Grey Hawk Golf Club

About
Grey Hawk Golf Club is a challenging but playable course that is a Cleveland area favorite. It brings resort-quality golf to a remote location in LaGrange that is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The rolling landscape is the ideal terrain for links-style golf. The course demands accuracy with lightning fast greens surrounded by bunkers and be sure not to stray from the fairways or you'll almost definitely be left with an uneven lie. Unlike a typical links golf course, there are water hazards coming into play on several holes on this layout. The 11th hole features a tricky island green while the third hole has an equally challenging "island green" that is surrounded by sand. Grey Hawk Golf Club is a formidable but fair test with interesting and diverse hole designs.

Good course
Good condition, only complaint was the greens didn’t hold a ball very well. Flushed irons and wedges with mid to high height were just bouncing everywhere. You’d expect them to hold a bit with spin, especially with balls like an XS by Bridgestone. But instead you’re 10-20 feet from where your ball landed nearly every shot.
Always enjoy Grey Hawk though. Tips was a fun challenge today.
Real challenge for a first timer.
Loved the layout. Unfamiliarity cost me a few strokes. So many casual hinderances-fluffy ruff, mounds dispensing uneven lies. Greens hard, dry and fast. However, I would jump at a chance to play again. Course makes you think. Truly enjoyed my experience. One note, buy your driving range token in the club house before you drive across the street to get to the practice area. Fun and frustration go hand in hand but totally worth it. Highly recommended.
Greyhawk
While I see conditions starting to get a little worn on the edges. This course is still a good test of golf skills. The fairways and greens are in great shape!
Beautiful, but difficult.
The rough is thick. Hit the fairway or lose your ball. Lots of water and sand. Big moguls are everywhere. Beautiful and well maintained, but not an easy day for a high handicap golfer.
Gotta love it
The course is in the best shape I have ever seen!
It’s one of my favorite courses in north east Ohio
Nic but slow
Very nice layout and greens. A lot of areas around greens and paths are rough. Friendly atmosphere but pace of play was too slow, five and a half hours for eighteen!
7:30 Tee Time
Booked 7:30 Tee Time on GolfNow App, showed up to the course 30 minutes prior to said tee time. As I walked into the pro shop I was told that the course isn’t open until 8 and that I would have to wait until 8:10 for my 7:30 tee time. Meaning I had to wait for over an hour before going out. I said ok well then I’ll go over to the range and warm up, nope that’s not open either. Course is beautiful and in great condition, however we make the turn and there is no hot dogs available yet. This course does not accommodate the early golfer. If you want to play here and have an enjoyable experience, book a tee time later the 11 am. Will not be going back.
Nice course, not so nice stafg
Course was in beautiful shape! Very playable for this somewhat new golfer but still challenging for my seasoned golfer friend. Only complaint was the staff. He seemed to be annoyed we were there, no direction as to where the first tee was, or the driving range or any amenities in the clubhouse. No one outside, no starter on the course. We were just left to figure things out on our own. We’ll give it one more try because we liked the course. But if we are treated like this again, we’ll choose somewhere else.
