A Very Pleasant Suburban Short course
Tucked away in the safe little suburb of Oakleigh is a lovely little 9 hole short course suitable for any kind of golfer. Beginners and juniors will appreciate the courses’ shorter length and non intimidating nature, while more advanced players can get a through workout on their mid and short iron game.
Played this course shortly after the strictest COVID lockdown in the western world, and the course was in great shape (for a public course). Smooth well grassed greens, and the fairways were nice too. The layout sends you along the Scotchmans creek away from the club house, before doing a u turn back along the creek.
The hardest hole is probably the first. A game person would need to thread the needle with a driver but the sensible play is a long iron then a punchy second to the green. Watch the creek on the right.
The best hole is probably the par 3 8th. A 7 iron for me to a green framed by trees right and bunker left.
Good value and you can whip around here in 1.5 hours.
Friendly staff, nice practice putting green and hitting nets available.
A nice November arvo
A nice, albeit short course. Nine holes with 2 par 4's & 5 par 3's.
Lovely setting along Scotchman's Creek (the bike path is in the other side).
Almost deserted when we played.
Certainly fun.
