Poor Greens & staff attitude
We had a 1:08pm tee time and experienced extremely slow play, the group ahead taking multiple practice swings and with no awareness of pace or course etiquette. After 2.5 hours, we had only reached the 8th tee.
At that point, play was suspended for over an hour due to an electrical storm (nothing you can do about that). Prior to the delay, the greens were already in poor condition, with significant pitch mark damage, patchy grass, and dirt areas. All bunkers were also out of play (GUR).
We requested a credit for the back nine given both the delays and course condition but were met with a dismissive attitude from the pro shop, being told slow play is expected on a public course and play would restart when the storm finishes.
After the storm, conditions worsened significantly, with casual water on the greens making putting impossible, through rivers onc8-10. We raised this and asked for a credit for 9 holes again and were again met with poor attitude
By this stage, it was approaching 5pm, light was fading, and two players in our group chose to leave due to the conditions and overall experience. The remaining two of us continued, but finished in near darkness.
While parts of the course improved slightly on the back nine, the combination of slow play, unplayable greens, weather impact, and unhelpful staff response resulted in a very disappointing experience.
We will not be returning.
Fantastic all round
Great, challenging course. Greens in excellent condition. Great layout, good amenities and super value. It was a scorching day so big thanks to the guys in the pro shop for the cart. Will definitely be back
Walking Lakeside
Very well looked after course with some challenging long fairways and added very thick rough
First time
Yesterday played this course for the first time. I was happy with course but not so much my golf. :)
Some superb holes and the trickiest greens I’ve played
First time playing the course and really impressed. Course itself has lots of different challenges and visually very enjoyable. In super condition and fairways especially in very good condition. The course is split and involves a lot of walking between greens and tees. The greens had severe undulations throughout and were super quick and a real test of both pace and line. The surrounding residential and construction work did detract from the overall experience but if the course and holes were situated in Sydney it would definitely not feel like a poor relation. Really friendly pro shop. Definitely recommend ticking this one off your list and will be back to play again
Classic pleasant to play course
Will play this course again. Classic lay out with enough challenges.
Great coarse
The coarse was in great condition.. the only downfall of the day was the greens keeper who plugged the cups did a average job the cups were in deep however every hole had a lip that deflected the ball when soft or an average speed. To sink a foot put you needed to really hit the ball so it didn’t defer left or right of the hole. (No this wasn’t from the green angulation) otherwise would play again!
Great Course, great experience.
This is a top tier golf course with all the amenities you could ask for. A perfect day out, new golf carts with ice boxes, ball and club cleaning on-board is also a key feature I haven't seen at other courses.
A little pricey for a weekend slot compared to other courses close by, however overall experience was worth it.
