Gambler Ridge Golf Course has truly become one of my favorite places to play. The course keeps getting better every time I come back, and it’s clear that a lot of money and effort is being reinvested into improving the grounds and overall experience. The fairways and greens are in great shape, and you can see the upgrades happening all around the course.
What really sets Gambler Ridge apart is the staff. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been welcoming, helpful, and genuinely focused on making sure you have a great day out on the course. Whether it’s in the pro shop, on the course, or at the clubhouse, the service is always top-notch.
It’s exciting to see the commitment to both the players and the future of the course. Gambler Ridge is definitely a hidden gem that’s only getting better, and I highly recommend it to golfers of all levels.
Well maintained
very good shape for Augusts heat greens where in great shape and fairways 400%better then cedar creek in Bayville
SLOWWWWWWW
Pace of play is terrible. Walked off after 3 holes as I was staring down a possible 6 hour round. Course is in OK condition. Tee boxes and rough in bad shape. Greens and fairways in good condition. Staff was friendly.
Pace of play
Ive played this course many times, but it's usually during the week. This time was on a saturday and I noticed right away that they're scheduling times only 8 minutes apart. Needless to say, it was a disaster. At one point there were 3 foursomes on the same tee box. This course has several drivable par 4 holes which obviously slows the pace down. They seriously need to schedule times at least 10 minutes apart. At the turn we went in for a hot dog and they were all just put on so they were cold and we didnt end up buying them. Maybe space them out?... to top it all off, it was $66 to play. The new owners are clearly trying to get as many players in as possible and over charging. I really hope they realize that happy golfers equals profits. Not gouging them.
Great day
Had another great day here. Only annoying thing was the ranger coming telling us to pick up the pace. When we finished in 3.5 hours. Everyone was friendly and the course was well maintained.
You can play better for the money
Ive been playing this course for years, this is probably 2nd to worst I've seen it. Fairways were in good shape, with some exceptions, greens in good shape. T boxes horrible. If you nt in the fairway your playing on a sandy brick. Hard to imagine you can't get the rought to be rough. Every time I play here the sprinklers go off in the middle of the round, cant believe they can't figure that out. Also, I had a threesome and they added a random, no big deal but, they forced me to share the cart with a random. Playing 20+ years all over NJ and the country, never had to share a cart with a random.
Great upgrades
First time playing the course since they turned over new ownership. They really did a great job upgrading the course. Was very nicely done . Took out a few trees and moved some tee boxes mak8ng the course more enjoyable to play. The staff was friendly and helpful enjoyable round. The only thing I can say would improve the experience is having a cart person.
Paul P
The course is a little rough around the edges and needs some work but the greens were in excellent condition. A nice solid course to.play.
Fun Course. Good Value
Little delayed at start, but round still was only four hours. Greens, tee boxes and Fairways in good shape. The rough could use a mow, but overall a solid, solid public course.
Course Conditions
Able to get early morning tee time. We were paired up with two other golfers. 2 other guys were super chill and easy to play with. $75 per guy for round with cart, pretty good value imo.
Gambling on Gambler Ridge
Went out with some friend to play my first time since May. Weather was hot, humid, with threats of thunderstorms and heavy rain.
We were a party of 3 and played 15 before the weather changed to rain. Greens were in great shape, fairways were excellent. Compared to my last time there, big improvement and looking forward to continued enjoyment throughout the season.
Good Day
Tee off early to two younger gentlemen, we were supposed to be playing with jump on the first tee. They hit their balls, jumped in their cart and took off. I guess they didn’t wanna play with people. We played the front nine in an hour and 45 minutes stopped in at the turn picked up two teeoff on 10 as we finished 10 Ranger came up screaming at us saying the guys behind us or complaining. They’ve been waiting all day we did not see anybody behind us all day so I look back and those gentleman in a threesome who about 150 yards out so we drove back to them and asked them what was the problem they said they waited on the eighth hole for us to get off the green ..so we let them go ahead of us. The guy was a real idiot. They all hit their second or third shots didn’t hit the green chipped up on the green and didn’t putt out and took off. Ridiculous range would bother us with a situation like this very unprofessional. We look for a few balls rough is very high on all fairways and greens are beautiful. Tee boxes are beat up.
