Not senior friendly

Cart paths always means walking a lot as much as five miles even with a cart. Not suitable for even the most fit senior. Course deserves 100% but not for seniors!

By far the BEST public course in the Westchester county -

Its by far the best county course in Westchester.

If you think you're going to show up and just run the course, that will not happen at a beginner level. The course needs to be played with thought. Don't just think about the shot you're taking,,, but the next shot as well. you'll be fine!!!

The course is kept like a private club,,,. in some cases better than some I've visited.

You wont be sorry you went there to play.

I play with my friends and my 14 Y/O son. in both cases its always good play.

great carts, great markers and the greens have never been green hardpan. ALL GOOD NEWS!

You'll have a blast. the course is always in great shape because it gets a lot less play than any other county course because of the price. BUT ITS WORTH IT!

Great course

I have been playing here many times. It is a mountain course with a lot of up and down hill shots. Some fairways are narrow. Green is fast but not super fast. Enjoy my round.

The layout was a little sketchy

Some of the hole layout were a little under designed and didn't flow that well. The overall condition was ok but some holes were poorly engineered.JG

Fun day

course in good shape for early in the year cart path only still some wet spots. Lots of elevation and the par 5's are the hardest holes on the course...not too many courses you can say that about. Reminded me a little of Spook Rock with elevation changes and some blind shots. Overall nice variety and good challenge will be back!

Scenic rolling hills beautfil foliage

This course was highly recommended by a friend and although today was cold and windy I decided to drive an hour from the city to play at Hudson Hills, figure it would not be crowded. Booked a Hot Deal on GolfNow, also saw several spots were sold. When I walked in the proshop the staff looked at me angrily and started questioning why do I want to play today when it's cold and windy. I said well I prepaid and drove an hour so I should. He then said "if a branch hits you, I'm not going to get you." He then puts on his jacket angrily while saying now he has to go out in this cold and ended with they will close at 3 today. It was about noon when I checked in. He walked out, got the cart and left without saying a word. I tried not to let him ruin my mood and had a great playing experience. Yes it was cold but the sun came out and the foliage had beautiful colors. The front 9 had some interesting holes with elevation changes and blind shots. The back 9 had expansive views which I don't usually get to see at NJ courses where I play. Greens were fast and challenging. The wind was not a factor at times teed off with wood or long iron. When I finished and took the cart back on time he was in his car waiting and walked by without saying a word. They should have asked another guy to work today.

Solid public course all around

Challenging layout with a nice challenge of 7000 yards from the tips. Staff couldn’t be any friendlier. Speed of play depends on time of day but usually under 4:15. Highly recommend.

Played the course on a nice fall Saturday morning (11/4), so expected a decent crowd - however it was exceptionally slow (5:20 to play 18). Issue is likely two-fold (maybe more): No starter telling people when to tee off. No ranger on the course for the entire round, which is unacceptable on a public course, especially a course with this many blind shots.

Overall course in decent shape, though it almost seemed like metal spikes were allowed based on the amount of spike marks surrounding every hole cut, making seemingly easy 3 footers routinely difficult.

Course could be great, but lacked anything that would encourage a return visit.

Hudson Hills honest review

This course is not worth the money...period. My daughter and I left after 16 holes, and at that time it was already 4 hours and 30 minutes. And my daughter is a zero handicap so she wasn't the problem. The pace of play is terrible and the conditions of the course are definitely not worth $100.00 per person. I've been playing golf for over 30 years now, and it's safe to say that I know what courses are worth it and what courses are not.

First time at this track, the layout was excellent, very tight in places and a lot of blind shots but fun. Not a fan of # 17 can't see your approach shot and no idea where the green is unless you've played it before overall fun course I'll be back

Still a good, tough track.

Played Hudson several times, all in different conditions at different times of the season. The course is always a bit rough earlier on in the season with very long, deep rough, wet fairways, longer tees, and slow greens. Most recent occasion was probably the best shape I've seen it yet. Tees were level and shorter, greens were slick and extremely challenging - I consider myself a good putter, and I struggled to convert pars. Still overall one of the best tracks in the area for the money.

First Group Out - Can't Be Beat

This course is usually out-priced for non-Westchester residents, but THANKS GolfNow!! Played with a friend and we were matched with two singles as the first group out on a Friday morning. Played consistent and finally felt this course was moderately difficult, compared to prior plays that I would rate as "somewhat challenging". Errant drives make it almost impossible to get on in regulation, so accuracy off the tee is premium on this course. A few blind shots make it tough if you haven't played here before. Played in 4 hours and have never been close to that when playing here previously.

Hudson Hills

Course in very good shape as usual. Exceptions are --traps not all good sand, some tee boxed beat up a bit. This course is tough if you don't know it. Has great scenery. Most holes decent layout with a few annoying funky holes. No driving range. Very quick round as was not too busy. Worth a gofnow hot deal but not really worth the premium relative to Mohansic

Very challenging

Condition was great overall. You have to know the course in order manage your game. Much undulated fairways and greens. Greens were fast.

It was my second time playing here. First was about 5 yrs ago and didn't remember the course enough. Think I'll enjoy more next time

Surprisingly Good

We went out mid-day on a Friday and were able to finish our round under 4 hrs as a 2-some (it helped that the forecast was calling for rain all day so I'm guessing enough people rescheduled or cancelled). Lots of great views along the course and some pretty memorable holes, like the 15th - a big uphill par 5. Aside from a few tight driving holes (#8), the rest of the course is forgiving off the tee. There's no range here at the course, a little odd for a course this nice, but not a big deal. The carts also have GPS installed.

It's a challenge and I like it

The challenge keeps most golfers away and hate this course. It's very long and hilly and requires a very good knowledge of the layout and where to aim. You can get into trouble easily in the front nine if you are a hooker so be prepared to lose some balls.

This is my favorite course in Westchester but it could get pricey on the weekends if you are not a park pass holder.

In conclusion, you will absolutely love or loathe this course depending on what you think a golf course should be.

Old world course

This is a classic old-school parkland course with kind of narrow fairways, undulated greens, and modest amount of traps. At par 71, it was challenging enough at just over 6,300 yards, but the tees were brought forward so only played like 6,100 yards. Course layout has some interesting holes, but also a few head-scratchers like, "what was the architect thinking?" Holes tend to be on top of each other so you're better off spraying your t-shots way right or left rather than a bit right or left. OB, hazards and obstacles were clearly marked and relatively well placed, but not many were really concerns or came into play in any significant way. There isn't much water that comes into play. Greens were a little inconsistent in terms of speed, but generally on the medium-side with some slick puts putting with the grain and some slower putts putting against the grain. Need to consider grain when reading, but generally true to the eye. Greens were on the hard side so hard to stop the ball unless a lot of spin is applied. Conditions would be best described as a bit worn and torn, particularly the fairway, although the greens were in decent shape. There was a beverage cart, and the lunch selection was good, prompt at the turn, and tasty enough. Prices were OK. Although a putting green was available there was only two warm-up slots where you could hit your own balls into the net and no range. The key to play on this course is your short game. Compared to some of the modern courses, this one is generally a pass, unless you need to play in that neighborhood AND you like the old-school parkland-type courses, in general.
