Grey Hawk Golf Club

About
Grey Hawk Golf Club is a challenging but playable course that is a Cleveland area favorite. It brings resort-quality golf to a remote location in LaGrange that is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The rolling landscape is the ideal terrain for links-style golf. The course demands accuracy with lightning fast greens surrounded by bunkers and be sure not to stray from the fairways or you'll almost definitely be left with an uneven lie. Unlike a typical links golf course, there are water hazards coming into play on several holes on this layout. The 11th hole features a tricky island green while the third hole has an equally challenging "island green" that is surrounded by sand. Grey Hawk Golf Club is a formidable but fair test with interesting and diverse hole designs.

Excellent golf course..
Incredible design. It's a challenging course but it's fair. There is very little hidden danger. The objective is always clear. There is quite a bit of water and sand, including an island green, and a green surrounded entirely by a waste bunker. There aren't a lot of wooded areas, making it a great choice in the fall when other courses are covered in leaves. The openness also means you will almost always be exposed to the wind, making it a big factor. The large, undulating greens are in excellent condition, and if you don't bring a solid short game to this course, you may have a rough day. Probably my favorite public layout. It's a must play
Pure
This course is so pure! Beautiful fairways, nice greens and great bunkers!! This is a must play in Northeast Ohio.
Greens were awesome
Beautiful greens. Rough was too high for the average golfer.
Over priced
72$ to play a round of golf? That is equal to 9 hours of work at minimum wage. I am boycotting this course because of the price they are charging. This is very sad. Nice course but major rip off
Surprsed
So my husband and I got a tee time a little later in the day figuring it’d be a little less crowded. We thought it was…we had a 4 some ahead of us but no big deal. But on the 4th hole we noticed 8 people on the green. They were playing all 8 each hole. The course was rather backed up but that didn’t help matters. No one ever came around to check pace. We only played the first 7 holes then thought we’d go back and start at 1 again. This wasn’t too bad but we paid for 18 and only got to play 13 and never made it to the back 9 because carts have to be back by 8:45 and we would never have made that. Very sad as we wanted to have a nice night out. Will check if we play in the future how full the course is.
Nice Public Option
Course was great, a little soggy but we had a lot of rain leading up to my round and is obviously out of their control. Other than that it is great shape for mid-August.
Word of caution: I had the first time of the day, the range was not open until after I teed off so I was not able to warm up. Just keep it in mind for the super early times if warming up is a necessity for you. As a plus, I was supposed to be paired with 3 other golfers and since I was by myself and we were the first off they let me go out alone and played in a little over 2 hours.
Nice course with a little drive
Course layout and conditions were very nice. Good place for any type of player. But being from the Akron area, it was a good drive and we passed 5-7 different course.
Really nice
Course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Has island green and other really fun holes. A lot of hilly mounds on both sides of the fairway on most holes. Not a lot of trees. Has a range. Restaurant had decent food. Employee at checkin was unfriendly. Didn't make us feel welcome. Other then that we had a good time.
Good conditions
Everything was good except the pace of play. 4 hours and 45 minutes with no one ahead of the group in front of us who would not let us through. Several groups were backed up behind us.
Challenging Course
I always enjoy playing Grey Hawk. The greens are extremely fast and the course was in good condition.
I recommend playing this course.
Challenging, Fair, Great Public track
I hadn't been out to this venue in a couple years, but it has dramatically improved. The fairways are lush green, not overly mowed and burnt out. The greens roll true and are as fast as any public course I've played this year. The layout is great, links style with plenty of undulating greens, grass bunkers, water and traditional sand. Bring some extra balls for the island green as well. A must play and reasonably priced!
