Hudson Hills Golf Course

It was a nice challenging course. Conditions were good especially considering all the rain from the day before. Appreciated the golf carts having gps given it was our first time on this course and it has a unique layout with several holes containing blind spots. The gps would alert you of.those hazards as you approached. I rated the course “average” value for the money as we had a weekday early afternoon tee time yet it felt like we were paying more like a weekend rate in comparison to most public courses in the tri-state area. A lot of the other players we encountered on the course were playing as singles which probably should have been consolidated to avoid the singles needing to play through. All in all it was a nice course in good condition on a great day!

Challenging course, esp front 9, excellent upkeep, staff great.

This is a really nice layout with a completely different front from back nice. The front is all about placement and accuracy while the back nine opens up and distance is a premium. Overall it’s a very challenging course and if you walk off it without losing a golf ball it’s a pretty amazing feat.

I used to think this course was a gem. But after playing some county courses in Jersey, and some other courses in the same area as Hudson Hills, I’ve changed my mind. This course is just ok. Westchster County courses are just not that great. Hey Westchester County, take a cue from places like Neshanic Valley down in jersey. It’s a top notch course and cost an arm and a leg to play it. HH is just someplace to play a quick twighlight round and get some practice in. $100+ dollars on a weekend for this place is a joke. This course isn’t worth more than about $60-$80, tops, on a weekend. Good shots are not rewarded at all. They’ve completely ruined the 15th hole by eliminating a landing area by allowing long grass to grow about 200 yards out. Greens are really hit or miss as far as conditions go. Same with the fairways and tees. Save your money, take a longer drive, and play someplace else. This course isn’t worth the asking price.

I’m sure I’ll be back here because it’s convenient for a late day round after work. But if I’m trying to play someplace really nice, and have the time, I’m going to drive a little further and pay less for a better course

I was a single, and everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. The course was in good condition, especially so for a public track. I didn’t have time to check out the Grill, so I can’t speak to that. But I definitely recommend HH, and will be back myself very soon.

First time playing this course. Tight course and some challenging holes, overall great experience but pace of play was very slow. Rangers need to a better job keeping it moving. Will definitely play again.

Some awesome holes. Good challenge from the green tees. But the 7th hole is a joke. And the 15th. Two of the crappiest par 5's in the country.

Very challenging, staff is awesome and laid back, stock up on golf balls.

too many blind shots. 1ft. rough near fairway. multiple penelty areas across fairways too wide for many players to clear from where their drive lands

I'm not a great golfer. But I've gotten a lot better over the past 5 years and Hudson Hills is part of the reason why. It's a no joke course with several blind tee shots and you really need to play with someone who knows where to hit it. But it's also a very creative layout that rewards a good straight shot. 7th and 15th par 5's appear impossible off the tee box with giant hazards in play on long drives, but can easily be reached in regulation with a 5w, 4i, pw. Complainers are just mad they can't hit a driver on every tee. A few easy par 3's over water. Great 4th hole par 4 downhill leg right...very reachable. Boxes get chewed up by the public golf crowd, but most of the course is in beautiful shape pending torrential rain. Don't hate. Learn the layout. For a county owned track, this is as good as you're getting east of the Hudson.

This was probably my 5th or 6th time playing hudson hills so i had an idea of what i was getting myself into. I knew it was a very hard course that was in good condition and had reasonable pace of play. Turns out only the hard part was still accurate. The course was in terrible condition. The fairways were wet and beat up and the greens were very dry and kind of bumpy. i actually could chalk this up to all the wet weather they had so they get a slight pass. The round took 5.5 hours long and we had a group of average golfers in front of us playing from the back tees which have a rating of 73.7 ( HARD). whats worse is that they were still waiting even though they were spending half their day looking for balls. The rangers were basically non existent until i went into the pro shop after nine and complained. They cleared it up for 2 holes and then we went back to waiting on every single shot. This is on YOU hudson hills to keep people moving and get people to play under 5 hours.

they also made the course even harder on the par 5 15th by letting the native grass grow right in the middle of the fairway basically blocking you from hitting driver off the tee and forcing you to lay up off the tee. the hole is already 560 yards up hill and now i have to hit 3 iron off the tee?? stupid. Honestly i can deal with how hard the front nine is if maybe there was somewhere to warm up but NOPE. They got rid of their little warm up net so you now you have to go out cold and play a 440 yard par 4 with marsh on the left, a 530 yard par 5 with a fairway the width of a small green, an uphill par 3 with a narrow green and then a 450 yard par 4 with OB left and hazard right. no wonder people play 3 hour front nines. they spend most of the time searching for their balls.

i will not be back here until i see glowing reviews about how these issues were fixed

Been playing this place for years. Used to be a really great course. Played today for the 4th time this year and the place was a horror show. Fairways completely ripped up. Thick muddy tire tracks and big ripped up dirt patches rampant on the fairways. Greens were awful. Didn’t roll true. Dark patches and big bumps all over each green. They let all the rough grow out. Was just as tough as Black. They let this place go completely. Like they didn’t do any work at all to this course. It’s a shame because this course has a great layout. $85 for residents is highway robbery for the way this place is kept up. Spend $10-20 more and go to a nicer course.
