maintained
2nd time playing. Course is fun. Only issue we had was a group of 4 ahead of us. 1 adult and 3 teens. Though I'm all for new players learning the game, their pace was very slow. Often taking multiple shots and around 6-7 practice swings. However, the Course itself is in nice shape. Some of the tees were a bit chewed up, but nothing serious.
Early Morning Start Delayed
My tee time was for 706am and I did not tee off till 750am. When I arrived there was a line at the box waiting to go. The starter had no clue what he was doing to pace out the play. Groups were waiting to tee off when they walked off the green not as they approached and were standing on the green. The front nine was 2.5 hours and the back was 2. If you can get a tee time somewhere else do it. The tee boxes were like the rough… smh
Slowest round possible
I stopped playing after 9 holes, I payed for 18, but after 2 hours 40 minutes to finish 9 and two foursomes waiting at the 10 hole. I realized I’m done for the day. The cart paths are shot on the holes that actually have a pathway. It’s a great course for people learning the game, but the course layout with back to back par-3’s and almost half the holes on the course being par-3’s really slows the pace of play.
