Hudson Hills in Ossining
Fun and challenging course, with some exciting twists and turns along the way. Would definitely go back for round 2.
This golf course has its own difficult level.

Value for money on Golf now deal
Enjoyed playing this course, was a little slow because of group in front of us. Had a hole-in-one on the 9th hole while playing from the green tees. Went to the Pro shop they never had any policy in place for any sort of acknowledgement which was very odd. Overall a good course to play but not happy with the experience of a hole in one as no enthusiasm shown by staff.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Lamboo! Please accept a belated congratulations on your hole-in-one! We hope to see you again soon.
This course has great view.
I strongly recommend this course
Thank you for the recommendation, Mark4523265! Please come and play here again soon!
Pleasantly Surprised
Our foursome lives in Rockland and none of us, or anyone we knew, played this course before. We booked the round as a hot deal on a Sunday and was worth every dollar. Everything was excellent for this time of year. Only problem we all had were the tee boxes as they needed a little up-keeping, but for this time of year (early spring), its totally expected. Would definitely come back again.
We're delighted to hear that you had a great time with us, u433722267! We hope you'll visit us again soon!
good
Very good but difficult.......
We're glad that you had a fun and challenging round with us! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
Up on the Hill in January!
Anytime one can play golf in January in the Northeast - it is amazing. The course was in pristine shape for January and basically there was no one on the course. The person I was paired up with, was his first time on the course and it was cart path only, and yet we played in less than 3 hours. If Hunter Mountain is still not 50% open next weekend, I may go for one more golf round next weekend and it might be Hudson Hills! Note: Food and beverage was closed, so that is why no rating.
Hudson Hills
It's disappointing that even with a tee time of 1:15pm at the end of November that they still charged full price knowing that there's no way we'd get 18 in. Surprisingly we did get 14 but still not worth the full price we were charged!!
Hudson Hills
Purchased a hot deal for this course. Excellent value. I arrived about 1 hour early knowing that the course is typically not busy at that time. Guy behind the counter wanted to make me wait until tee time, rather then letting us head out on the empty course. This guy is the only one at the course that is an issue. Staff is fine, one guy is a stickler on everything.
This course has many challenging holes and tough putting greens
Overall great golf course with many challenging holes. The greens were tough to read but this may be due to the first time playing this course.
Gorgeous But.....
We were a twosome behind a threesome and a very slow foursome. The pace of play was excruciatingly slow. The twosome behind us was heading into us and through us and demanded to be to be allowed to place through. They seem to accept my explanation that there was no place for them to go but we felt some hostility nonetheless.
The carts GPS had communications. We pressed the button for send a Ranger and nothing happened. Tried again nothing happens. Then the cart started to act weird and we press the button for Requesting a new cart. Again no response but luckily the cart started working again.
We finally gave up at about the 13th hole. I'm guessing that if we had played through 18 that the total time would have been something well over five hours at least.
Course disrespect!
This was my 1st time playing this course. I enjoyed the venue. Since I only play these overpriced courses with the help of GN the value was well worth it. Though their are several blind holes if you can drive your cart a little ahead to view the layout of the hole it helps. This is not always possible. The roped off holes are a little disappointing as far as having to walk to play your second shot. Seems to me not many players are filling their fairway divits with sand or fixing ball mark on the greens! I will play this course again and hope that this review will be read by the management of the course and something will be done to improve those things patrons bring to Light.
Nice and challenging!
It's design is one you have to make some decisions about shot shaping and course management, multi tiered fairways couple with some long carries makes you think all the easy thru! Excellent greens and lots of nature! All in all a fun course!
Not worth their price.
This is a terrible golf course not worth $115. I have played this golf course twice now. Plain and simple to many blind shots I'm not talking about 3 or 4. 11 holes are nothing but blind shots. You have to hit the ball way to the right just to hit the fairway. Anything down the middle rolls right out of bounds. Greens are all inconsistent some slow some fast. Bunkers have dirt and rocks in them and no sand. 2nd hole I hit a bomb down the right side, right to left finally found the ball it rolled out of bounds way left. I feel this is just a poorly designed golf course. Great shots are not rewarded on any of the par fives. Basically you're hit in 3 or 4 irons off the tee's on par 5's otherwise you'll end up out of bounds. Just a stupid golf course.
This course is very challenging
Enjoy playing this course. Staff friendly and order of paly is good.
Worth a Try
I've been wanting to play this course for a while, and was waiting for a good deal on Golfnow. The course fell a little shy of my expectations, but was enjoyable nonetheless. The front 9 is pretty narrow with lots of areas to lose balls...there's a premium on accuracy. The back 9 is a bit more open. I'd say the greens are uncharacteristically long and narrow. Also, the par 3s are unusually short. In my opinion, there are a few really good holes and a few dumb ones. The course plays 6,900 yards from the back tees. Combine this with a premium on accuracy and it can play tough.
I plan to go back, but I don't think it's worth anything close to the $115 they charge on the weekend.
A golfer's course
This course is a true test of golf. It's one of the most challenging in the Metro area. If you appreciate great course architecture, this is a must visit. It's not a course for beginners unless you go with a truly open mind that you're in for a difficult day! Having said that, if you hit the ball where you can see it, and play the proper tees, it's a ton of fun with all the different shots you'll have to hit. The first few holes are tight & narrow, but then the back opens up some. The first hole you get what you see. Keep it right and long to keep out of trouble. Second hole has a blind shot. Aim slightly left of the tower. For almost all of the other holes except those with forced carries, it's better to be short than long, since there is very little room over most greens.
We played in just over 4 hours, but we were waiting for the group in front of us to locate their shots often, which slowed down the game. Relax and enjoy the scenery. The tees were very dry and powdery, and since we had so little rain this summer, not that bad considering. Greens are fast & hard, rough long. I shot 85 playing off 12 and was very happy to do so!
The T Boxes were awful
T Boxes were not maintained as well as some other Westchester public courses. Better to play Mohansic Golf Course.
The greens were rock hard and have do not seem to have been watered in days!
The course is over priced......even though I only paid $31 those that paid the much higher rate should feel robbed!
Get working Hudson Hills ground staff, fix those T boxes or manage them better!
Give the greens some water please.
There is Nothing Redemptive Here
The course is the worse maintained course in the whole system. The value is deplorable, the tee boxes devoid of turf, Fairways pot holed with divots and clumps of grass and they were as hard as concrete. Same for the greens. Is there any irrigation and or sprinklers anywhere,. An embarrassment! There were 2 cart guys and very little evidence of staff anywhere's else. It was a very hot, humid day and there was no water nor were they any mobile refreshment. The club house so far as I can tell offers hot dogs, hamburgers and the de minimus staff is easily and frequently overwhelmed. Somebody should blow this place up and start all over.
dumb layout
I have played courses all over the states and this one has some of the dumbest hole setups I have ever seen, like a lon 2nd shot on one par 5 over a huge area of undergrowth with about a 10 yard wide landing area over the junk. Also almost all, at least half the fairways are roped off and they make you take a cart. It would be quicker to walk.
