A Gem
Trying out new courses in the area and was happily surprised.
in good condition compared to many other courses in the same area
good value for your money
Very pleasantly surprised
Was surprised by the very good condition of this executive course and the challenge of play and will definitely be back again.
Full dosclosure
I was not aware that they had set up a Scramble for 2 hours after my ttime. It was a 9 hole scramble from holes 10-18. They should have started me on the 10th hole and I would have missed the delay that I hit at hole 13.
I went back to the starter who allowed me to play 1-9 again, but I really wished I would have been offered a start at hole 10, so I could experience all 18 holes. I also didn't know this was a par 60 course (mostly par 3's), but that is because I didn't do my homework before booking.
great time
Four played 18 holes and had a great time. Course was in great condition and we didn't have to rush. Food and drinks were average and the complete staff was very nice. For a par 60 course they were a little pricey compared to other courses in the area. Yes, we would play again.
They don't want you there
1st time at barefoot bay. Started out awful, the staff was surly and unhelpful even pointing out the #1 tee. We were 2nd off for the morning with a 3-some walking in front of us and a 3-some behind. As a physically handicapped 2-some we are used to waiting (we did ask for a HC flag for the cart and were granted one). By the 3rd hole waiting got silly long so we began hitting a few mulligans to pass the lag time. Understand we are experienced golfers who have played 100's courses in many states (including Torry Pines, Cherry Hills CC, Bay Hill, etc.) Not once did the group in front offer a "play through" and we kept pace. At the end of the round (3 1/2 hours on and executive course, YIKES) the group behind us took it upon themselves to tell us this is a member's course and visitors are not welcome (he informed us the group in front were also members, they don't have to offer "play through"). "Don't ever come back" the one man said. The hitting of extra balls is illegal and he didn't give a "blank" about the HC flag. Gosh that was FUN. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
Great course for all levels
Plenty of water and small greens makes this course fun to play
Don't be fooled
Although this course plays to a par 60 there's plenty of hazards putting a premium on keeping the ball in prime position. Greens are in excellent condition and your putting ability can make or break your round.
Too many par 3's, it's an executive course.
Not one par 5 and 12 par3's.... Way too short. They need to add some yards to charge what they do or charge for a par 3course and add lights for night golfing.... Just an idea
