Improving
This course hss improved since my last visit. F0airways are very clean. Rough is deep greens on the slow side. Car path is like going on a roller ciaster at Great Adventure. The ranger Mark was great he helped me fjnd my phone after it fell out of the golf cart. Overall slight improvements coud use a little tlc⁰
Price is right!
Play this course it has a good layout and it’s in great condition! Rough was high makes it more challenging so those that don’t mind!!

Good Value, Nice layout
Gambler Ridge is a very nice public golf course in Central NJ. It is not overly long or difficult. The course does give you a nice variety of hole designs and the course conditions are good. Greens where smooth but a tad slow from the rain the prior night. Rough was thick an deep but fairways had uniform length grass and were in good condition. Even sand traps had wet sand but no standing water. Cart paths were a muddy mess from the storms mentioned. Overall, a nice experience , and a great place to bring a new golfer or a junior to break them into the game without them getting beat up on a too difficult course.

Never Again
It’s been about 5 years since ai played Gambler Ridge. I remembered it as a fun course to play with less-accomplished players. It’s not too long or tight. A 20 handicap can have a good day without being penalized by the course. Thus I thought it was a good choice to take my son-in-law, who is still developing a consistent swing.
We had a beautiful afternoon and joined a friendly mother-son twosome on the 1st tee. That was the last enjoyable moments in what turned into a miserable 5-hour round. The course was poorly manicured, and the greens nearly as slow as the pace of play. At one point, there were four groups waiting to play a hole. Yet the course ranger was absolutely useless. Slow play should be expected on a weekend on a public course. However, a total lack of respect for golf etiquette, coupled with the course management’s refusal to police the pace of play made for a frustrating afternoon.
I’ll never go back!!!

Wonderful experience
Another enjoyable outing . from check in to the starter . Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. Always look forward to playing here . Fairways and greens were in very good condition. However the 1 st cut off the fairways were a bit high . I lost 4 balls in the 1 st cut . Tough to find a ball when playing alone . Will definitely be back

Wow a hidden gem.
How I regret posting a negative response in the past . Talk about having to eat crow, yup that's me. This course has beautiful fairways and greens. The staff, John Mgr., Bill in the Pro Shop and Brian the Course Starter boy you can't meet nicer people. Thanks to all of you.

Nice course for the money
Gambler Ridge gets much less crowds then it's neighbor Cream Ridge. The course was in good shape, other then the rough needing to be mowed. I play here often, and never seen the rough like this.

A course where you need to be in the fairway to score well.
I played early in the morning and the rough was being cut.
The ball always settled in the higher than average rough making a reco very shot difficult.
Greens were in good shape and the course was a pleasure to play. Accuracy is important to score well.

Greens don’t roll true
The greens need to be rolled because the ball bounces all the way to the hole. The staff and the food are great. Five and a half hours to play. Way too long.
