A tough course first time around
Interesting layout but lots of blind shots the only real problem was on the 17th hole which was very up hill and didn’t know where the green was . They needed to let first time players know about that hole and that there is a sign on a tree to aim at but who knew that. What they need is an extra long pin poll.
The only other problem was the fairways where in poor condition due to lots of rain . I would go back really nice course.
Friendly Staff, challenging course
Can't say enough about the staff. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. Pace of play was very good. Course conditions need some help, possibly caused by the amount of rain in recent weeks.
Might as well walk
Cart path only for just about 90% of this course, so plan on walking uphill for every shot after the tee box. Everything’s roped off like the course is in pristine condition. Most fairways look like they had road spikes thrown down and were dragged for 100 yards. It’s a difficult course. Almost entirely hills, sand traps are mostly dirt. The rough will make you never want to play golf again. I can’t imagine who plays here for 100 a clip. The hot deal at 35 made me wanna toss my clubs out onto the taconic.
Hudson Hills
Challenging course that helps to play with someone that has played before. A couple of tough long uphill par 4's will challenge all levels. Par 5 10th has big Risk Reward layout. Greens are true and roll nicely. Rough can be challenging.
Slooooow, even for a Sunday
Tee boxes very beat up (bare patches, mold patches etc), group of 5 allowed to play together (novice golfers with no concept of ready golf) midday on a Sunday and no ranger to speed up their play/hold them accountable for ready to play golf
Challenging Course
Hudson Hills is aptly named! Every hole has a unique personality. Most holes are narrow and challenging for an intermediate golfer. The carts have excellent GPS and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Recovered from what Mother Nature threw its way
Course was in great condition after all the rain we had earlier in the week. Had to play cart path only in the early morning but as soon as the course started drying out, the carts were programmed to allow you to drive 90 degrees. Matched up with 3 guys that were doing double rounds (heading to Centennial after Hudson Hills) and wished I could join them! The pace of play was excellent for a public course and I was able to get to work in Southern Westchester before noon! Second time playing this course this year and would definitely return.
Beautiful course
Course is hilly and the golf cart is not allowed in a koht of fairways requiring you to walk a bit. On a positivre mote, it provides a hreat workout.
Bang for your buck
The back nine is definitely more of a course- shotmaking is necessary on multi-contoured (but fair) greens (even if I couldn’t putt that day). The front nine is nice, though at times it feels as if they took the land they had and did the best they could with it. A 94 yard par 3 on the 9th hole epitomizes this.
This was not the first time I played Hudson hills, but it is the first in a couple of seasons. The course has changed a bit for the better. An enjoyable round on a Thursday afternoon with no waiting on any shots. And for less than 55 dollars (cart included- with GPS), it’s a good value. I will come back.
Hudson Hills Golf Course
This was my first time at Hudson Hills and before deciding to play it, I read lots of positive reviews and looked at pictures of the course. Most said the course was challenging and scenic. Well, they were right on target. I really enjoyed myself and the course configuration is absolutely challenging, but it is in excellent condition and above all, it's a fair golf course. The greens were rolling nicely and pin positions were also placed in fair locations on the greens. There are some blind holes, but if you look at the course, it is clear enough where you should be looking to place your shots. Hudson Hills requires you to play smart, to manage the course and you will do well! Great test of golf and just a lot of fun to play. The course is 90 minutes from my home, but it was worth the trip and I will definitely be returning soon!
Difficult long course
Great condition. Very long difficult course if you are a medium handicap player.
This course always gets me..
Tough front nine holes. Back nine is easier. Slower green than I expected when compared to last time I was here. Conservative plays wins the day here, and have to go aggressive on par 3s
Narrow and hilly
Very good public course. Blues are short, greens are long and blacks are extra challenging. Conditions were slightly soggy with challenging rough. Not my best outing.
A Tale of Two Course
Overall HH is a fun course band I will come back again two it is two different experiences . The front 9 has hills, slants, blind shots and a lot of unplayable rough so its more challenging. Your second shot will require a good iron game. The back 9 is comparably more open and level so you can get out the lumber and let it go.
Challenging course, well kept
Definitely one of the more challenging courses in Westchester. Beautiful layout and well kept
Not a golfer friendly course
This is not a course I would recommend. Balls hit in the fairway roll off because this course is built on a hill. Too many blind shots. The 2 foot fescue is right at the edge of the fairway so balls hit even a foot off the fairway are difficult to find. The only plus to this course I can say is that for every ball you lose, you find two others that are not yours.
