Nice Course! Bunkers Need Attention!
I enjoy HH. Fairways and greens are in good shape, and many players are conscientious. One headache is sand traps. Some rakes are broken. Some traps seem to have sparse rakes. Most importantly there are a lot of players who don't rake the traps, and this is inconsiderate. I think HH should take steps to change this, including having a person going around to ensure traps are raked regularly.
Aerated greens. Give it two weeks.
Every green was aerated and sanded.
In 2 weeks the course and the greens will be great.
slow
this course is always in great shape but it is the slowest course ever. every time I play it (about a dozen times now) it is the slowest most painful pace of play. takes golf patience to a whole new level. With a cart, it is also pretty pricey for what you get.
Nice 9- Hole Course
Hyatt Hills is a convenient spot to keep an edge to your game if you're a busy person. The course is accessible and reasonably priced. There's a mix of skilled and novice players on the course. Pace of play is usually OK. The course did a great job giving out green repairs, and this has improved green quality. My one major criticism is that sand traps are rarely raked. This is basic golf etiquette and it is upsetting when your ball lands in a hot mess that another inconsiderate golfer left. Aside from the sand trap maintenance this is a very good course.
Cold but worth it
The course was much better than expected the fairways were good and the greens were fast . Except for the wind it was a good round
Fun time
Great day! It was raining a little, so I was the only one on the course. Purchase rain gear, clothing and umbrella, so I wanted to test it in the rain. Overall had a great day, made it a 18 holes instead of 9, since I was the only one out.😁
Good value
Played on a Sunday.
Course was in fine shape with the exception of the bunkers which hadn't likely been raked in weeks. The lack of rain made some shots in the rough challenging since the ground was so dry. The fairways and greens were definitely well kept with a few exceptions.
The place has a very casual golfer vibe which is fine, but the lack of etiquette is annoying. I had a few close calls and I didn't hear "fore" any of the times. Many unfixed divots, ball marks, and sand so bad that I just picked up out of a few times. They looked like a beach at 3 o'clock in July. So many footprints and I played at 9am.
Good range although I'd prefer a few different lengths of tees. Cute onsite bar/grill. Mini golf course on site for the family as well. Pretty small, but useful and appreciated practice putting green.
Frost delay, but that's normal this time of year.
My only real complaint is that the starter is located down by the entrance when they should be closer to the range. When we teed off, the next 2 groups behind us were already at the box waiting for us to hit. That's just annoying and pretty unusual. It's easily solvable if you just moved the starter box. "When's your tee time?" Isn't something golfers should be talking about on the first tee. The starter shouldn't allow more than 1 group on the first tee.
The layout is fine, if not super inspired. It's great to just get out for a quick 9 holes. For us, it was over 2 hours which is pretty unacceptable for this course at this length. It was 2 in our group who probably shouldn't be on the course during a busy time. We are all bad golfers, but at least move along. One guy literally swung and missed 5-6 times on every tee box. I wanted to call in slow play myself.
It's definitely a mostly local course that has regulars. It's pretty beginner friendly, but I do wish rules were better enforced. I might play it again at some point, but I wouldn't make it a destination. Great option for people wanting to play 9.
Enjoyable
Fairways were really clean but the greens were too dry - too fast
Decent 9-Hole Course!
Hyatt Hills has recently done a good job alerting players to repair greens, replace divots and rake sand traps. The course is normally well manicured, so with players making a better effort the experience is improving. Players still need to do a better job raking the sand traps, but aside from aeration this time of year greens are good (fast) and course is in fairly good shape. Hyatt Hills did a great job giving out green repair tools.
