This course always gets me..
Tough front nine holes. Back nine is easier. Slower green than I expected when compared to last time I was here. Conservative plays wins the day here, and have to go aggressive on par 3s
Narrow and hilly
Very good public course. Blues are short, greens are long and blacks are extra challenging. Conditions were slightly soggy with challenging rough. Not my best outing.
A Tale of Two Course
Overall HH is a fun course band I will come back again two it is two different experiences . The front 9 has hills, slants, blind shots and a lot of unplayable rough so its more challenging. Your second shot will require a good iron game. The back 9 is comparably more open and level so you can get out the lumber and let it go.
Challenging course, well kept
Definitely one of the more challenging courses in Westchester. Beautiful layout and well kept
Not a golfer friendly course
This is not a course I would recommend. Balls hit in the fairway roll off because this course is built on a hill. Too many blind shots. The 2 foot fescue is right at the edge of the fairway so balls hit even a foot off the fairway are difficult to find. The only plus to this course I can say is that for every ball you lose, you find two others that are not yours.
Nice course
Course in real good shape. Harder then you think. A little slow pace, but Father’s Day. I liked it. A little pricey but at least very good condition.
Overall good experience.
Tough course for high handicapper. Nice for a public course. . Lack of driving range is a negative,. especially for someone unfamiliar with the course.
himalayan advenrture
If your looking for a hilly course, you found it. Tough course, somewhat narrow fairways and a lot of hill shots. Be prepared to walk a lot even though you took a cart. Very challenging.
SLOW GREENS
They need to cut the greens.
Today was not golf. Painful.
I won't return till they do.
A fair beast
I've played HH 3 times and I love it for the value (usually grab a Hot Deal for $35 with a cart).
If you like Centennial in Carmel and Richter Park in Danbury, you won't be dissapointed with HH.
The good stuff: challenging, mostly fair with a lot of variety and great views.. (truthfully you will have to play it more than once to feel you had a fair experience, there are some tricky holes)
The bad stuff: the tee shot off 2 is still a mystery. Just please KEEP IT RIGHT.
The tee shot off 10. If you're a long hitter (275+) hit it over the corner of the trees on the right. It's really hard to trust this.
15. No idea what's going on with that hazard across the fairway.
17. if you're accurate and land it in the fairway, your approach will play 1.5-2 clubs more (uphill).
tee box conditions weren't great, and the greens were MUCH slower than last year. 'Not sure what's going on.
Ok so that sounds like more bad than good, but it is a great track and potentially great value.
Great Course
I've never written a review of a course before so thay should say something there. I'm a 15 HCP who tries to get out every weekend.
I love Hudson Hills. It is such a neat course with cool design and elevation changes. Each hole uses the topography of the land to challenge you. The course is in pretty good condition. The fairway and tee boxes needed mowing and the rough could use some trimming (it is a County course, you don't want people looking for 5+ minutes everytime they miss the fairway). I also wish they had a driving range to warm up on. Overall I highly recommend a play, though $104 for non-residents is steep. GN has some good deals for $78-90 often
Solid County Course
Course is in above average shape. Rough is very thick but well kept. PAC for play was horrendous. There were 10-20 minute waits on the tee boxes at times. There were no rangers coming through to move people along. Aside from that, enjoyed the course.
Hudson Hills Golf
Challenging and quite hilly. Plus throughout the course many sections were cart part only. We understood the necessity but it was a trek at times. So if you are out of condition this is not your course. That said, our primary complaint was that the greens were incredibly slow.
Nice place
Course was wet and the rough was very high. Greens putted well. Tee boxes were awful.but may have been a result of the rain .but great course otherwise ...
hilly
Very challenging. Up and down elevations and tricky putting. Made for an interesting day.
Seniors
Hudson Hill is a great course EXCEPT it is not senior friendly. Walked over 5 miles. Restricted fairways and access to tee boxes and greens were main obstacles for seniors or handicap. Course is great for youngsters and mountain climbers BUT not seniors.
Not senior friendly
Cart paths always means walking a lot as much as five miles even with a cart. Not suitable for even the most fit senior. Course deserves 100% but not for seniors!
By far the BEST public course in the Westchester county -
Its by far the best county course in Westchester.
If you think you're going to show up and just run the course, that will not happen at a beginner level. The course needs to be played with thought. Don't just think about the shot you're taking,,, but the next shot as well. you'll be fine!!!
The course is kept like a private club,,,. in some cases better than some I've visited.
You wont be sorry you went there to play.
I play with my friends and my 14 Y/O son. in both cases its always good play.
great carts, great markers and the greens have never been green hardpan. ALL GOOD NEWS!
You'll have a blast. the course is always in great shape because it gets a lot less play than any other county course because of the price. BUT ITS WORTH IT!
