Good course to increase your game
Course is not overbearing for a learning golfer but challenging enough for a good one.
Pace of play both times has been really slow. Saw the Marshall a few times on the front nine. But never on the back 9. Took over 5 hours to pkayb18 holes. Spent a lot of time waiting 2 groups back to play a hole. Wasn't even super busy. Bot all tee times used. Not sure why so slow. Staff is very friendly and course is in great shape. Just need them to focus on pace and help quicker groups get past the slow ones
Great upgrades
Been playing there for years, such great upgrades, Thank you
Beautiful day
Tea boxes were a little beat up fairways, and green were in good shape was dying for a hamburger they had good food….. Went inside to get something to eat. Something happen with the Cook? hopefully next time.
Spread Out the Tee Times
8 minute intervals is too close and the round of golf ends up being 5 hours. Some of the holes are driveable which causes a pile up of people. I do not believe I will come back to Gamblers again.
Wide open
You don't get penalized by the rough too much on this course so unless you get behind a tree you can generally go at the green. The course was in pretty good shape compared to the damage the heat/humidity/drought has done to other courses.
Gambler Ridge Golf Course has truly become one of my favorite places to play. The course keeps getting better every time I come back, and it’s clear that a lot of money and effort is being reinvested into improving the grounds and overall experience. The fairways and greens are in great shape, and you can see the upgrades happening all around the course.
What really sets Gambler Ridge apart is the staff. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been welcoming, helpful, and genuinely focused on making sure you have a great day out on the course. Whether it’s in the pro shop, on the course, or at the clubhouse, the service is always top-notch.
It’s exciting to see the commitment to both the players and the future of the course. Gambler Ridge is definitely a hidden gem that’s only getting better, and I highly recommend it to golfers of all levels.
Well maintained
very good shape for Augusts heat greens where in great shape and fairways 400%better then cedar creek in Bayville
SLOWWWWWWW
Pace of play is terrible. Walked off after 3 holes as I was staring down a possible 6 hour round. Course is in OK condition. Tee boxes and rough in bad shape. Greens and fairways in good condition. Staff was friendly.
Pace of play
Ive played this course many times, but it's usually during the week. This time was on a saturday and I noticed right away that they're scheduling times only 8 minutes apart. Needless to say, it was a disaster. At one point there were 3 foursomes on the same tee box. This course has several drivable par 4 holes which obviously slows the pace down. They seriously need to schedule times at least 10 minutes apart. At the turn we went in for a hot dog and they were all just put on so they were cold and we didnt end up buying them. Maybe space them out?... to top it all off, it was $66 to play. The new owners are clearly trying to get as many players in as possible and over charging. I really hope they realize that happy golfers equals profits. Not gouging them.
